I really like your quote of the day... Quote of the Day: “Don't compare yourself to others. Compare yourself to the person you were yesterday.” Report Inappropriate Comment |

I'm looking for feedback with this entry. Since it's been a rough month, I'm trying to find ways to help myself re-focus, re-commit, and mix things up.

I started out using a tracker very similar to that and I just hated how it always added calories to what I needed to eat when I exercised. It just never made sense to me. If it worked for you at all you might consider tracking on both the app and sparkpeople. That way you get to see how your exercise factors in but you'll still have a concrete range established if you feel the other is to permissive. I think you were smart to catch the risk that you were taking in using the app and doing what it was tempting you to do. On one hand you might consider continuing to use the app because overcoming that temptation would be a huge motivator and make you feel more in control. I doubt any of this was of any real help. I see benefits to both trackers though personally I like to have my range already established for me.

you learned something about yourself - look at it as a needed step to keep on the overall right track. I recently figured out that out in my life. It was more cost effective to get an unlimited exercise class pass so I did. But then there was no $ penalty to me when I missed a class. (The studio I like has a registration website and classes do get filled up so just dropping in doesn't work.) Now I'm back to paying for the package of classes so each class that I attend or register for and don't show for has a cost. That will get me there getting my money's worth. We continue to learn about ourselves. It's not a bad thing. Report Inappropriate Comment |
