It is confirmed. carbs are evil. I am full and not even exercising as much, yet I am dropping steadily. I don't care if it's water, I just know that I am less puffy than I was on Monday.

    i think your statement applies to most people. However, it appears that whole wheat, whole grain, seeded, fibrous, etc foods that are made with any kind of flour do not agree with me.

I do not tend to pig out on brown rice,sweet potatoes, whole grain pasta, etc. but a whole grain bagel, oatmeal cookies, wheat pizza dough, whole grain crusty bread with butter, that will do me in. It's the flour, I'm certain of it. It is more addictive than sugar for me. I can pig out on 6 donuts, but not on six bags of jelly beans.

I'll bet it is because I am a diabetic. My "no-flour based carbs" revelation is simply a Low Glycemic Index approach. I didn't realize that until I read a few articles about Low GI today.

I'll keep it up and see where it takes me. I won't make a big deal out of having a cookie every now and then, but I will try to make other choices when I can.

    Remember not all carbs are bad. Refined carbs are bad. Way to go on your weight loss!

April 18- 192.2

I am not a doctor, but I know how to interpret facts. The fact is that i have not eaten a flour based carb since Sunday. The fact is that the scale shows a 3 pound loss since Sunday. I have been getting close to 100 carbs from fruit and vegetables. I am lighter, I am less bloated, my glucose is cut in half, and I am happy.
So my diagnosis is that I am allergic to flour based carbohydrates; they make me fat!
I'll have to treat bread like champagne; consume on special occasions only.
My prognosis is good. I can look at my temptation and know that it won't only have an affect on my weight, but it can send me to an early grave with complications.
I want to live a full, long life in the body that I deserve!

Carbs, you can kiss my arse.

    I'm sure I won't give up flour based foods forever, but I MUST enjoy them sparingly if I want to succeed. It's interesting that it is just that one type of food. I eat honey and hard candy everyday, which I don't record, and it does not seem to affect my sugar or weight. But if I eat a third of a cup of oatmeal, fuhgiddaboutit.

When you figure out what your "thing" is, you can control it. It makes sense now why I never lost a significant amount of weight following diets set up by trainers, dieticians, nutritionists, etc. They were always high in "good" carbs, but bad for my waistline.

  That's great!! I can never give up pasta forever, but I did turn to whole foods for a few weeks in February and I definitely noticed a difference. Congrats!

Ok. At least the "bleeding" has stopped. It's time to put this puppy in reverse.
I want to lose this weight so badly, I can taste it.
I'm trying not to go too extreme with low calories and intense workouts, but it is tempting. If I can just stay away from the flour and sugar based carbs, I can do this.
The carbs don't just affect my weight, they affect my glucose. My secondary gooal is to keep my sugar under control so that I can live a long healthy life in the body that I want.

This is why I am crazy obsessed with my weight and nutrition.
This is why I hop on the scale everyday. Had I weighed everyday, I may have caught a smaller spike before this madness occurred.
How can I gain 6 bleeping pounds over the weekend when I have been so disciplined the entire week?! I had 2 glasses of wine and 4 cookies in addition to my normal low carb healthy diet. Really? Is my body that goshdarned sensitive to sugar?

So, guess what. I am off all carbs except for fruit and vegetables, and drinking protein shakes for breakfast and lunch until I get to 185, which is where I should have been had I not had this spike. I'm drinking lots of water and chewing gum like a maniac.

Maybe I should just get my jaws wired, lose 30 pounds, then maintain after that.


Frustrating is too weak a word to describe how I feel.


April 10- No Weigh in

Eating healthy takes the weight off slowly so it will only frustrate me if I jump on the scale everyday.
So I'm trying to wait until Thursday before I get back on.
I'm still having trouble getting my calories up and keeping my carbs down.
I'm not hungry, though. I'm eating every few hours and sipping coffee, tea, or bouillion in between.

    Ah cheese and nuts. I am hit or miss on eggs unless they are in a quiche. But good cheese, I can't get enough of. Thank you!

    That is great that you aren't feeling hunger! Yes there is no point in obsessing. Once a week should be enough to sustain you ;)

As for Calories vs. Carbs try eating more Eggs, cheese and nuts are some common ones, try giving those a go!
