Blog 58: Bon Jovi & Biopsy

That's right...I'm experiencing both today.

I have a Bon Jovi concert tonight with a bunch of girlfriends. I can't wait...I'm so excited.

I had to go to a dermatologist today about the rash that I recently blogged about. With prescription medications it refused to clear up. The dermatologist knew that I had enough of it and said that we will get it figured out. She said with the meds I've been on (AND HAVE TAKEN AS PRESCRIBED) it should have been at least much better by now. She said it actually looks like 3 or 4 different things. She went ahead and did a biopsy of it to get to the answer. She knew I was tired of "trying" things. She agreed that it was time to nip this problem. I'm so glad she is being aggressive about helping me get resolve.

Gotta run...lots to do before I head out for the show tonight.

Blog 57: Why didn't anyone tell me that getting old sucks?

Ha! Just kidding. Many have told me.

This past weekend I was working in my yard using a pick axe. I swung, got it into the ground, then stepped on the wood handle and it slipped from under my foot and pulled a muscle in my back. OUCH!!!!

Needless to say I'm staying away from pick axes.

I remember the days when I could do anything and it wouldn't hurt my body like it does now. Kids really do have it too easy. LOL!

Well, I've lost another 4 pounds...taking my total to 14. I'm thrilled. I'm also over rushing the process. I'm a slow loser and I have to work with what I have been given.

    I hope your back feels better soon! emoticon on your pounds removed! I too have recently decided to go easy on this weightloss thing. Trying to eat more healthily but not too strangely that I feel too deprived, and be more active, not even real "workouts" so much...I'm excited for Spring and all the fitness I can do outdoors, but I'm not gonna rush this time either!     I hope your back starts feeling better soon! Put a heating pad on. If you don't have one, try putting dry rice in a sock or some fabric sack and microwave the whole thing for 1 minute. Works wonders!

Even though you did throw out your back, I think it's pretty awesome that you were using a pick axe in the yard. Sounds like ultimate HG TV stuff going on there! lol

Ah, I remember the days when I used to run around all day and still feel unlimited amounts of energy. Now, I always feel like I need a nap! lol. Oh the truly golden days were spent in my early youth. It makes me wonder how we'll all feel in our 80s and 90s. I'm sure the ladies at church would put me to shame with their energy. I blame the years of soda. emoticon

And a HUGE congratulations on the 4 lbs. lost! I'm so happy for you! I love it when big results like that just sneak up and make your week.

I can empathize with the slow losses. I'm lucky if I can lose 1 lb. in a week. It takes me about a month before my body actually shows the total loss of weight. It can be rather frustrating.

    Working on your yard with a pick axe? Wow, and I thought my soil was bad! My sympathies on this. I wailed away at a pile of wood with an 8-pound maul on Sunday, and now I find my right shoulder curiouslyly immobilized by pain. But hey, that's why we have two of each limb, right?

Blog 56: Strange Day

I haven't felt like my normal perky self all day. I feel run down. I am not upset about anything, I slept great, and have been eating very well. I am pretty sore today and I'm wondering if that is contributing to this feeling.

Anywho...I've got yoga tonight. Hopefully that helps.

    We all have our off days. It was probably just your body mending muscles and changes in weather. But the good news, muscle mending ups your calorie burn just a smidge. That and it could be a chemical balance thing. Our hormones tend to make the decision sometimes on how we feel. :/ So lame. lol

Anyways, I hope you're feeling peppier now and are enjoying your yoga workouts. :)

Blog 55: Spared by mother nature

Yesterday we were expecting major hail. It looks like mother nature just wanted to get us wet and spared us from being pelted by hail. That works for me.

Yesterday I went to yoga class and again had the best time. I enjoyed it so much and missed it so much from last week that I actually woke up early to do a 20 minute yoga routine. It is truly amazing how stiff my body is when I just get out of bed. I tried to do a forward fold in the beginning of my morning routine and couldn't believe that I could hardly fold over.

I talked to my yoga teacher last night who is also a personal trainer and nutrition coach about my goals with food. She gave me tons of great suggestions and told me to try them for 2 weeks. She said if I'm not happy with the results then to go back to doing what I was doing.

I will give a full report at the end of the 2 weeks with her suggestions.

Tonight I was supposed to walk, but it is still raining. I'm crossing my fingers and hope the rain goes away because I would much rather walk today than row. My hips are sore from yoga last night and I would rather stretch them out with a walk instead of cramp them up on my row machine.

Blog 54: It looks like hail tonight

Generally Central Texas sees damaging hail around Easter. It looks like we will be getting that nasty stuff today.

Should we get hail that means I will have a busy day tomorrow. I work for State Farm, so bad weather = extremely busy days for me.

To be honest I don't mind being busy at my job for catastrophic events. I actually think that is one of my favorite parts of the job. Gemerally everyone is nice and reasonable and patient.
