had a great day tdy . went to the gym and picked up where i left off the c25k week 5 day 1!!! i did really good. my goal is to run the tiger trot 5k on april 7. that will be my first 5k.

my eating was on track tdy. even my nighttime eating was good.

a new start AGAIN------really need encouragement

this is a journey. i have to keep my mojo up DAILY and start new EVERY DAY

i havent blogged for a while. i really messed up during christmas. At the same time, around end of December and beginning of January, i was trying to go off Effexor, which i have been on for 8 y rs. i gained about 5-7 lbs. i guess i was hoping i could blame it on going off my meds. i had all kinds of horrible side effects due to going off meds, so i have finally just gave up and went back on medicine. so, hoping that those lbs would magically go away since i went back on medicine, i started eating decently and lighlty excercised. those lbs are still hanging on. God forbid i got those lbs by eating too much at christmas. That cant possibly be the reason i gained weight!!!

so now, i have totally lost my mojo. i was doing c25k and i was in week 4. now, i just am really tired. tired of the battle of the buldge. tired of excersicing. tired of trying to eat healthy with no results

i thought about going back to see Carrie at the ymca. She is a wellness coach who has very successfully lost weight by eating clean. i have gone back to her several times. i just feel like such a failure if i go back again.

i have also figured out that i am aftraid. afraid of failing. what if i go to carrie and i follow everything and dont lose any weight or inches? i know how discouraged i wld be.

i really need some help getting back on track. i know i can count on my spark friends to pick me up and help me with this and help me to get my mojo back.

how slowly should i start my excercise back..maybe i shld start my c25k up from begining. i am open to suggestions.

    thank u so much for your comments. i believe my prob is nightimme eating. it is nothing really bad, but just too much good stuff. i need to track better

i will get the courage and goback to carrie. it is just embarrasing.

    I like the idea of hitting the reset button. I find that when I pretend I am starting over, I just do better and lose bad habits.

    Have you actually been tracking how much you eat - or just seat-of-the-pants eating decently? We can eat the healthiest possible foods, but if we're eating more of them than we should, we aren't going to drop weight. You may well be eating enough, even if it's "decent" food, to maintain your current weight and meet the demands of your light exercise.

Let's ask this - if you go to Carrie and you follow every recommendation she gives, but lose no pounds or inches, how will you feel physically? Will you have more energy? Will your internal body be in better shape? Will you be able to work out longer with more intensity? Will you be healthier?

Now ask this - if you don't go to Carrie and you give up now because of the fear, where will you be in a few months? Will you have lost pounds or inches by NOT going? Will you be doing any more exercising? Will you be feeling any healthier?


Starting over at the beginning of the C25K seems to work for many people. If nothing else, it will make the early levels very easy, but it will keep you from having to guess at where your conditioning is and possibly hurt yourself pushing too far too fast.

    The thing is- if you go back it means you WANT to be successful and will do what it takes to be successful and she will see that. Fall 7 times, get up 8, right?

    I really like the idea of going back to c25k. Ten weeks (I doubled a couple weeks) of doing that when I started out got me through a couple rough plateaus until I learned how my body loses weight and began to trust it. Having a goal that has nothing to do with the scale is fantastic, and making a commitment for a couple months is enough time to see some results.

Sorry you're going through frustration - hopefully the weight gain is just the body reacting to something, and a change in routine will reverse it. Good luck!

day 2 and still on track. been eating good, making wise food choices, getting my excercise back on track.

now it is almost time for weekend, that is hardest part. plus its a holiday on top of it. gonna try, no, not try. i m gonna make sure i track and excercise.

spark people just makes sense to me

tmr goal- gym to do c25k and weights- back and chest.

    Just take it one decision at a time, and remember that even if you'd go back and change one of those decisions, it doesn't wipe out any of the other good ones emoticon

Having a plan is a huge help, especially with exercise, and it sounds like you have a good one. Looks like the recipe for a fantastic weekend!

thank goodness christmas is over. i have had serious heartburn and bloating from all crap foods i have ate in last 4 days. why do we continually indulge if it makes us feel like crap? i guess it just tastes good and for me, being an emotional eater, i eat when i m happy, sad, bored, mad. it just dont matter

my goal for new year- get rid of emotional eating by blogging and tracking. think before i eat.

try new foods

run a 5 k by using c25k app

weight lifting 3x per week

join me on my journey to a new fitter happier me

    It is so easy to lose focus this time of year - good for you for getting back on track emoticon I'm trying to ditch the "start fresh in January" mindset, and just start doing what I know I should be doing NOW...easier said than done for sure!!
