1 thin slice ham
side dish - 1/2 grapefruit

Workout - I was still having some pain in my knee so I decided to take it easy. I did 1 hour of a walk away the pounds style workout while watching the latest episode of The Biggest Loser on NBC.com .... I worked up a good sweat but it was only light - moderate intensity.

Snack - 1 slice of sara lee 45 calorie delightful bread
2 slices turkey breast lunch meat
1 tbls spicy roasted pepper hummus
3 slices of cucumber

OMG, this combination was outstanding. Going to have to have this again before my turkey breast runs out. :-)


Lunch - Smart Ones Lasagna
1 can whole green beans

Extra Activity - Went to the park and walked around with my kids : 20 min

Snack - 1 cup strawberries
1 weight watchers string cheese

My daughter was trying to steal my cheese. lol


Dinner - I was going to just have a frozen meal but I got an email telling me it was 1.99 joey jr. day at Moe's. If you have never been to Moe's it is like subway for burritoes. You can get them made without a tortilla and its like a salad, which is what I do.

So I got

1 Joey Jr. w/ no cheese & no tortilla.... It had
Rice
Black Beans
Grilled Steak
Shredded Lettuce
Pico de Gallo
Fresh Cilantro
Fresh chopped Jalapeno
Fresh chopped Onion
Splash of lime
& Salsa verde

I also had 4 of the chips that they serve... the chips are really bad on calories so I only had a few.

(7 points for the meal)

1 medium banana
2 sliced strawberries

    We have been really lucky for the past two weeks or so here in North Carolina... It has been like 75 - 85 degrees most days. Its getting a little cooler now, back to more normal temperatures for this time of year mid 50s - 60s. I hope it gets warm again soon though. I really enjoy warmer weather since I have gotten smaller, I hated it before because I would get so hot when I was overweight. Now I am always cold lol.

My kids can be very sweet sometimes, I was really lucky to have the camera out in time to catch that picture. I wish they were nice to each other like that all the time but truthful, most of the day I am yelling at each of them to leave the other alone, between stealing each others toys, hitting each other, one wants to hug and kiss and the other wants them to leave them alone. lol. Thats kids though.

    You did so good yesterday! Your food looks yummy. I love that coffee drink idea. And your kids are just the sweetest! Their holding hands just like they're best friends. Adorable! My kids do that sometimes in the back seat too and it just melts my heart. But by the time I get the camera out, they are done holding hands. LOL

It must be warm where you're at - the kids are dressed summery. I can't wait for warmer weather. It rained SO hard last night when we went to the grocery store. It seemd like we were walking through small rivers to get from the car to the store. It's been around 50 degrees in the daytime here. We live in a suburb of Portland, Oregon. We usually get a few nice days here and there in May and June but the rainy season seems to linger through 4th of July holiday every year. Then the rest of July is so nice. I really need some sunshine or some Vitamin D in pill form or something. I ran out a while back.

5:30am ~ Woke up & realized that my arms and shoulder are extremely sore. Kempo X seems to have really worked my upper body, which is surprising to me because its only punching and no weights. wow.

5:45 ~ make breakfast for hubby and Son

5:50 ~ 2 year old Lyra who normally sleeps until 8am wakes up! This will make it nearly impossible to work out.

6:00 ~ Coffee w/ Splenda, Almond milk & whip w/ sugar free chocolate drizzle

7:00 ~ Breakfast - 3 egg white omelet w/ fresh spinach and mushrooms, Roasted Red pepper seasoning, turkey sausage and reduced fat sharp cheddar cheese.

7:20 ~ Put on Care Bears for Lyra, Put up baby gate to kitchen so she cant get in there and hurt herself. Go out to deck and grab baby gate we don't ever use anymore and put that up between hallway and my room. She can run back and see me, I can hear her while I work out back in my bedroom, we are both happy.

7:30 ~ 30 minutes biggest loser strength and sculpt workout .... Realize my right knee is bothering me so I put on my knee brace which helps.

8:00 ~ check on Lyra, she is fine

8:10 ~ 30 minutes Biggest Loser low impact cardio

9:30 ~ Snack - 1/2 cup fat free greek yogurt, 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries thawed, dash of splenda, a few mixed nuts and dried cranberries, a tiny drizzle of honey

12pm ~ Lunch - 1 cup whole wheat pasta, tossed with 2 Tbls. Thai Peanut Sauce & 1 tsp. black sesame seeds
1 cup Birds eye Steamfresh Asian Veggies

Ate 1/3 baggie of trail mix while fixing lunch emoticon
but I counted it, so that is a step in the right direction

4:30 - kids eat dinner and Lyra wants to be like mommy, would not eat anymore food until I took this picture

I am super proud of myself for working out even though Lyra woke up early. I would have normally used it as an excuse but instead I made a few adjustments to how I would normally do things and it worked out great.

    everything I ate this day was thought up and created by me... well besides the steam fresh Asian veggies. :-)
I usually don't work from recipes and try to just throw something together with whatever I have on hand. I like creating things that are quick, simple and don't take too many ingredients... mostly because I count each ingredient separately and it saves on paperwork. lol.

