Insanity Max Workouts Week 2 Update

Wednesday, April 17, 2013

First of all my thoughts and prayers are with the runners and families who were affected by the bombing at the Boston Marathon. Such a scary thing that I never would have imagined would have taken place at this event.

I saw this photo and from what I heard it is fitting in this situation. People stepped up and helped out during this very scary time.

I am a little behind on my blogs. Here is an updated of my 2nd week of Insanity Max Workouts.

Sunday-I was supposed to work out, but didn't have time. Spent the day shopping and cleaning because we were having people over for dinner.

Monday - Max Interval Circuit
I didn't do this workout in the morning and there were a few distractions but overall a good workout. Stayed within my calorie range.

Tuesday - Max Plyo Circuit
A thunderstorm woke my son up at 4 am. He did not got back to sleep. There was no reason to try to sleep in because he wasn't asleep. He woke up his sister too. Both of them were with me while I worked out. It was fun having a cheering section - my son high fived me after certain workouts and my daughter tried to workout with me. It was fun. Stayed within my calorie range.

Wednesday - Max Cardio Conditioning
I did this workout in the evening. I found myself struggling during certain parts but overall a good workout. Stayed within my calorie range.

I'm feeling pretty good about the Max Workouts. Hopefully nothing major gets in the way so that I can keep pushing play.

Switching things up again

Thursday, April 11, 2013

I am a planner. When I set out to do a program, I create a calendar for the entire thing. If I miss a few days, I throw the whole thing away and start again.

After all the bragging I did yesterday about getting out of bed for my Insanity workout, I did not do it this morning. I quickly forgave myself and said this would be my rest day. While getting ready for work I convinced myself to bring my gym clothes to work and hopefully I could squeeze in a run on my lunch break.

I'm not going to say it was a great run because it has been a long time since I have run, but I felt great after completing it. It was too cold to run outside, so I ran around the track in the gym. They were setting up for an event, but didn't seem to mind me running in circles.

After quite a few ups and downs, I finally feel like I am on the right track. Back to Insanity tomorrow.

Love that picture! It's so true and I'm totally stealing it lol

You sound just like me: I need charts, graphs, tables, tick sheets, spreadsheets, all sorts when I set up a programme! It's the control freak side of us I reckon. But it's so motivating too. Whatever works, eh? emoticon

Day 4 - Mind over Matter

Wednesday, April 10, 2013

My bed was oh so comfy this morning. When my alarm went off, my mind quickly started listing the reasons I should stay in bed - work out later or take the day off and let your muscles rest. I forced those excuses out of my mind and dragged myself out of bed.

The workout today was Max Interval Plyo. This is my least favorite Insanity workout. I pushed through and completed the workout even though my legs were working against me. After the workout, while passed out on the floor, I felt like I accomplished something big. It is weird to say that being passed out on the floor felt greater than the extra hour of sleep. My muscles may not agree tomorrow emoticon

While this is a one month challenge, I am only focusing on one day at a time. Who knows where I will end up on May 1. Right now it is too far away to tell.

Switching Things Up A Bit

Tuesday, April 09, 2013

I have been doing Insanity off and on for over a year. My goal is to complete this program once and for all.

I have written out a schedule that will take me through the first part of May. I am doing Insanity's Max Workouts along with 2 days of P90X. I really miss lifting weights. I think supplementing a couple of workouts a week will keep me from quitting again.

I have a plan for the month to keep my nutrition in check. So far I have been on track, only going over my calorie range a little.

I'm ready to get off this roller coaster and create healthy habits I can manage for life.
