It's very interesting....

Monday, March 01, 2010

Even tho' I have 3 meals a day and try to have two snacks.....I am really trying to eat most of my calories in the first half of the day. It's hard. I'm so used to having a BIG dinner. This morning I felt like I was eating 2 breakfasts. One at 8 am and the second at 10:30.....then lunch at 1:30....and when it was afternoon snack time at 3:30, I was still full. So I had another glass of water. Then dinner at 6:00....and I am very satisfied.
If this works, my whole way of life is going to change, even more than it already has.
Oh, and may I add......FOR THE BETTER!!! emoticon

I've been trying to do that too but its so hard with a irregular schedule. Sometimes I eat Breakfast at lunch and don't have a lunch. (cause I work graveyards) But I've been enjoying GenSoy bars which are very yummy and are considered a meal replacement but I also have them on hand when I'm hungry and need something with protein, and satisfying. You can by them at QF as singles... or 16 pack at Costco. There are about 4 flavors I believe. Not that expensive either... like buying a chocolate bar. emoticon
In the past wasn't lunch dinner and dinner lunch?? I think it should of stayed that way. Less food in the evening, better for the tummy.

How would you like eating 6 times a day like me? LOL It takes some getting use to. Kind of like feeding a baby. But it works.

US/Canada Hockey Game....

Monday, March 01, 2010

A little fun info about how people here in BC love their hockey !

First...a family member lives in Surrey in a 14th floor apartment. He loves his balcony garden and was putting in some seeds when the game was on. He had it turned up so he could hear it. He said that when Canada scored their first goal, not only did he hear the cheering from the TV, but he said he must have heard a 100 or more cars honking their horns!!!

My DH had gone down the street to some friends house to watch with a group of friends . I stayed home, wasn't into a noisy aft. So I watched it for a bit , did some puttering and sat and watched the end of the 3 period.
Well, when the USA scored and tied it, the energy coming from watching that game was so intense, I decided I would go outside and prune my Clematis vines...which I did. I knew that DH would update me on the winning team. Both were playing so well, both deserved a gold in my opinion.
I regress...
As I was pruning away in a completely silent neighbourhood....all of a sudden a woman starts screaming from down the street...."they did it, they did it"...and a guy is hooping and hollering at the top of his lungs. Then in the opposite direction I can hear people in a house a few doors down yelling and shouting. Then house after house in the area....sounds of joy reaching my ears!
A car started honking just down the back street, someone started blowing a bugle....and sounds of happy people just filled the air and this quiet town of 20,000 started to move and the atmosphere was filled with the sounds of a happy population.

The last comment I heard from a neighbour about an hour later as they were leaving...."Well...they have bragging rights for at least another 4!"
And then laughter....the car pulled away .....

and my town...(that is a fanatical hockey town by the way) went back to it's routine....with big smiles on their faces.

It has been a good day.

Your story brought tears to my eyes. I could just hear and visualize everything you experienced. What a moment to capture in time! Thank you for sharing those special moments - especially for those of us who must live some things vicariously. I am proud of both teams. Gigi emoticon emoticon

It certainly was a fight to the finish. Two really great Teams and we have to remember that Hockey is Canada's #1 Sport. I think it is Football for the US. But either way, NORTH AMERICA Would have won and did! emoticon

I had to go out so I didn't watch it but if I remember correctly earlier in the olympics the USA beat Canada. This time Canada beat the USA. I would say they are pretty close and I agree they both should have gotten the gold.

It was an awesome, nail-biting and incredible game-
I didn't even care who won!
Canada, and especially BC, should be very proud of presenting the world with an amazing winter Olympics!
Thank you, neighbors!

As a duel citizen (Canadian born, naturalized American) I didn't know which team to cheer for. However, I was surrounded by Canadians and since I live here now, I, of course, cheered for Canada. The US team has nothing to be sad about. It was an amazing game which was played well by both teams. Too bad they couldn't have given out two sets of gold. They both deserved it. However, Canada made some incredible history by now being the country to have won more gold medals than any other country in the history of the Winter Olympics. Go Canada!!!

I was at work cleaning a friend/clients house and she had the game on. I smiled when Canada made the goal and am extremely proud of that team for winning the game. Your boys did a fantastic job. Ours did too. And, I would be hollering up a storm myself.

Great blog! emoticon emoticon

(1) My great grand daughters.
(2) My grandchildren.
(3) My children.
(4) My husband....who supports me so much!
(5) My self esteem.

I love my life, I love my family, God has been good to me and added to all the above I have fabulous friends who also support and encourage me.
And this whole process works. I AM healthier and happier. Now if I could only figure out how to turn the clock back.....oh well, that's my next miracle.

Could you tyell by my spark page that purple is "MY" color so I am on the challenge. When I was still working, (retired in 1981) I looked in my closet one day & realized that everything in there was some shade of purple. So anything or anyone that loves purple has to be a good friend. Right.
