Almost there...

Thursday, July 26, 2012

So...I haven't blogged in awhile, but today is a good reason to. I am almost at my FIRST goal weight. I am 1.5 pounds away from the first goal weight. See, I had to set mile markers in order to follow through. I've set myself up for failure before and I refused to do it this time. This is the first time in all my years of yo-yo dieting that I'm just about there. Let me tell you...it feels great! I have clothes that are too big, clothes that I haven't worn in awhile and finally fit, and there's the ones that aren't quite fitting yet. Mark my words...they will fit some day...soon!

I love hearing the compliments at work. I sometimes feel like a young girl again. What...I'm only 40...I am still young. HAHA! I even had a co-worker tell me that I'm getting too skinny. I never thought I would hear that. If he thinks I'm getting too skinny now, what until I reach my ultimate goal weight (which by the way I'm not sharing until I hit my first goal).

Well, I just had to share it. Now it's time for the ugly...time for work. Keep smiling!!

Small bump in the road...

Thursday, July 05, 2012

It was expected so I'm not disappointed...I had no weight loss this week, but I didn't gain anything either. I knew it was going to happen. It wasn't a normal week for me with the holiday being in the middle of the week. I work Sunday thru Thursday so the holiday really threw a curve ball for the work week. I was off last night, but I have to work tonight and start my weekend tomorrow.

Like I mentioned before, I'm not disappointed. I'm actually a bit relieved. After all, I've been consistent for the last 14 weeks losing every week. I would rather have a zero day than gain a pound. I already got back on track today. I've been watching my eating and tracking everything. So far so good...

Lynn, if you lost every week without fail and never had a week without any loss...well...I'm sorry but 75% off all women working on weight loss would hate you and the other 25% just might lynch you! emoticon

Congratulations for not gaining on a holiday week, that is saying something! 14 weeks of being consistent is something to be very proud of. I hope you realize this! Great job!

Very Proud...

Monday, July 02, 2012

I work nights so it's not uncommon for me to stop at Walmart after work to pick up a few things. It was also SOP (Standard Operating Procedure for those Army folks) to buy some baked goods, a bottle of chocolate milk, and watch my recorded shoes when I got home.

Well...I did have to make a pitstop at Walmart on my home. As soon as I stepped thru the sliding doors, I could smell the aroma of the chocolate donuts. I wanted to give in so bad as I was picking up the iceberg & romaine lettuce. Why did they have to put the produce next to the bakery? Really...one donut wouldn't kill me. I've been doing so well.

Well...I decided that if it was something sweet that I craved, I would have a banana & a few Nilla Wafers (reduced fat of coarse!) while watching my recorded shows. And that's exactly what I did. I am watching "Army Wives," eating a banana, Nilla Wafers, and feeling proud of myself. I guess I do have a little self control. As for the chocolate milk...I think I will enjoy a small glass...with nonfat milk.

YAY, I'm proud of you to! Way to make smart choices!! As far as the chocolate milk, I think as long as it's low fat there's nothing wrong with it. I've seen lots of commercials lately with athletes saying that they drink chocolate milk after their workouts! Keep up the good work!

Oh and they put the bakery next to the produce department to simply test your will power! But you showed them whose boss!

That's what it is all about, Lynn. You did great and deserve to be proud of yourself.

It isn't Walmart only doing this. HEB (at least the one on Oconnor) has it set up so you walk through the bakery before you get to the produce. Some days my knees nearly wobble from the smells wafting through the air. Conspiracy, I tell you!

Last weigh-in for June...

Thursday, June 28, 2012

It may not be the end of June, but it is the last weigh-in for the month. Today I weighed in losing 2lbs bringing my total to 27lbs. I am officially half way to my first goal weight!! Yea me!!

With that being said...I have 10lbs more to lose until I reach my first goal weight. Yes, I said first goal weight. The first goal is a pretty good chunk of weight. Once I bite off that, then I want to take the little bites.

Now that I know my plan & my body seems to be on the same track, I need to get more active. That is not an option. I've been walking at work more which is unbearable because it is so hot. It's so easy to sit in the office and "do paperwork," but I've been getting out into the HOT hub and just walking, talking, & working with the employees.

Here I go...

Thanks...I have started taking extra trips upstairs at work too. I used to be out of breath when I got to the top, but not anymore!!! :)

You are doing great!! Just keep on doing what you know you need to do. You will hit that goal before you know it. Just be smart about the heat. I have climbed the stairs in my office building to avoid the awful heat. Not a lot of fun, but it gets the job done and not as overpoweringly hot as the outside.

You can do it!!!!

Me and physical therapy...

Friday, June 22, 2012

So...for the last 3 weeks I've been experiencing numbing and tingling in my back. It doesn't hurt, just numb and tingle. At first the doctor thought it could possibly be shingles. She said if it isn't shingles, than I've got her "stumped." Not exactly the kind of comment you want to hear from your doctor. Ok...we ruled out shingles. Thank goodness!!!

Well...she decided to send me to physical therapy. She knows that there is some type neuropothy, but isn't sure what is causing it. She seems to think that maybe physical therapy may release a muscle that is pinching a nerve. That brings me up to the present day. Saw the physical therapist...had a consult...she thinks my mid-spine area may not be rotating or not moving the right way causing the numbness and tingling. I guess I'll be seeing the physical therapist for the next 4 weeks.

Doctors are often disappointing! Well at least it wasn't shingles!! I hope that your back issue requires nothing more than physical therapy, as opposed to something more invasive!
