I'm thinking that productivity really has to do with your personality type. In my work environment I get super annoyed when people want to sit around an plan things. I'm such a go for it person. I know things are different when working in a group or working individually, but I find I am much more productive if I just dive right in. If I take the time to plan, I generally lose interest and would rather nap. Ha.

Very good points... I can't watch it since I heard that they can choose not to eat at all before weigh - ins and I do not support that type of weight lose. I hope that isn't true.

They should create a season where the participants have real challenges like-
No time for a healthy dinner until 8:00 due to sports activities
Stress at work and constant lunchroom treats
Family gatherings
Etc
The journey is easier without the distractions of real life, having only healthy food in the house, and a dedicated trainer to help with 8 hours of exercise. The challenge for the contestants occurs when they no longer have the safety net of the ranch and they have to live their real lives.
Bottom line it's television, for our entertainment. emoticon

My opinion is everyone is entitled to their own opinions and choices, TBL is an optional show to watch or participate in. What do you think?

I usually love the Biggest Loser, but there's little reality to this show. For all the drama, there are hours and hours of workouts followed by aftercare by trainers and physcians. I wish the show would get real - it takes more than what they show to lose that kind of weight in 4 months.

So I don't have the time to blog about this right now, but I had about 2,000 calories for dinner tonight, putting me at nearly 3,000 for the day. I have had entirely too many cheat/flex days in the past month. I feel like I'm doing something wrong if I am constantly wanting to cheat. And part of me wonders if there is any self-sabotage going on, since I'm only 0.8 pounds away from the 50-pound mark. I will have to figure out what needs tweaking sometime in the near future. Maybe tomorrow, because it's past bedtime now.

Anyway, on to the entries!

hehe....I kinda do that supplement idea....if I'm craving pizza, and need it quick, I'll take one of my hubby's frozen mini pizzas (200 cals each) and add some yummy veggies and chopped chicken that I keep on hand in the freezer and then add a salad to it...satisfies every time!
I really hope that you can figure out what is causing you to have so many cheats...I'll bet it has a lot to do with over scheduling...please take some time to take care of you...some things WILL be ok for a day or two...you are top priority!

First off, I wanted to say that I have tried HerbaLife products. And though they taste good, there nutritional value wasn't what I needed. They are too carb heavy, and I need a low carb and sugar diet because of my PCOS and IR. They didn't help me lose any weight, and I really only made them once or twice a day so I wouldn't have to make a breakfast or lunch. They didn't fill me up or anything like that. Plus I bought my products through my cousin who sold the products.

Secondly, it is a bit of a scheme. They tell you, you need to buy the beginning set, which is much more than you can handle, and will probably end up losing money. Unless you can find people willing to buy through you, it will cause more issues than you need and want.

Thirdly, Shakeology, which is BeachBody's version is pushing HerbaLife and like minded companies out of the way. Shakeology, with I don't agree too either for various personal reasons is the nutritional line associated with BeachBody, the company responsible for P90X, ChaLean Extreme, Brazilian Butt Lift, Insanity, and Hip Hop Abs. It really is just a marketing scheme, both HerbaLife and Shakeology.

You can find better products that taste just as great at your local health food stores. From places like Whole Foods, GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, and even Walmart has "shake" systems that are better for you than those from these companies. Plus they are less to buy.

And a side note, if you decided to go with one of these systems, whether from a store or an order company, makes sure you read the serving size. Many times the sellers will give you a sample of there product made with whole milk and more product than the serving size suggests for a better flavor. I have found if you just decease the amount of liquid recommend, you get the same result (duh!). So instead of using 8 oz of water or low fat milk or milk substitute, use 6 oz. Then if you get into the milk or milk substitutes you can always use 4 oz milk and a little water to top it off.

Make sure you look at the fiber, carb, sugar, and protein content of the shakes. Make sure they are low in sugar (though most have around 9 grams of sugar and zero fiber) and low in carbs. You can find carbs in everything almost. Plus if you go with milk, you'll get enough sugar and carbs to support a healthy recovery. If there instead a lot of fiber, trying adding ground flax seed to your shake. Also make sure there is fat in there, or you add some healthy fat. Without fat, your body won't be able to metabolism a lot of the vitamins and minerals added into the shake. Which is a waste.

And another thing. If you are taking any kind of medication, be careful. I am on Metformin, and I can't drink my Vega vegan shakes anymore because of the fiber content. It's so high that it goes right through me not 30 minutes later. Most store shakes have small one or two size samples which I highly recommend getting. Also be careful if you have an egg allergy. Most of these are made with whey from eggs.

Good luck with everything and sorry I rambled on!

I'm glad you are keeping up with your blogging even if you can't quite squeeze in reading other blogs! :)

I think you should listen to those red flags and stay as far away as possible! Maybe the challenge sounds ok but I would be wary about even using the products. They suck up your money, and unfortunately there are no real shortcuts when it comes to losing weight. Otherwise don't you think EVERYONE would be using it? Yes, they certainly would. Best of luck!

I agree there are far too many herbalife products available, just like you said about finding them on ebay. My friend bought them off ebay, lost 30 pounds in maybe 2 months and when she stopped she gained it all back and is now at her all time highest weight.

I just think there are a lot of people that are trying to sell that stuff and they have it sitting in their house collecting dust. If there is a ton on ebay, you would almost have to "take a loss" or "not make much" to lower the price to get someone to buy yours. :(

I read your post, and while I haven't tried Herbalife, I have tried other "pills" and let's just say it's BAD NEWS! :) There is no better way to get healthy than to use the right fuel for your body (whole clean foods) and daily exercise and activity.

With regards to the business opportunity - There are several things that freak me out for you:

1. No shortcuts. In the quest for sustainable life changes there are no shortcuts. Pills like that can cause damage to your body. I would stay away from industrialised foods and food like products. Your body needs the nutrients found in lots and lots of veggies and fruits and animal proteins and whole grains- not what is in some pill formed to make money. "Eat food. Not tOo much. Mostly plants." has a lot of truth to it.

2. Those red flags are HUGE! They have been sued? There is an overabundance of products? You have to pay to join? Big red flags dearie. These should have you running for the hills.

3. Herbalife is not around to "help people". They are there to make money. It's not a charity case, it's around to make money and lots of it. :(

I know it feels exciting to have a new opportunity, but this is one that personally I would pass up and run from. Better opportunities to promote healthful eating and activity will come. Sure they may be less sexy, but they will be all the more beneficial.

Good luck with whatever you decide!
