Working 12 hr shift make it hard to eat healthy . I have used a idea on sparks people and I made a few healthy meals ahead of time so I know the calorie count, and nutrition count so I do not have to think to eat healthy

starting over

Ok this is my starting point. I began sparks people and was doing great but failed to be consistent. I have made all kinds of excuses. I could barley keep up on the vacation. My back was hurting. I got up before work today to start chair exercises like I had a year ago and then ran a 5k. This pic shows me if I do not do something about my weight I will die. I have made some major life changes I have went to day shift. Now I have to focus on my health.

Starting a new sparks streak

School, work and life are in full gear right now. I just signed up for the February challenge to get at least ten minutes of exercise every day. I have to post my success to my blog to be accountable. I just want to thank everyone for their support it mean a great deal. emoticon

    Good for you. Keeping on keeping on. Exercise is important. But if weight loss is also in your goals, then measuring, counting calories, and writing everything in the SP tracker that we eat is far more important. I am on Day# 167 of this process.

I tried something new

Yesterday they had a free weight loss hypnosis session at the local library. My husband and I went to try something new and it was free. We have no idea if it will work. It was relaxing and eye opening. He talked about the importance of drinking water, eating only until you are full, leaving half of your food on the plate, sleeping well and being more active. Most important you have believe the hypnosis will work. All of the information was reinforce on the sparks page. It is fun to try new things

  Basically it's giving yourself self talk which I think all of us who have struggled with weight and are now losing do this on a daily basis. I just don't agree with purposely leaving half on your plate unless you're having a fattening meal out. Food is expensive and I don't believe in wasting on purpose. I believe in cooking for yourself in a healthier way and put a reasonable portion on your plate only.

The new year

Dave and I signed up for a five k in our town. We have to start training for it. The last few days it has been really cold so we have been exercising together inside. This is the year that we have decided to get our health in order and get things done. I read that you should not set to many goals at one time to be successful. While we have broke that rule because we set a goal in every area of our life. I will keep track of our journey and see how we do. One is to go to church more often and to tithe as we are suppose to so off to church we go.
