After being in a weight loss coma (kidding)

Sunday, August 03, 2008

Hey you guys! I kinda got out of sorts and quit focussing on the target. Well today I am trying again. Hubby and I walked today, only after he insisted. Boy do I have a great man. After the walk I did feel better and was more encouraged. Sure do need your support. I need buddies. Any takers?

Lynn, I was just thinking about you the other day. You've been gone from our Team (Managining Diabetes 50+ 50+) for so long. You were one of our first members. Hope to see you posting again.

I am here to support you AND you need to be your biggest fan and supporter. You have to want it moe then me and you have to be more accountable to yourself then to me.

this is my biggest help, You be YOUR #1 fan and support, then all of us here at Sparks can fill in when you need a boost.

In truth, you have to want it that much, then trust the program to show you the way to do it.

Good luck and congrats on getting back on track.

Determined!

Sunday, July 13, 2008

I have been on the liver transplant list for 6 years now. The Doctors constantly warn me to lose the weight. I have tried so many times falling short of success. My visit last week really sank in when he told me if I develop liver cancer he would not be able to help me because of the weight I weigh. He is such a kind and concerned Liver specialist. I could not ask for a better doctor. He told me since I had diabetes 2 that if I could get me blood sugar down through lower carb eating I probably will be able to cut down on my insulin I take which is turning what I eat into fat in my body.

Well guess what.....I am determined to lose the weight. I have already lost 4 pounds since my doctor's visit. My body already feels so much better without having to deal with the carbohydrates. I have so much more energy. Can you believe this? I was a heavy carbohydrate consumer. Wish me well. Stayed tuned to a new success story. You will not be disappointed.

Back in the Saddle again.

Sunday, January 27, 2008

Hey everyone. How is it going? Today is the first day of the rest of my life. That was the motto when I graduated High School.

I am once again getting back on Target. I am truly believing what I heard on the Biggest Loser TV show last week. Breakfast starts the course of the day for eating right. I had a vegetables omlet and slices of avocado for breakfast. I am once again not giving up hope. Please don't give up on me.

Another year older

Well, I will just have to walk in the house! Here's to all my new friends, I hope you are having a wonderful time on your new journey.

Lynn, read my sparkmail to you and I forgot. Happy Birthday!!! Remember. When Oprah first started working with Bob Greene he had her outside on a rainy day jogging and she said Black women don't get their hair wet but she did it anyway. Buddle up!! Go for that walk!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

    Happy Birthday.
I too walk in my house. Set the kitchen timer for 30 minutes and walk. Upstairs downstairs, sideways, back wards, march in place and around and around. It makes my pets wonder what is going on.

Help!

Saturday, January 19, 2008

I started the South Beach Diet 1 week ago and my husband's birthday was last night. He asked for cupcakes, so I baked pineapple cupcakes. I ate 5. One, then the second one a little later, third a little later until 5 were eaten by me. What would you call this emotional eating or what. I don't know what my problem is. It seems when it comes to special events I cave. Any suggestions would be truly appreciated.

I followed the South Beach Diet regimen and lost the same 58 pounds three different times...the last time, I realized that the cravings were *enormous* for sweets and pasta and rice and bread...I can remember leaving Whole Foods eating a whole French baguette all by myself. It's sort of disgusting in retrospect.

Desperate, fat and horribly unhappy, I picked up THE BIGGEST LOSER book and followed it [basically, you take your weight and multiply it by seven to get the amount of calories you need to ingest in order for quick weight loss]. I gradually lost almost thirty pounds and I'm on my way to losing another thirty.

You can't deprive yourself...you can't think of this as a diet, it has to be a life change, where you consume a healthy balanced diet with proteins and carbs and you exercise regularly. If you feel deprived, you're going to nosh on pineapple cupcakes like a madwoman, beat yourself and feel guilty, then have to start all over again...

Remember balance.... portion control...exercise... and how badly do you want to do this?

Here's wishing you the best of luck!

Try giving them to the neighbors. =) or else put them in the freezer where it takes more work to thaw it out to eat it. (I know that when I get going like that I want something quick and easy, if I have to work for it 9 times out of 10 I'll just leave it alone)
