Why I have been Gone for a month!

Sunday, February 09, 2014

Winter has been bad for a lot of us across the Country, for me it has been very depressing. I don’t have a car, which probably is a good thing in regards to my nerves as I am petrified of driving in the winter after sliding a few times and once landed in a snow bank. However being stuck indoors adds to the depression. I was doing ok until my hard drive crashed the middle of December. Last week I borrowed my Granddaughter’s laptop. Not being able to track what I eat has been hard to stay on track. I did ok until I got sick after Dec. 24th when my Granddaughter gave me the viral infection that had been going around. I was always tired, too tired to exercise but not too tired to eat, all the time. I ate whatever I had, couldn’t go anywhere.

So glad to be back on SparkPeople. Getting my new computer this week. Laptop is too sensitive for me. Later.......

Wednesday, July 10, 2013

Planning ahead is what I have been trying to do for days, or years and still find myself wondering daily what to eat for the next meal. The weight gain I have had recently with all my excuses is evidence that I need to plan ahead and stay with what is planned. Also planning my workouts with my meal plans. So, Tomorrow, Breakfast: 1/2 an orange, Cereal, Cheese Toast and Black Coffee. Lunch: Tuna Salad Sandwich. Dinner: Baked Chicken, Potato, Carrots, Decaf Black Coffee. (3) Snacks: Pepperidge Farm Baked Naturals Simply Pretzel Thins; Nonni's THINaddictives (100 cals) 3 in pack. I usually just have one, they are so good! Activa Yogurt. I am going to the farmers market on Saturday to get some veggies and fruit! Have a great day eating HEALTHY!! emoticon

Here's keeping me accountable:

Monday, July 08, 2013

I got back from walking at 6 pm. I walked 5600 steps total and 5535 aerobic steps for 1.85 miles in 50 minutes and burned 177 calories. Heart Monitor: Avg Heart Rate: 119 Max Heart Rate: 143. Sun was hot and I got a little burn on my face and knees. I cool down with Coach Nicole from Cardio in a Blast DVD when I got back. Now I am having a Chef's Salad for dinner. I should sleep good night, hope you do too.

My Day!

Monday, July 08, 2013

At eight o'clock this morning my granddaughter woke me up to tell me we didn't have any electricity. It didn't come back on until 1:30 pm. I had planned to have eggs and sausage for breakfast but around 11 am I finally gave in to cereal. When the electric came back on I made coffee and had eggs and sausage for lunch. When I was getting ready to go walking it starting pouring out. It is 3 pm and clearing up so I am going to walk before dinner. Walking is the best cardio I can do to get off this weight I have gained. I have a tendency to get depressed over it but that only makes it worse because the negativity only makes me feel like giving up and I WON'T give up!

SparkCoach: What's your pre- and post-workout fueling plan? Jot down your ideas in a quick blog pos

Saturday, July 06, 2013

I get up in the morning, eat a healthy breakfast, let it settle and then workout. I am diabetic and I have to eat before or soon after I take my metformin and I can't workout on an empty stomach. It has been working for me so far. I should include more healthy snacks after working out though, especially fruits.
