Week 3 and still WINNING!!

Weigh in this morning was a little nerve wracking but I have lost 6 pounds in two weeks! And I did it healthy and with exercise!! Gotta figure out how to not grab the worst thing for me when I am so tired that I want to eat... so I have to work on that. Any suggestions out there?? I know having healthy snacks on hand is the best thing. It's just so hard to make that good choice when I am tired and wanting to emotionally eat! I will find a way!

    I do all my meal prep for the week on Sunday so that I have snacks and lunches, and sometimes dinners ready to go. I chop all veggies and fruits and keep them in containers. Makes things easier during the week. Fruit is especially good if you are craving something sweet. emoticon

Got an email today from my principal... we are doing a Biggest Loser challenge this semester at school! Yippee! Just what I needed to jump up my game! So I signed up for it like this Rosie "I Win" !! Lots of people think its funny, but I'm serious! I'm gonna win. I'm going to kill the 200's like a bad habit. This week mini goal for myself: work out 10 minutes each day. Whoo Hoo!! emoticon

First 5K Milestone!

Last weekend I attempted my first 3 mile run, I am able to do 2 no problem but had never attempted 3. My sister was with me and we got it done in 56 minutes! I was so pumped. Then today I had given up on doing the 5k I was signed up for, the weather is bad rainy and cold, until a friend said, "run in it anyway I'll do it with you". Wow! My unofficial time is 51:30! She wouldn't let me walk but instead had me march to keep my heart rate up, this raised my average speed from 3.2 mph to 3.7 mph. When we got to the finish line and I saw the time was under 56 minutes I raced for the finish line, determined to beat my previous time! I didn't account for the later start we got because we were at the back of the pack!!! I am so blessed to have friends like Allie and Melissa. They pushed me and kept me moving when I really wanted to quit!

Down and out, but not for long

Meh, I have completely lost grasp of my weight loss. I had hoped to be under 200 ten days ago and still am not. I am not going to let this get me down, just set a new goal of under 200 by Thanksgiving. I am thankful that I wake up every morning with the promise of a new day. I am proud of myself for losing what have, I'm almost half way to my ultimate goal! I can do this, I can do this, I can do this!

    Good for you! I figure on this healthy lifestyle journey some of us travel fast, some slow. The IMPORTANT thing is that we're all heading in the right direction. No matter how small our steps are, if we consistently take them we eventually arrive where we want to go!
