Mocha Almond Iced Latte

(Can use a blender but a magic bullet works amazingly expecially when using the larger ice cubes. If you are using a regular blender I would suggest buying an icecube trey with the smaller cubes because regular blenders are kinda crappy when it comes to crushing up the bigger ones.)

Ingredients:

4-5 Coffee Ice Cubes - Strong Coffee - 0 points
3 Tbls. Sugar Free Chocolate syrup - 0 points
1 Cup Almond Milk - 1 point
1/4 cup water - if needed
Whipped topping - 1 point ...... (zero if you use fat free)
1-2 tbls splenda - depending on how sweet you want it

Total points value - 2 points plus!!!


Directions:

1. Brew Coffee Stronger than normal, Let cool and place in ice cube trey. Let freeze


2. Place 4-5 coffee cubes into magic bullet (or blender) .... pour in chocolate syrup, almond milk, and splenda.


3. Blend ingredients together while shaking magic bullet, untill smooth and drinkable. (if using regular blender, blend, turn off, stir.... repeat until smooth and drinkable) If mixture is too thick add water and then continue blending until the right consistency.


4. top with whipped topping, drizzle with a small amount of chocolate syrup.

Well I normally do not work out on Saturday or Sunday but since I skipped my workout on Friday and then did not workout on saturday I decided that I would make up for Friday by getting up and exercising on sunday.

So I set my alarm for 6:30am and had a pre-workout snack

Snack - 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
1/4 cup granola
1/2 tsp Honey
(2 points)


Workout - 30 minutes Shred it w/ weights kettlebell video
30 minutes moderate intensity elliptical


Breakfast - 1/2 grapefruit
4 strawberries sliced
1/2 Southwestern Breakfast burrito made with
Mission Jalapeno Cheddar tortilla
Black beans
Thin sliced deli ham
Shredded 2% sharp cheddar cheese
egg white
mushrooms
salsa Verde
diced fresh tomatoes
(7 points)


Lunch - smart ones traditional lasagna
small salad w/ cucumber, fat free Italian dressing and croutons
(8 points)



Snack - 3/4 weight watchers ice cream bar
(like a snickers ice cream candy bar)
(3 points for 3/4)


Dinner - 1/8 pound lean ground beef hamburger
1/2 slice Kraft single cheese
1 high fiber bun
1 tsp bbq sauce
lettuce, tomato, onion, 1/6 avocado
1 serving Alexia Onion Rings - 6 points
1 cup green giant broccoli and cheese
2 dill pickle spears

(14 points)
A very high points dinner but it was awesome, and would have been 3 times that amount had I gone out to a restaurant and had the same thing.



snack - 1/2 diet soda cupcake (had a whole but daughter ate half)
- for diet soda cupcakes you just take a box of any type of cake mix and a 12oz can of any type of diet soda.... I used diet cream soda and white cake mix. Mix them together with 1 egg white and put them into 24 cupcake wrappers and bake normally. 2 points per cupcake! Very good

1 serving whipped topping
strawberries
(2 points) .... (would have been 3 if daughter had not eaten half the cake)


Daily points used - 36
Daily points target - 29
points over goal - 7

weekly points left over after weekend - 29
Thats pretty good, because I normally have closer to zero. My goal is to eat right around 29 each day for the rest of this week.

Water - two 32oz bottles water

weigh in & update

Sorry no pictures today... I will continue with the food blogs come monday. Its hard to work it in on the weekends..... But I will give you an update about how my day went.

well I went to my weigh in today and with all the extra working out and the eating on track, you know how much I lost?

I gained 2 pounds. yaaay. emoticon

But that's ok, I was still in a good mood because I knew I worked hard and next week my efforts will pay off. Although it is disappointing because I know I will most likely lose less next week then I gained this week. blah. I feel smaller though, so that has to count for something.

My leader was trying to persuade me to work for weight watchers again. I told her I may be interested but I was nervous about running my own meeting. She said that I could start out as a receptionist, which seemed less threatening so I told her she could forward my contact information to her manager. we will see what happens.

Anyway, I made a decision that I was not going to blow all of my weekly points on Saturday and Sunday like I normally do. Using all of my weekly points durring the weekend could be a reason why I have not been losing.

I went out with my husband tonight. We went out to dinner and the movies. We have not eaten at Applebee's in a long long time, almost two years. We had gone a few times before but I always found the weight watchers items to be bland and boring and the other things had no nutritional info at all which was bad news.

We saw that the Applebee's near us had redone the outside of thier building so we thought maybe they improved the menu as well. We both picked items that were listed either under 550 calories or had the weight watchers icon and then split them.

So I got a Skinny Mojito, which was very good, overpriced for the amount but good and only around 100 calories

Then me and hubby split

The Signature Sirloin w/ garlic herb shrimp
had broccoli with it.... very good!

&

The Weight Watchers Chipotle lime chicken
had black bean & corn cole slaw and rice.

OMG!!! this was so freakin good. The cole slaw and chicken were so full of flavor and then after I ate it I didn't feel guilty! yay.

Both dishes were 13 points... that is awesome considering most of the entrees at most sit-down restaurants run 20 - 50 points depending on the item.

Hubby really wanted this cookie and ice cream sundae but I told him that it was not a good idea because we did so well during dinner, why mess it up.
I looked up the nutritional info and it ended up being 44 points! Glad we didnt do that to ourselves.

I'm proud of him, he didn't get popcorn at the theater either an he worked out today. That's big for him because he loves movie popcorn and hates working out. lol.

My total points for the day were - 42
My target was 29
So that's 13 points used from my 49 weekly. Not bad, and I plan on not spluging anymore the rest of this week.

