Breakfast - egg white & veggie english muffin sandwich w/ southwest sauce

1/2 cup butterbeans
1/2 cup steam fresh cranberry mixed vegetables

Snack - Sugar free hot chocolate w/ 1 shot pumpkin schnapps
7 points plus (wow, that pumpkin schnapps was 6 points, was good but not really worth it now that I know.)

25 minutes walk/jog combination + 5 min cool down & stretch

    That pumpkin schnapps looks real good to me too. And in hot cocoa no less. I think that knowing ahead of time will keep my hand out of the junk drawer. Thanks for the food blogs. Great idea.

    One day maybe I'll do a food blog. I love seeing what other people eat. My little slice of bread with two ounces of turkey and a pickle spear isn't quite as pretty as your fancy looking meals though.

ok so I worked out twice since I last blogged, once on wednesday and then again today. The last part of this week has not gone so well, I ate like crap!!! Complete overeating and eating junk in general. So I could hang my head in shame or I could just try to get back on track.

So Im back on track. I did pretty good today. I woke up this morning and did a 30 minute walk/jog combination at the park. I have an ipod app that has a couch to 5k program on it, and thats what I am starting out with. It breaks into the music I listen to to tell me when to start or stop running/walking. Its conveinient and worth the 1.99 I paid for it 6 months ago. I never used it 6 months ago, but I bought it. So at least I am now getting my money worth. I just have to keep up with it.

I decided that I wanted to start jogging again because when I was training for the 5k I ran last year, it was so much eaiser to drop weight. OMG I just sneezed and lost 3 pounds. It was great! Its nice because, although it sucks, expecially when you are starting out, its a pretty no brainer workout, you just put one foot in front of the other for a certain amount of time and there is a constant change in the surroundings which is much better than sitting in front of the tv or staring at a spot on the wall while you elliptical for 30 minutes.

My first workout was not as hard as I imagined it. I guess I was expecting it to be just as hard as the first workout I had when I was training before. I was of course 50 pounds heavier then so that makes a big difference. OMG it was almost impossible back then to run for 30 seconds at a time and today running 1 minute at a time was very very doable. I could have run for longer to tell the truth, but I am going to gradually build myself up.

I took pictures of all my food today and I thought I did pretty well. When I added it all up I was a few points over though. My dinner ended up being a little points heavy because of some vegetables that counted for more than zero (most plain green veggies are zero points but once you start getting into beans and peas, veggies with sauce and other higher calorie veggies your looking at 1 - 3 points a serving).

I will post a food blog tomorow morning once I download the pics. Im too tired to do it tonight.

    yes it never really gets much easier, there are just days that are eaiser and days that are harder, but its always hard. I think I am just hard wired to be overweight so I am going to have to keep tabs on myself my whole life. It sucks but its the reality of it. I feel like an alcholic in recovery... just with food, only problem is you need food every day so its a constant battle to make the good choices that I need to make.

29 is the lowest weight watchers recommends. I would like to continue losing so I eat at 29 points, I end up usually overeating or nibbling during the week and maintain. Its hard.

    Oh yeah I love your food blogs. your so crafty and i'm so plain in my planning. you always give me great ideas. You would think that once we got to a certain place the rest would be easy, why then is it so hard to stay on track? We always seem to head back the old ways when we hated the way they made us feel.

Thursday: 20 min elliptical

Friday: 20 minutes jumping jacks, kicks, running in place ect... while watching biggest loser on nbc.com

Saturday: Sick

Sunday: Inlaws came in, used that as an excuse and never worked out. :-(

Monday: 20 minutes moderate elliptical - Used day light savings as a good oportunity to wake up at 4:30am and workout before having to wake the kids up, make breakfast and get everyone ready to go.

Tuesday: 30 minutes moderate/high elliptical - Election day so no school for kids. I did not have to get up and I had a headache. I was planning on getting up and eating a little something, taking some head ache meds and going back to sleep till the kids woke up. I got up and ate and took medicine and then told myself,

"if you go back to sleep you need to decide right now when exactly you will workout, where you will fit it in"

I thought about it and could not come up with a good time, so I said eff it and just put on my workout clothes and did the 30 minute hill program while watching the news. After I was done my head ache was gone and I felt pretty good!
Now its over with and I dont have to worry about getting it in later or feel bad when I end up blowing it off.

I have come to the conclusion that even though it sucks so bad to get up earlier than I already to, its the most convienent time to get it done and I am more likely to get it done if I do it early when I first wake up. Thats my goal from now on. I am going to try to get a streak going and see how long I can keep it going.

I have done perfect with my eating the last two days, I think mostly in part to the fact that I have planned out the day before exactly what I am going to eat and how much that is going to be for the next day. I have also been cooking smaller meals, I have gotten into the habit over the past year of cooking larger meals and instead of having leftovers we end up eating all the extra. I have been struggling because of that and hubby has actually gained about 20 or 30 pounds! Not good. Before I only cooked enough for one portion a peice, which is what I am going to start doing again, I am hoping that hubby is going to get alot of bennifit out of this as well.

Right now I am at the top of my weight range. If I gain like 4 pounds I will be considered overweight again according to the BMI chart, so I would really like to lose around 10 pounds so I can be in the middle of my weight range. I think I am going to start being a little more focused on that instead of just maintaining. :-)

    I'm right there with you! Im flopping around in the upper 150's and as soon as the scale hits 160, I freak out! I would also like to be around 145. I have so much trouble forcing myself out of bed in the morning! I'll have to try to think of you tomorrow and that if you are doing it, so can I!

    I have to exercise in the morning too. I get up at 4:30 and it really stinks but I love my workouts and I know I need to fit them in. You are doing great!

Thursday : 20 min elliptical

Saturday: no formal exercise but I did park in the farthest spot away from the store and walked alot while shopping. I started feeling sick again for some reason after lunch, don't think it was the flu shot I got this afternoon, but I have felt like poop after getting them in the past.

Plan on doing double tomorrow to make up for it. well I have hopes to do double but will definitely get in at least 20 minutes.

Time to let the NyQuil kick in.

    emoticon Hope you feel better soon! Don't rule out a reaction to your flu shot. I had some sort of flu-ish symptoms after having mine, but fortunately they were gone quickly. Good going on your exercise, listening to your body, and knowing when it's time to take a rest!
