On doing AM workouts

Friday, August 06, 2010

Everything I have accomplished in my fitness life has come from slow and deliberate change, never doing too much that my absolute distaste will tolerate for a minute or two, but no longer, and the inevitable backlash happens. I started with doing wall squats with the ball while still in my pajamas and brushing my teeth. Yup! Push-ups? with mouthwash, of course! So long as I hadn't made it official it grew into a wonderful routine, albeit slowly constructed.

Great idea - I am going to start this. I am thinking squats while I blow dry my hair.

Stop Binge Eating - Log your Episodes

Sunday, June 27, 2010

"The change process starts with logging your episodes of binge eating on a daily basis,
so you can become more aware of the thoughts, feelings, situations, times, and
locations associated with them. We recommend that you record at least eight to ten
episodes before going on to examine the patterns."

Then there are the catagories, like: DATE, Risky Time or Place, Thoughts, Emotions, Stressful Stituaions.

I'm completely out of touch with hunger for my body's sake, and only know bingeing, or eating what I want, when I want to, and as much as I like. Which is why I still have 40 or so pounds to lose. Behavior Modification for me seems hopeless.

Do I know when I'm nervous? Disgusted? Lonely? Happy? Or is it all just "hungry" to me? So, this is my job: to know what Body Hunger is.

This is tough for me too, and I struggle with restricting and overexercising, but it used to be more on the binging side. Now when I "binge" it's on liquids or exercise... I almost never feel hungry. It sucks.
