Your loving comments and encouragement mean more than you will ever know.
Sitting here at my computer by myself I am so grateful to know that there are such wonderful, caring and giving people such as you are out there.

In a funk!

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

I know it....am trying hard to fight the temptations to pig out!
Am tired, am bored, hate the weather, kids moved out of town 6 months ago, miss them big time!
Love my friends here on SP and they have kept me from giving up.
So, I'm still here....hoping a little (or a lot) of sunshine is the key to my mood.
Hope you are enjoying your days.....I'm trying to.
Have a good night .....

You have had some very wise counseling here. I think many of us understand and probably are also fighting the gloomies. I like A-LITTLE-DABS response and second the motion. Get a good nights rest and pray for sunshine.

Lyn, I have much empathy for you. I have been in that same rut. It's so easy for people to say hang in there but that isn't what we want to hear. When your down and out the only one that can help you,is you. Take some steps to turn your mood for the better. Exercise is a big mood enhancer. I know how hard it is to get back into a good program for your diet. But we just have to figure it out and then make the strong effort to do it. It being what ever makes you feel better. It's hard I know but. You will really be rewarded for your efforts with happiness and that's a great thing to aspire to. And in the meantime please know that all your spark friends are there for you..Good Luck.

The first step to solving a problem is to recognize it. You are loved Lyn and you are needed. Take some baby steps toward recovery, you will make it. Spring will come.

((((HUGS)))) Lyn! If you can, try to get outside today, especially if the sun is shining. This time of year is so hard, get as much sun on your skin as possible. Fresh air & a little Ultra violet light goes a long way to helping you turn your mood around. Keep your chin up, we are all here for you.

I can sympathize with you...I have had a bad knee for about 3 months now & then this weather here has been cold, snowy, wet...I love to walk & miss it with my pets!
How 'bout you & I going for a virtual walk?
We will pick a "happy" sunny path with fantastic scenery & birds chirping, not too hot...not too cold...we will have a nice healthy chicken salad picnic on a gentle hill with a beautiful view...ha ha
Hugs, Rhonda

    Hi Lyn,
I am so sad that you are not happy tonight. I want my old Lyn back! Have you heard of H.A.L.T? Self help groups use it to avoid a "slip". It means don't get too hungry, angry, lonely, or tired. Sounds like you are hungry, lonely, and tired. We are all vulnerable from time to time. This weather does not help and there is the let down from the holidays. Spring seems a ways off. But right now, this minute, you have your Spark friends to turn to for support. I don't know GloriaB73, but she seems like a good friend. You are my new friend, but you are important to me. Let us lift you up. Tomorrow will be better and if it takes more days, we will be here for you each and every day. May you have peace tonight! May angels keep you company. emoticon

Would love to help you get out of your funk Lyn. How about putting on some jazzy music and pretend I'm there doing the boogie woogie with you? And believe me, if you saw me doing that, you'd be laughing so hard, no funk would hang around. LOL
My days seem to be the same, like putting one foot in front of the other, but I keep thinking of what is coming soon - Spring!!
We've got a bad case of January Blues to deal with so try to envision warm sun, lighter clothes, people, people, people on the streets, smiling, talking, walking their dogs, crocuses peeking through the ground saying "hello".
If you're indoors a lot, try putting on more lights, even during the day! Put a good comedy on TV, sit and enjoy, forget the housework!
What else? Oh yes, remember those who care very much for you - we want to see our old Lyn back! ASAP! Please?
Blog anytime, spark mail anytime, chat on the team anytime - we're always ready to listen!

A good day....

Thursday, January 21, 2010

A good day it has been.

Woke up to the rain....but warmed up to 8*C.
Taped Biggest Loser last night....DH and I had breakfast and then watched together.
The sun came out while we were doing that....so after watching it I took our little Jack Russell for a walk.

It was soooooo much fun today. She was perky, I was perky. The sun can do that to you, ya' know! emoticon
I brought her back....and then took off for another walk around the neighbourhood.
EVERYBODY was out, walking dogs, going shopping, going for walks.
People smiled, nodded their heads in passing saying 'Hello'.

At the local grocery, they have some miniature daffodils in pots outside for sale already!

Spring is in the air emoticonand it has been a good day.

Happiness and health to all you dear SparkPeople!
