Struggling but getting back on track

You cannot follow two paths so choose one path and stick with it! I tried to follow sp as well as my fitbit. Fitbit says exercise more eat more. So says eat in your range and exercise to lose. I am back in the game now! Let's go sp!

Well I was doing very good with my exercise, eating and tracking until I pulled muscles in my hip while walking. Needless to say I have not been walking like I was. Since I am not getting the exercise I was before I needed to cut back on my calories, so I have started having a protein fruit smoothie for breakfast and I am having more fruits and veggies for my other two meals along with some lean protein. I have made progress with some family issues and I have kept my motivation up so far. I am going to try to get back to exercise a little at a time. I just hope the muscles continue to heal instead of hurting again.

    Don't give up on exercise ... check out some of the physiotherapy sites online to find out what you CAN do...

Maybe swimming, maybe rowing, maybe an elliptical or weight workout...

A pulled muscle is a good reason to get STRONGER, not to quit.

It's been a while...

I was writing a blog at least 2-3 times a week but haven't had a chance lately. I have been doing quite well with my eating and exercise. I have lost a total of 50 pounds as of a couple weeks ago. I haven't been on the scales since then though. I did measure myself a couple days ago though. I was very pleased to find that I have lost a half inch more from my waist as well as a half inch from my upper arm and from my neck. I know I am losing inches and I am curious about my weight. I may brave the scales tomorrow :) I also know I am feeling much better than I was a year ago. I have also realized that my sugar level has a lot to do with my exercise as well as the foods I eat. I get discouraged at times when I think how far I have left to go in this weight loss journey but then I stop and think about how far I have come, how great I feel already, and I remember that I am about a quarter of my way to my goal.

I know that this needs to be a lifestyle for me and not just a quick fix. It is amazing how many people want the easy, quick fix for their health and weight issues but I know that each person has to figure these facts out for themselves. They need to experience the ups and downs on their own without being told the facts. Many people don't like to be told the things that they can't do. This is all a part of life and some of the life lessons people have to experience. I had to experience it on my own and when people tried to tell me what I needed to do I felt even worse because I felt like they looked down on me or thought badly of me. I so wish that SP would have been around years ago and that I would have known about it. I feel like the best thing I can do is tell others about SP and how helpful and full of info the entire site is when someone expresses an interest in wanting to improve their health and lose weight. Well I have been working on getting 10K steps a day and actually hit 70,500 yesterday for the past 7 days! :) I am noticing that it is getting easier to get those steps and still be able to have energy for other things. I used to feel dead after doing 10K steps in a day ;). I am stuck with my weight right now so I know I need to add some other activities or adjust somehow. I am going to try to include my weight training 3 times a week again. I have been trying so hard to fit in the steps that I end up out of time and energy. I am regaining the energy and need to do the weights even if only 10 minutes for now. I know I am losing inches I just wish the pounds would go down too!

Happy Wednesday Progress

I measured myself this morning and I have lost at least 2 inches in some areas on myself in the last year. I know this has been slow but it also took me a long time to gain all this weight. I was happy this morning when I put a shirt on that I haven't worn in a long time because it was too tight. I used to feel very uncomfortable in it. Today when I put it on I started laughing because it is actually baggy on me! :) Loving the little bonuses in this journey!