    Sorry about your gain! Sounds like you made some good choices at Applebees though! emoticon Like you, I'd blow through my weeklies over the weekend...this week I upped my protein intake and that seemed to help me along with the workouts. Looks like you have a good plan in place for the coming week and are making an impression on your hubby as well! emoticon

    I feel your pain this week. I too had a gain and I know why also....those pesky free points. So this week i'm going to curb them a bit and see. I have yet to find level ground with this new pointsplus plan. So today is a new day for all. Lets show those scales heck next week. even if it is what we gained this week.

side dish - 1/2 grapefruit

Workout - I was still having some pain in my knee so I decided to take it easy. I did 1 hour of a walk away the pounds style workout while watching the latest episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC.com .... I worked up a good sweat but it was only light - moderate intensity.

Snack - 1 slice of sara lee 45 calorie delightful bread
2 slices turkey breast lunch meat
1 tbls spicy roasted pepper hummus
3 slices of cucumber
(3 points)
OMG, this combination was outstanding. Going to have to have this again before my turkey breast runs out. :-)


Lunch - Smart Ones Lasagna
1 can whole green beans
(7 points)



Extra Activity - Went to the park and walked around with my kids : 20 min

Snack - 1 cup strawberries
1 weight watchers string cheese

My daughter was trying to steal my cheese. lol


Dinner - I was going to just have a frozen meal but I got an email telling me it was 1.99 joey jr. day at Moe's. If you have never been to Moe's it is like subway for burritoes. You can get them made without a tortilla and its like a salad, which is what I do.

So I got

1 Joey Jr. w/ no cheese & no tortilla.... It had
Rice
Black Beans
Grilled Steak
Shredded Lettuce
Pico de Gallo
Fresh Cilantro
Fresh chopped Jalapeno
Fresh chopped Onion
Splash of lime
& Salsa verde

I also had 4 of the chips that they serve... the chips are really bad on calories so I only had a few.

(7 points for the meal)




Snack - 1 cup honey nut shredded wheat
1 cup almond milk
1 medium banana
2 sliced strawberries
(6 points)

Points Eaten: 29
Activity - 60 minutes of walking, kicking, knee lifts ect... while watching TV

    We have been really lucky for the past two weeks or so here in North Carolina... It has been like 75 - 85 degrees most days. Its getting a little cooler now, back to more normal temperatures for this time of year mid 50s - 60s. I hope it gets warm again soon though. I really enjoy warmer weather since I have gotten smaller, I hated it before because I would get so hot when I was overweight. Now I am always cold lol.

My kids can be very sweet sometimes, I was really lucky to have the camera out in time to catch that picture. I wish they were nice to each other like that all the time but truthful, most of the day I am yelling at each of them to leave the other alone, between stealing each others toys, hitting each other, one wants to hug and kiss and the other wants them to leave them alone. lol. Thats kids though.

    You did so good yesterday! Your food looks yummy. I love that coffee drink idea. And your kids are just the sweetest! Their holding hands just like they're best friends. Adorable! My kids do that sometimes in the back seat too and it just melts my heart. But by the time I get the camera out, they are done holding hands. LOL

It must be warm where you're at - the kids are dressed summery. I can't wait for warmer weather. It rained SO hard last night when we went to the grocery store. It seemd like we were walking through small rivers to get from the car to the store. It's been around 50 degrees in the daytime here. We live in a suburb of Portland, Oregon. We usually get a few nice days here and there in May and June but the rainy season seems to linger through 4th of July holiday every year. Then the rest of July is so nice. I really need some sunshine or some Vitamin D in pill form or something. I ran out a while back.

5:30am ~ Woke up & realized that my arms and shoulder are extremely sore. Kempo X seems to have really worked my upper body, which is surprising to me because its only punching and no weights. wow.

5:45 ~ make breakfast for hubby and Son

5:50 ~ 2 year old Lyra who normally sleeps until 8am wakes up! This will make it nearly impossible to work out.

6:00 ~ Coffee w/ Splenda, Almond milk & whip w/ sugar free chocolate drizzle

7:00 ~ Breakfast - 3 egg white omelet w/ fresh spinach and mushrooms, Roasted Red pepper seasoning, turkey sausage and reduced fat sharp cheddar cheese.

7:20 ~ Put on Care Bears for Lyra, Put up baby gate to kitchen so she cant get in there and hurt herself. Go out to deck and grab baby gate we don't ever use anymore and put that up between hallway and my room. She can run back and see me, I can hear her while I work out back in my bedroom, we are both happy.

7:30 ~ 30 minutes biggest loser strength and sculpt workout .... Realize my right knee is bothering me so I put on my knee brace which helps.

8:00 ~ check on Lyra, she is fine

8:10 ~ 30 minutes Biggest Loser low impact cardio

9:30 ~ Snack - 1/2 cup fat free greek yogurt, 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries thawed, dash of splenda, a few mixed nuts and dried cranberries, a tiny drizzle of honey

12pm ~ Lunch - 1 cup whole wheat pasta, tossed with 2 Tbls. Thai Peanut Sauce & 1 tsp. black sesame seeds
1 cup Birds eye Steamfresh Asian Veggies

Ate 1/3 baggie of trail mix while fixing lunch emoticon
but I counted it, so that is a step in the right direction

4:30 - kids eat dinner and Lyra wants to be like mommy, would not eat anymore food until I took this picture

I am super proud of myself for working out even though Lyra woke up early. I would have normally used it as an excuse but instead I made a few adjustments to how I would normally do things and it worked out great.

    everything I ate this day was thought up and created by me... well besides the steam fresh Asian veggies. :-)
I usually don't work from recipes and try to just throw something together with whatever I have on hand. I like creating things that are quick, simple and don't take too many ingredients... mostly because I count each ingredient separately and it saves on paperwork. lol.
