Time to run on clouds!

Thursday, April 21, 2011

Woohoo I got new running shoes for my birthday yesterday! I went to the Running Room and actually got fitted for them :o) Very odd, I always thought i had weak ankles and needed extra support that way but apparently I actually walk on the outside of my feet especially my right foot. It was weird to feel the middle of my shoes only on that foot lol.

Took my new shoes running on the treadmill then outside yesterday. I must say I really like them, I just need to be careful how tight I tie them. On the treadmill run the top of my foot hurt, then the ball of my foot and some toes starting going numb lol. The run outside went much better - no problems that way with my shoes loosened. Here's hoping this cures my knee problems!

On Saturday I am doing the 3k Walk for Valour Place in Edmonton. Valour Place is a home away from home for injured soldiers, veterans, RCMP and their families while they are in Edmonton to get medical treatment. I have raised $325 so far! My 12 year old son is doing it with me - I'm impressed he wants to :o)

Maximum Stress!

Thursday, March 31, 2011

Ok these last 2 weeks have been hell. I have been dealing with some major issues with my sons. I believe we have weathered the situation fairly intact. It is pretty much over now.
As a result of the stress, I fell hard off the healthy living streak. I spent my days depressed, crying and very anxious. I couldn't bring myself to workout most days and I ate and drank what I wanted for comfort. I am only 4 lbs above my weight range thankfully. I haven't been exercising much and am reminding myself that I will lose all this lovely definition if I don't do at least a little something each week.
So yesterday I did a weight lifting session and today I actually ventured outside for a run. I managed 4 miles in 35 min and didn't have any shin pain. I've only done 2 runs in the last two months. I am hoping that I am now back at it! Time will tell as I have been crashing and burning food wise at night. Wish me luck!

Back to strength

Tuesday, December 21, 2010

Well did a 45 minute arm workout today with my old weights. I felt my elbows now and then but only for a moment. Hopefully they will get better!
Did my grocery shopping for Xmas today - did well $ wise but it's easy when you aren't buying meat! I was disappointed to see all the canned crab had citric acid in them. My youngest is allergic to it so I had to go looking for another option. I am now making shrimp dip as opposed to hot crab dip. Oh well! I pray he outgrows it because it gets so difficult. I have to make mayonnaise and ranch dressing for him so he can have dips and something decent on his hot dogs and hamburgers! Rather time consuming. And the places you find citric acid is amazing - like all margarine, icings and anything to do with fruit.

Hate it and can't change it

Monday, December 20, 2010

I have managed to change most of what I hated about my body. The awful saddle bag thighs that made me buy pants for my hips and tailor for my waist are actually smaller than my hips now. My thighs and my hips. I have a tiny waist which I have always been proud of. I used to have a nice chest, a nice C cup, but now 3 kids and 3 years nursing they are gone. I have gone from 36" to 30.5" and I absolutely hate that. I took the time to be on call for a hungry baby for a year three times and I get rewarded with sag city. It isn't fair, my sacrifice should have been rewarded.
I bought a beautiful formal gown 2 years ago and I was thrilled it was actually an extra small. When I wear it though it is plainly obvious it is meant for a bigger chest and I was wearing a pushup with inserts. It made me feel sub standard compared to everyone else. I think of myself as barely a woman in that regard and I desperately wish I could change that. I don't have the money to ever do anything about it though, hell I can't even afford new slacks.

Won't be much of a Christmas :o(

Wednesday, December 01, 2010

We've been barely making it and now I've lost one of my before/after school care kids as his Dad got laid off. It just had to be the month I have 3 mortgage payments didn't it? I will have to let go some of my clean eating items that are pricey and opt for cheap less healthy options. Won't be any Christmas presents for me and my husband and my older sons' presents will need to be postponed. My parents gave us half the cost to help us buy them new bikes but now we can't afford to pay the other half. That REALLY sucks. My power company opted for this month to settle up - yikes $290! Makes me glad I paid an extra $50 last month though.
I will try to trust God to provide. I will also try not to eat the stress away either - maybe I will run it away lol.

As you say, God will provide, just keep praying and keeping your faith in love and God. I can sympathize with your tough times as can many right now, but things do get better. Loving your family is gift enough sometimes, although the kids might not see that now, it will surely assure them of a bright future.

Keep your chin up. I'm in a very similar situation - I think lots of people are this year. This too, will come to pass. emoticon

I'm so sorry to read your bad news. I've had a tough time with money this fall too. I couldn't afford to get my youngest son a present on his birthday. But I was surprised how understanding he was when I explained our situation. Sometimes we don't give our kids enough credit. You'll be in my prayers, and I hope things turn around for your family soon. emoticon
