It's my Birthday and I'll Cheat if I Want To!!!!!

I've been really busy lately with work and school, but I've managed to get in a few workouts this week. I ran 5km three times this week and did 2 days of strength training. Monday is my birthday but I have a midterm on Wednesday so I wont be doing anything exciting on Monday.
A bunch of guys always go for happy hour drinks on Fridays after work. I have been good and haven't gone in a month. Today I went for "birthday beers" I only had 5, it could have been a lot worse. So needless to say I went over my calories today.
Tomorrow we have friends coming over for my birthday dinner and I get get to pick whats for supper. I've chosen chinese take out because I love it and havn't had it since new years eve. I will also have a piece of ice cream cake, its my cake I can't not have a peice.
I had been stressing about splurging but really my birthday only comes once a year so I've decided it's not a big deal. I've lost 12 lbs since Jan 1st. It's not like there all going to show up for my weigh in on Monday morning. I've done really well all week long plus I plan on going to the gym tomorrow and sunday morning so I'll burn off some of the calories. I don't wan to gain this week but at the same time I don't expect to lose. I'd be happy with the scale not moving at all. Oh well Happy Birthday to me!!!

So I have a wii fit but I hardly use it, I don't feel its all that great of a workout because it doesn't really get my heartrate up, but it is better than nothing. I preffer to work out at the gym but today my husband is working overtime all day so I don't have a car and our gym is closing at 4pm because its a holiday so I can't go this evening. I wasn't in the mood for doing a dvd so I decided to dust off the old Wii fit. When I step on it I got a message informing me that it's been 697 days since my last workout... Ooops, I didn't realize it had been that long. So I did 1/2 hour on the wii fit then decided to use my Gold's Gym Cardio Workout, which I believe is a really good cardio workout. So I did that for 1/2 hour which is better than nothing for today!!!

I work out of town a lot because I work in the oilfield. Currently I've temporarily moved into the office while taking an online engineering class. Between full time hours in the office and getting my school work done I can't seem to find the time or energy to get to the gym. Normally when I'm in town I'm at the gym several times a week. My gym offers Les Mills classes and I'm addicted to them, I try and do 4-5 a week sometimes doing 2 one hour classes back to back. I don't want to let this get in the way of my weightloss journey so I've decided to start working out over my lunch our at the small gym in my office. I've always been leary about working out at lunchtime, because there is no time to shower if I want to work out and actually get a bite to eat. But I've decided screw it if its the only time I can do it then it's gotta be. It's nothing a little freshening up, deoderant, makeup and some perfume won't hide :-)
I've decided to do the C25K training on the treadmille since each podcast is about 30 minutes. I will do that on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. Tomorrow is day 3 of week 1. I have printed off some of the strength training workouts off the fitness section and plan on doing 30 minutes of weights with 5 minutes of abs on tuesdays and thursdays starting next week.
I'm still trying to get my head around a 30 minute workout. I'm used to being at the gym for 1-2+ hours. I know 30 minutes is better than nothing, but I've got it in my head that it's probably not goingn to be enough. I'll still try and fit in the odd class even if its only 1 or 2 a week. I hope its enough excersice to see the numbers continuing to drop on the scale!

    Doing something, even if more briefly than usual and over your lunch time, is what's critical. I see pluses to adding in a workout during the work day, too. It's great that this is available to you at your office. Good luck with it! emoticon emoticon
