Where did February go?

Friday, February 25, 2011

Wow, just a few days of the month left. I have not been tracking regularly but I've kept up with losing about 1lb per week on average. I've been very busy at work - a big opportunity on a new project, which I am determined to succeed at! Keeping busy has taken my mind off being hungry, and I have been making better choices when eating out.

Hope Spring comes soon.... Last weekend I was in North Carolina and got in 2 rounds of golf on 2 lovely spring-like days, but now I'm back VA and we are getting cold, rainy and windy weather. Hope I can golf this weekend!

That's a great weight loss. More golf is coming - or at least that's what I keep telling myself! Here's to a fabulous March! emoticon

Weighing in

Thursday, February 03, 2011

Well, I have to admit it.... yes, I am "naughty" about weighing myself. I weigh myself every morning before I get in the shower, I figure that way there's no cheating on what I am wearing, the time of day, or whatever. I don't worry about the day to day variations too much. What I do is to update my on line tracker any time my weight is lower than the previously recorded minimum.

Is that cheating?

Sure hope not!! You have to do whatever works for you. I figure that is the key.

I hate being sick!

Tuesday, February 01, 2011

Got back from ski-ing on Saturday and started feeling weird.... Sunday woke up with a sore throat.... Monday started to sneeze.... Tuesday full blown head cold! I hate having a cold. It makes me eat and drink to soothe my throat so I am trying to stay with lots of hot tea with lemon.

The good news is that the big winter storms look like they are missing us again. Hope everyone in the midwest is keeping safe and warm!

Hope you are feeling better. Glad to hear you missed the bad weather in the west. We were so lucky to have the ice miss us this week and only get rain.
Feel better. Sandy emoticon

Amazing what a Spa treat can do for you!

We skied for two days and today is a rest day (our middle aged knees don't like skiing 4 or 5 days in a row any more) so this morning I went to the Spa. I swam for about 40 minutes - the water in the pool is warm and made me fall in love with swimming again. At one time I used to swim 2 miles per week. Now I'm resolved to start using the pool at my gym at least once a week instead of the treadmill - big advantages: 1) it burns lots of calories 2) it is kind to your joints.

After 10 minutes in the hot tub, I moved on to a wonderfully relaxing pedicure. Now my feet feel soft and I am ready for anything! [My husband is not terribly impressed by the purple nail polish, though!]

Looking forward to more skiing tomorrow!

Sounds wonderful. We all need to remember to take care of the body that takes care of us. What a nice treat. emoticon

Going West to the mountains

Monday, January 24, 2011

Well, here we are in Beaver Creek, CO, for our annual ski vacation. I am not counting calories this week... with 3 hours of ski-ing adding up to 1400 calories consumed, I need the fuel. And I am having no trouble drinking more than 8 glasses of water - it's so dry here at altitude (8100ft) I am thirsty all the time!

Today was a good start to the week, sun, fresh snow, only fell once [first run... just forgot what to do, I think!].

Depending on the weather, may do a little snow shoeing tomorrow and treat myself to a pedicure, as there is snow forecast.

WOOHOO!! Great powder from what I hear. You need to drink the water and more. Colorado is dry, dry, dry and the altitude can be tough even for those of us in Denver so water, water. Enjoy your trip!
