End of the Fall Challenge

So I had some ups and some downs this fall. I had a great running season and got up to 10 miles in my training for the Half I was supposed to do the first weekend of November. Unfortunately I also developed IT Band syndrome which made it impossible to run past 5 miles after I did that 10 mile run :( I gotta say that I was pretty depressed that I wasn't able to do a half this year as planned and trained for. I'm doing my best to pick myself up by my bootstraps and move forward though, remembering that there will be other races and the important thing is to make sure I can continue running...not to kill my running career for this one race. It is hard though as I was on track to PR as I had hoped. So I got sort of down in the dumps about this whole thing and didn't pay attention to my eating as well as I should have and I didn't lose as much weight as I had hoped, but I did still lose some and that is good.

I'm moving forward now. I've got a plan in place to treat the ITBS and the most important thing to me right now is that I can continue running, so I'm focusing on that this winter. I hope I can lose these last 7 lbs to reach my goal, but over the winter I will be happy just to maintain!

  


Reflecting: Fall Challenge Start!

So here we are...start of the fall challenge...I am 3.1 lbs away from being considered at a healthy BMI...which has been my goal for SO LONG...I'm gonna make it happen here pretty soon...mostly that is all I want...to be healthy...but to be well within that healthy boundary so that I'm not so hard on myself if I slip a little...and I can bounce back easily without feeling badly about myself because I crossed that "boundary"...Hoping to lose 8 lbs this fall to get to a healthy BMI and to be a few steps over the line to make sure I have some wiggle room for the winter...which is my toughest time of year for weight maintenance...let alone loss...here we go!

End of the Summer challenge!

So here we are at the end of the challenge...and I am 5 lbs lighter. I'm super happy with that, as I know that it's harder and harder to take the lbs off the closer I get to my goal weight...4.1 lbs to a healthy BMI! So close! and 9 lbs to my goal weight...not far off and hoping that the fall challenge gets me there!

So I've had a 1 lb loss 2 weeks in a row...VERY happy with that...that is exactly where I should be and I HOPE to keep the streak alive! :) I know I can do this!

down 3.2 lbs in 5 weeks...wish that it wasn't so slow but glad it's going in the right direction...I have to be more disciplined on the weekends, it's just so hard to be focused every minute of everyday.
