2 pounds, I'll take it

Saturday, September 11, 2010

I loss 2 pounds this week and I'm so happy. That is a total of 10 pounds since I started July 20th. I haven't yet utilized my membership at the gym yet since I been going to therapy for my shoulder and lower back. Tomorrow I want to workout for an hour and then go to the pool and do some of the exercise they showed me at therapy. I saw the chiropractor yesterday for the first time and I really like him. He could see that I had a hard time getting on my stomach on the table so he said I can be on my back for the electrodes or whatever they're called. On the form that I filled out I said that I plan to go to the gym 4 times a week so he is holding me to it plus 1 pound a week. He really cares about his patients and not only out for their money. I feel good about myself that I have gotten my lazy woo-ah off the couch and trying to do something about my health.

There are so few doctors out there who really care about their patients. We have found one too and he will actually call us at home to see how we are doing after starting a new medication or something like that. God bless the ones like that.

Labor Day Weekend

Sunday, September 05, 2010

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Labor Day weekend. This morning I went to my 3rd Weight Watcher meeting and I loss .8 pound. This wasn't much, but it was better than gaining. After the meeting I picked up my mom to stay with me for a week. We stopped at one of my favorite restaurants for a late lunch, early dinner. We both had a bowl of clam chowder and baby green salad which had raisins, walnuts, small little dried cranberries and crumbled blue cheese. It was so good. Of course I had to get a slice of their chocolate cake to bring home. We shared it 3 ways so it wasn't all that bad. I could have ate the whole thing. :) I haven't used any of my weekly points yet or all my daily points. I know as I lose weight, my daily allowed points will go down so I should take advantage of it while I can.
Off to the gym tomorrow and Monday.

    Hi there,
Any loss is better than a gain and a pound gone is a wonderful thing. I have been thinking about going back to Weight Watchers with my daughter. It was a good private time for us and adds yet another way for me to be accountable into the mix. I am glad that I read your blog. The only thing that worries me is if it would take away my spark time with journaling points again. I don't know, if it keeps me in line, I think it is worth it.

Congratulations on your success--both at the scale and at the restaurant. You made some very healthy (and tasty) choices. good for you!!

Yesterday was my second Weight Watchers meeting and I lost 2.7 pounds for the week. I set back my weight tracker to the weight I was when I started WW because I know it is accurate and it will be the only scale I use. I love attending the meetings because the leader is such a live wire. It makes a difference who the leader is. My son just got done cooking a wonderful healthy dish that had slices of lean pork, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, onions, garlic and ginger over a 1/2 cup of rice. YUM!!!! I usually let him do the cooking since he looks for recipes that I can eat and keep within my daily points. Good son, I think I will keep him. emoticon
My youngest boy Stephen who is 13 is my gym and therapy helper. He helps me set the equipment at the gym and at therapy he watches while the gal shows me exercises for my shoulder so I can do them at home. I will keep him too. emoticon
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Tomorrow is gym day.

emoticon emoticon on the loss and the great kids. We had a family activity here yesterday in preparing 8 zucchini from our garden. I had two of my sons who were peeling them and removing the seeds, my husband and son were grating them up--my chopper is on the fritz and it has to be done by hand, I was measuring ingredients, another of my sons was mixing this big container of batter and my youngest daughter was baking zucchini cookies. I got the recipe here at SP and they were listed as one WW point apiece. We made 15 dozen of them and now have some in the freezer. I also have 3 bags of grated zucchini ready for making more bread in the frig--if I had had to do that work all alone with my hands and body in the shape they are in, I would still be peeling.
You are doing so well, keep up the great work!!
Gentle hugs,
Sylvia

First time I was happy going to the doctors

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

I went to see the doctor this morning and he was so pleased with me. My sugar level has come way down and he thinks the next AC1 test will be in the 7s which is a lot better than 10 like before. My triglycerides and cholesterol were in the low normal range and my Vitamin D that was very low is now normal. According to their scale I have lost 16 pounds since my last weigh in last Friday. I think the doctor's scale may be off so I won't get too excited about it. I will see this Friday when I weigh in at Weight Watchers. Later today, I will meet with my trainer at the gym. I am sure she will add some machines to my workout. I am taking it slow because I haven't been active for a very long time. I am so pleased with myself and sticking to healthy eating. emoticon

that is so fabulous! i have ALWAYS hated stepping on the scale, because, inevitably, someone was going to tell me i needed to lose some weight, and maybe that would help whatever problem i was having at the time. now, i look forward to doing it, and waiting to see their reaction when they see how much i have lost! keep up the great work youve been doing. you are awesome!