Monday 3/21 ~ Day One

5:30 - crawled out of bed and woke up Aiden for school

6:00 - coffee w/ 1 teaspoon splenda & 1 teaspoon coffee creamer - (1 POINTS PLUS)

6:30 - Aiden and hubby out the door

6:45 - peace and quiet while I eat breakfast

(3 POINTS PLUS)
1 slice sara lee 45 calorie delightful bread grilled
1/2 cup spinach lightly wilted
1 very thin slice ham lunch meat
1 mushroom sliced & grilled
1 over easy fried egg


7:00 ~ 8:00 - Kempo X (P90X) kickboxing type workout video 60 minutes

My husband got this DVD a while back from a co-worker. I tried to do it 40 pounds ago with no luck and 20 pounds ago with no luck. I could not even get through the warm up before I was like "screw this". I am very proud to say that I got through the warm up and the entire 60 minute workout without dieing. I was pouring sweat durring and after but I never felt like it was too much for me. It feels so great when you discover you can do things you were not physicaly able to do before.


9:00 - (2 POINTS PLUS)
1 medium apple w/ 2 teaspoons peanut butter



12:00 - (6 POINTS PLUS)
Smart Ones Turkey meal
1 can of whole cooked green beans




2:30 - (4 POINTS PLUS)
Tabbouleh wheat salad over a bed of spinach
1 weight watchers string cheese


4:30 - (9 POINTS PLUS)
1 serving baked whole wheat pasta
small salad w/ ranch dressing & croutons


5:00 - Took Aiden to the park so he could ride his bike. I walked along with him. 40 minutes slow - brisk walking

7:30 - (4 POINTS PLUS)
whole wheat pita bread (not shown)
1/2 cucumber
2 tbls roasted red pepper hummus


WATER - Three 32oz bottles water !!! whoo hoo, went over my goal by 32oz

POINT PLUS TARGET - 29 POINTS
POINTS PLUS EATEN TODAY - 29 POINTS!!!

YAY ME

PS. I apologize for looking like a gigantic eco offender. I have been using paper plates and bowls a lot lately because the dishes have become an issue for me. Please don't judge me, I feel like I am going to hell every time I throw one in the trash as it is.

    my issue with dishes is I am the only one that washes them and they pile up throughout the day if I don't have time to wash them and then the kitchen explodes and I get depressed. So I'm taking a break from dishes for a little while, at least till I am done with this semester of school.

Cutting out the lazy

well I have really been struggling with this last 10 pounds or so. It seems that I am at a stand still, I jump up and down between 159 pounds and 164 pounds and it kinda sucks. I want to break through and get down to where I want to be but the truth is I have been incredibly lazy the last few months.

I am use to being able to nibble and do half a** workouts and still drop weight, and unfortunately that is not working for me anymore. My body is pretty much holding right around 162. So I guess something needs to change if I want to go any farther. In general I need to stop being lazy.

I actually for a split second considered taking over the counter diet pills. I knew that was a bad idea though, because they most likely would not work, have bad side effects and cost a butt load of money. Its stupid for me to consider them when I know that what I need is more activity, not a pill.

I know my biggest issue is exercise. 20 minutes 4 days a week on the elliptical at best is not going to help me lose the weight I want so I need to seriously bump up the time and intensity. I have decided that 5 days a week I will do an hour of cardio or sculpting exercises.

Another thing I need to do is workout in the morning. I hate it, because once my son is on the bus and off to school at 7am, all I feel like doing is crawling back into bed and sleeping until my daughter wakes up at 8:00. The problem though, is I feel sluggish all day long when I do this and by the time the kids go to bed at night I don't feel like working out then either. When I actually do workout in the morning, I eat better all day and I feel better and more energetic in general. So I need to just stop talking myself out of it and do it.

I'm going to commit to really put my all into this and hopefully in a few months I will see good results. I took measurements and before pictures today so I can track my progress, I am really hoping to slim down a lot by the end of summer.

Be able to wear a really awesome dress to a wedding I am going to on 09/10/11

Cut yourself some slack too...hey - remember??? You ARE in school too girl! And they always say those last 10 or so lbs are the hardest to lose, but you WILL lose it!

Gulp, gulp that h20 - I'm trying to get in a gallon today and I'm not even halfway there (and I've ran to the restroom like 4x already!!! jeesh).

    This is a good plan. I really think it will get you to the final number you want to be at. I have also returned to my morning exercise routine I was doing last year. I have been sleeping in allot this year until the kids wake up but it's very difficult to get a work out in once they are up and around. So I woke up at 6:37 this morning and decided to get up and do my Bible time and work out stuff before they got up. The whole day does seem to go much better when I start the days like this. We can do it!!

Donate something for Relief in Japan

I was watching good morning America and was very saddened by the disaster that has impacted Japan. It was amazing to watch as the US reporters interviewed people who were living on the streets or in shelters that they offered to share what little food they had with the reporters and were so gracious that the US was there to share their story with the rest of the world. I don't have very much to give but I gave $20, if everyone did the same it would really add up.
