lazy bum

thanksgiving last week and my birthday this weekend = lazy and lots of food.
started school this month and decided that morning work outs are my best bet. my biggest obstacle is that my class is on wednesday nights so thursday morning I'm too tired for a work out, and from there its hard to get up friday morning. my fitness minutes for novemeber were pathetic. need to figure something out to get my motivation back.

So ive been having trouble with my motivation to go to the gym after work since its now dark when I get off. It already feels so late that all I want to do is cuddle up in bed. So this morning I got up early and hit up the gym before work. I prefer to exercise in the mornings but getting up at 445 can be a challenge lol hopefully I can keep this up. Although going to bed by 9pm at my age feels pretty lame. I want to make morning workouts a habit before I. Start school because I know my evenings will be filled with homework. I really don't want to gain that freashman 15 I managed to avoid the first time!

Just got home from visiting some friends in kansas and now it's time to buckle down! my friend is doing insanity and we were supposed to do it fri and Sunday buuuuut that didn't happen. Now I only have two days to reach my thousand minutes a month goal :-/ which means no vacation recovery day for this girl. On the bright side we did find an awesome deal on a pair of sweet Nike's, that allowed for us to also get new pairs of boots for only a $1! Having matching workout gear with a friend is fun and I'm always excited to put new shoes to use. This week may require some serious sauna detox, because although I didn't dress up for the Halloween celebration, that didn't stop me from drinking like It. ;) which in turn resulted in a stop to burger king at 2am....need I say more. Shameful

    Saturday was my "Halloween celebration" as well, and I, too, stopped to get McDonald's at 1am. Ha. Oh well! Today's a new day, and we are going to kick it in the butt! Go get some fitness in! emoticon

Family exercise day

Went to the park with my parents and our dogs today. While they walked the dogs around to "read the doggie news" I ran around the park. It was the first time I've ran this park in a few yrs and I swear it used to seem impossible to run the whole thing but today i did it in 10 minutes...I guess its only a mile haha but it was a good warm up for some disc golf. I also have not played disc golf in a few months and before that about a year so my skills werent as "awesome" as they used to be. It was a fun day at the park though. Lots of ppl and music going on, I even did the chicken dance while waiting my turn on one of the holes. We dont usually keep score but we thought we'd do it today...lets just say my mom and I started the score over twice. Its nice to do athletic activities with my family and make it fun, so its not the same boring workouts all the time.

feeling awesome

yesterday i jogged around the block a couple times and really felt it. Running outside is so different than inside on a track. my lungs have a hard time getting used to it. I tried to take my dog Lola with me and shes just a lil dog so she didnt make it far before I felt like I was pushing her too hard, and she was giving me a look like what did i do to deserve this lol After I dropped her off I continued running and did pretty good, even got a honk from a passing car, which i know was some perv but hey I'll take a complement haha My legs were burning afterward and it made me feel great. For the first time I really experienced the energy running gives you after the workout. If I could force myself out of bed at 4am to workout before work, that would be optimal but I know I just cant do it so i guess I'll just stick to after work.
