Something Tells Me I Really Should Buy The SP Cookbook...

Sunday, April 08, 2012

I'm a super picky eater. I'm doing my best to expand my palate, but it's definitely slow going. Not only am I picky eater, but I know verrrry little about cooking. I decided to check out the SparkPeople Cookbook from the local library (not gonna lie, I partially wanted the points!). As I read it (cover-to-cover), I placed a little post-it tab on each page with a recipe I thought I'd like to try sometime (even some recipes with ingredients I wouldn't normally touch!) Since I'm so picky and such a novice in the kitchen, I naturally assumed that I wouldn't want to try the majority of the recipes in there. Well, by the time I had finished reading the cookbook cover to cover, this is what it looked like:

The sheer number of tasty-looking recipes in there, coupled with the huge amounts of helpful tips and tidbits have me hooked. It's definitely time to buy it! And tomorrow I'll be trying my first 3 recipes from the book. Wish me luck!

Your post made me laugh -- yeah, I think you may need to get your own copy of the cookbook! My favorite recipe from it is the Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken -- did you tab that one?

That's awesome. One great thing about that cookbook is that the recipes are VERY easy to make.. practically fool-proof. Hope you enjoy the recipes.. let us know which ones are the best! emoticon

Love this :) If I sticky tabbed my book, it would look exactly the same! I love mine and use it all the time. Money well spent. Glad you checked it out :)

My Progress

Sunday, February 26, 2012

Nothing against sparkpeople (I love this site), but I don't really like the way their blogs are set up. Also, I don't use a ton of profanity (seriously, I've used maybe 5 words in 50 blog posts), but the fact that the blogs here don't allow profanity at all has kinda turned me off. So if you'd like to follow the blog of my progress, you can check it out here:

I will echo the above thoughts. I find it a relief not to have to read or hear it.

Sorry you don't like the absence of profanity. I seldom use it and find that I rather enjoy not having to read it from others. Good job finding another outlet.
