Diastasis Recti: Lower Back Pain, and Protruding Tummys: Hi Friends, I found out about something, and thought I'd share. It seems no matter how much weight I lose, my tummy still stays large, and poofed out in front! I learned about something called Diastasis Recti. It is well worth looking up! Also, for friends with lower back pain, PLEASE look this up! Diastiaesis Recti is a condition where the muscles that normally go down the front of your tummy, have separated, and instead of running straight down the front of the tummy, they are off to the left and right. This separation does not allow for proper tummy support, and also greatly affects lower back support, as well, surprisingly enough!! Please look at YouTube to learn about it. There are exercises that can help bring those muscles back to where they belong!! Oddly enough, doing regular sit-ups HURTS the condition, and makes it worse, which is evidenced in myself, as I'm a PRO at doing sit-ups. I have worked very hard in trying to eliminate that tummy of mine, that POPS right out, only to find out, the exercises I've done, for years, have contributed to the problem. When you look up Diastasis Recti, many web-sites lead you to believe that it is basically for women who've recently given birth. This is because that is the Largest population of people who have the condition, but, ANYONE, men, women, and children can have this condition. I don't mean to be long-winded, I just wanted to bring it to awareness that if you have a tummy that always pops out, or lower back pain, it might be helpful for you to know this information. I wish I knew about it when I was in my late 20s!!!!... but, hey, better late than NEVER!! :D

    Any luck correcting this? I am dealing with the same problem and so frustrated that my doctor told me to "do the sit-ups" to fix it.

3/23/13: 60 Pound Mark Today!! Over My 1/2 Way Point!!

I am PSYCHED!! I hit the 60 pounds lost mark today! March 23, 2013! Now, I'm past my Half way point by .50 of a pound!! Weight loss has slowed down a lot, but still going in the proper direction!! Happy Girl Today!! YAY!! I thank the Dear Lord for ALL HIS HELP!!!

Today I Hit 50 Pound Loss! Thurs. Feb. 7, 2013

I thank God for all His help in helping me to lose weight in a healthy manner. Today, I hit the 50 pounds lost mark!! Yay! This is especially nice since, I've been on a 19 day hold.... bouncing up and down between the same 3-4 pounds, no real loss. 19 days is a lot of time being "on hold," but, yesterday is the day it finally broke, and today was even better!!

Yay!! 50 pounds gone!! Or, as my husband would say, that's like losing 10 bags of potatoes!! :D

    Congratulations! Plateaus can be so frustrating but I agree with Brooklyn_Born's comments. Viewing the positives is very important too. Even though you aren't losing, you've still made progress and that keeps me on track till I'm losing again.

Don't fear a plateau. It's like being on a hike on a mountain and stopping at a flat place to rest a bit. Maybe your body needs a rest on it's journey. And plateaus are a lot better than going in the other direction and having to retrace your steps.

Tuesday January 15, 2013: Today I hit ONEDERLAND!!!
Today, I hit Onederland!!!! Only if for .4 pounds, it is UNDER 200 pounds!!! 199.6 poounds!! I am PSYCHED!!! THIS IS THE FIRST TIME, since I can not remember when,.... probably at least 11 years, that the FIRST digit on my scale was a 1, and not a 2!!! OUT of the 200s, and into the 100s!!! YAHOO!!! Thanking the Dear Precious Lord for all HIS help!!!! :D :D :D

Today, My Sister's Birthday, plus, New Year's Eve, the last day of the year, December 31, 2012, I hit the 40 pound loss mark!!! YAHOO!! I'm so PSYCHED!!!
