Summer 2010 Biggest Loser Challenge Week 1

Woohoo! Week 1 has come and gone, and I feel great! I admit that there have been a few days that were a struggle to commit to working out, but I found that the daily challenges really were a great kick in the butt. I logged fitness minutes for 6 of 7 days during the week, and I am certain that this is a record for me!! I plan to keep the momentum going, and I realize that it is going to take a lot of dedication and time.

The biggest challenge for me is returning to the habit of tracking my food on a daily basis. When I first joined SparkPeople that was the one habit that I excelled at. Now, I have let that good habit slip, and I realize that my eating habits are not as good as they could, or should, be. Tracking my food intake is also an important strategy for controlling my PCOS. I was recently diagnosed with insulin resistance, and this has been a huge wake up call to maintain a healthy lifestyle and to monitor my food, especially sugars.

This challenge is a great way to push back into healthier habits and to keep active throughout the summer!

    tracking is also a big problem for me. just take it one day at a time i say. i'm sure it'll get easier. have you tracked today?

2nd Bootcamp

I just completed the 1st workout video for the Spark Your Body Bootcamp, which is my 2nd bootcamp, and I am feeling good! I am really excited about participating in another bootcamp, and my biggest goal is to complete the whole month and to stay motivated.

My beginning stats are:
Weight: 132.2
Neck: 13
Waist: 30.5
Hips: 39

My goals:
Stay motivated (especially as work gets busy!!)
Complete each day's workout
Lose 1/2 inch from waist
Lose 1/2 inch from hips
Lose 5 pounds
Feel good about myself and my progress

Starting Bootcamp

Today is the official start of SparkPeople's Sweatsuit to Swimsuit Bootcamp--my first bootcamp!

My starting stats are:
Weight: 139.2
Neck: 13.5
Waist: 33
Hips: 41.5

My goals are:
*To lose 2.5 pounds per week for a total of 10 lbs
*To lose 2 inches from my waist
*To lose 2 inches from my hips
*To feel more energetic!
*To complete each daily workout

    It was tough, but good! I unfortunately, did not finish it out; I got off track after a brief vacation & then I fell & injured my ankle over memorial day weekend. My goals were ambitious, and I didn't even come close to reaching them but it was a great learning experience. I would definitely do it again.

Unhealthy Snacking

I can't believe that in a short period of time that SparkPeople has already helped me. I never realized until I started tracking my nutrition that I fill my daily calorie intake with a lot of "empty" calories from junk food. My new goal is to start replacing the junk food with healthy fruits, nuts, & veggies.
