2011 January Progress Report

Monday, January 31, 2011

Well the first month of being back on track went well. I had a few days where I went over my calorie range but for most of the month I stayed within range. I was very true to my exercise plan and worked out at least 6 days a week. And I still ate delicious food, just less of it. I have lost 6 pounds which is above my goal of 4 pounds a month. I hope to lose 24 more pounds in 6 months and be back to my goal weight. Go me.

Back on Track

Thursday, January 06, 2011

Well I did not meet my maintenance goals the past year and a half. I slowly put on weight about 1 to 2 pounds a month. I stayed very faithful to my exercise program. And I really feel that exercise is a part of my life now as a normal routine. I really enjoy being active. But I didn't do well on portion control. So I need to stop now and get back on track. I can still eat anything I want, I just need to eat less of it. So I'm back on track and am looking forward to reaching goal and maintaining my goal weight again.

Today marks my 1 year anniversary of maintaining my weight loss

Friday, November 28, 2008

Happy day. I can't believe I've done it. I have this great website and all my sparkfriends to thank. What a great support system. I still struggle and some days are easier than others but I have stayed consistent with my exercise which has gotten me through some tough times of eating too much.

I have definately changed my lifestyle and am really enjoying living healthy.

10 month maintenance anniversary !

Monday, September 29, 2008

Today marks 10 months of maintaining my weight loss. Wow ! It feels so good. I've never done this before as I've always been a yo-yo dieter. I think the real difference is I love to exercise now. I enjoy it and look forward to it. Unbelieveable. And I really believe one of the keys to my success is the consistent exercise as that allows me to be able to eat more. My routine is to jog 2 miles six days a week, and strength training 3 days a week.

I also want to thank the spark people community for all their support. Another big key to my success. Thanks everyone !

emoticon I've been wondering how you're doing! I'm within goal, but inches have crept up slightly with almost no exercise in several weeks. I manage only a couple times a week, and none lately with dumbbells. I need to 'rekindle my spark'!

It is really great to see your post, Lynn! Enjoy your week.

Maintaining journey

Thursday, June 19, 2008

Well I've been maintaining for more than 6 months. Longest I've every maintained any weight. I've found lately that it is getting a little easier although I still have to count my calories. It is like a safety blanket for me. Take today for example. I had a hamburger when we went out to lunch which is something I don't do. And if I do have one, I only eat half. But today I ate the whole thing. And I just ate a lighter dinner and was able to stay within my calorie range. I find that if I eat at the high end of my maintenance weight calorie range, I don't feel like I'm depriving myself. Maybe one day this will all be 'normal' to me but right now I am still working my way through it.
The good news is that I'm keeping things in better balance than I was. It feels better.
My plan is to celebrate every month anniversary of maintaining my weight. It is something to look forward to and something I am very proud of.
When I get in trouble I know I have the support of all my sparkfriends on this fabulous website.
Thanks to you all.

Congratulations! You're paving the way for many of us and I, for one, love to hear about your successes.

I'm guessing that "normal" takes quite some time when one is dealing with a lifetime of food issues. It's not as cut-and-dried as giving up other things.

I admire you, my SP friend. Keep up the good work!
