Changing weigh in method

well I have been weighing in on my Wii Fit every week but I know its off from the doctors scale by about 5 - 10 pounds and it seems that its off from the weight watchers scale as well by about 5 - 10 pounds so Im thinking that its off.

Instead of keeping track of at home weight and meeting weight I am just going to take a hit this week and switch my weight to what weight watchers says it is, so it can be more accurate in the long run.

So even though I did gain a little this week (about two pounds according to the ww scale) I most certainly did not gain 10 pounds.

So Weight last week according to Weight Watchers and current weight

Last week: 179.8
This week: 181.2

The gain this week is due to water weight btw... next week will be better Im sure.

    DRAT that stupid water weight! Bet men don't have to deal with THAT now, do they???!! Such a cruel world!! lol

I'm debating on weigh ins on Fri or Monday. I've actually not done ANY weighing in since the scale seems to always get me down and have been going accoring to my clothes as my measurement of success...i dunno...Hope this new plan works better for ya =)

    It is hard to keep track of both numbers in your head... I just figured I would take a hit this week and switch to the ww weight. Its hard to see the number go up but I know it will start going down again next week and I will be back to where I was in a few weeks. :-)

Do You have a Bucket List? - LONG

I made a list a few years ago of things I wanted to do in my life before I die. I have added to it over the years and now its getting pretty long. Anyone eles thought of doing this? Its really a great way to keep track of your dreams and achievements.

I thought I would share. Its very long, so if you don't want to read I will understand.

Give blood, get a pedicure, the movie list, public speaking, ......Those are great and easy to achieve.

    zorbing looks like so much fun... I have wanted to do it ever since I was a teenager and I saw it on that MTV reality show road rules. .... Its kinda pricey though to ride down a hill in a ball... over 60 bucks from what I saw online. :-(.... ONe day though

    I have never attempted to write a bucket list. I have thought about it but never found the guts to do it. I did start a "40 things to do list" and never completed it.

Week 5 - 20 week Challenge

week 5 for the 20 week challenge to reach my goal weight!!!

well I weighed in today and it said I gained almost 5 pounds this week! I find that really hard to beleive because I have done extremely well this week. I have eaten pretty much on target ... a few random bites here and there but nothing worse than usual and I have worked out every day this week, and pushed myself when I did.

I am proud of this week despite what the scale says and I think am looking better than ever. I can see the changes in myself when I look in the mirror even in just the past week.

I plan to take pictures every 5 weeks for the durration of my 20 weeks. Today I took week 5 pictures and I am impressed with the changes in such a short amount of time. I will let you judge for yourself though. :-)


Weigh in :

Week 1 - 181.4
Week 2 - 181.4
week 3 - 176.8
week 4 - 171.1
week 5 - 175.7

Total lost in past 5 weeks: 6.3

It was a much more impressive loss before this past week. Again I think something is just funky. Like either last week I was not down as much as I thought or this week I have some sort of water fluctuation. Im thinking that my scale is just off. This weigh in was very close to the weigh in at my weight watchers meeting last week, so I will have to wait till saturday to find out weather or not I lost weight according to the scale there.

Weight watchers points have been working out very well for me btw. I was a bit thrown off by how few points I have to work with now (your points go down as you lose weight on ww) but I have adjusted and its really not so bad. The weight loss I have had since starting it has been really good, besides this week about 2-3 pounds a week.

    WOW, you have done amazing in 5 weeks! I would not focus on the weight as it can be decieving. You are better off tracking your measurements and how your clothes fit! Good luck on your 20 week challenge!

    you can definitely tell things are starting to smooth out and pull in a bit more. :) good work! i wouldn't fret those 5 pounds. maybe its just from you changing up your diet program?

  emoticon Jess - you are doing great. I had a similar problem last week - right before my vacation, I had put on 5lbs despite what I thought was a successful week. It really saddened me because I was getting ready to go on vacation and knew I would have a battle then. I've not weighed in a week and will weigh when I get home Saturday - hope my 5 lbs is gone.     Wow, Jess, this is amazing in such a short amount of time!
You've had some very good losses over the last five weeks, and the scale today is lying to you. LOL Probably some water weight or just the body rebelling and saying WTH. I've had the same thing happen and the gain+ will be gone the next week. The important thing is that you are taking that number with a grain of salt, moving on, and focusing on those AMAZING progress pics!

    Do NOT let that scale fool you. You are slimming down like nobody's business! The changes are SO noticable! Keep at it and maybe the scale will catch up, or maybe it won't...maybe it's time to fire the sucker and move on to measurements and pictures. Once your body looks like you want it to and feels the way you want it to, the numbers won't really matter so much anymore...

    Congrats. You are making progress! The proof is in the pictures. Also muscle weighs more than fat. As you work out, you are losing fat and gaining muscle.
You should google the pictures of fat and muscle so you can see it. emoticon emoticon

    Your transformation is AMAZING!! I'm sure the extra "weight" the scale reflected is just your body retaining a little extra water...most likely it will go down in the next few days! I can fluctuate a few lbs week to week depending on how hard I worked out. You should be so proud of how much you have accomplished! Keep rocking it girl!

20 week challenge ~ Week 4

Hubby ~ week 1 - 245.4

well to refresh anyone who may not have read my previous 20 week challenge blogs, I am doing a challenge with my husband this summer. Both of us are trying to push through to our goal weights because we dont have that much left to go. We both sat down and came up with a list of goals and a reward each of us would like. The first one of us to reach our goal gets the reward that they picked out.

His reward is a playstation 3 ..... My reward is new clothes for the both of us and a trip to a theme park.


This week I have not been quite as driven as the past few weeks. My food choices have not been bad but I have felt the urge to eat more and eat bad foods... I have really been fighting against it though. I only exercised a few days this week too instead of the 5-6 days I was aiming for. My daughter has been very bad about taking her naps this past week so I am going to have to start waking up early in the morning again and doing them. Uuuhhg! I hate waking up early! you gotta do what you gotta do though.

Hubby is off to a slow start. He lost a little the first week and then gained it all back the next.... which is horrible because he was exercising. I felt really bad for him. This past week he has not exercised at all but I have been feeding him more than I was the preivious week, I think he was not getting enough calories. That seemed to do the trick because he dropped like 3+ pounds this past week.

Its cool that I am ahead but I really wanted to keep him motivated so its disapointing that he has really tried so hard and not done as well.


I have been doing weight watchers points for the last two weeks and I am impressed with how well its working out for me. Im dropping a steady 2-3 pounds a week and If I keep up with this pace then I will be at my goal way before the end of october. I fully expect to have a set back here and there though, I am sure I will step on the scale next week and only see 0.5 lbs lost or even a gain.... and thats ok because I know the scale fluctuates. Dont get me wrong.... I would be happy happy happy if I could continue to drop every week untill I reach my goal... Im just trying to be realistic so I dont get disapointed If it happens.

In other news, I am offically in size 14 jeans!!! Down from a size 26...... I got a pair at the thrift store that are Banana Republic, which run small compared to the Just My Size jeans from walmart I have been wearing. They are skinny jeans... wow and they look good on me too. I never would have thought I would ever been in skinny jeans. I also have a size 14 pair of shorts that fit now. ..... This is a major accomplishment for me because 14 has always been this size that I was shooting for when I was huge. It was like the ultimate unattainable goal. I thought I would be skinny when I was a size 14... now that I am that size, it dosent feel so small. Who knows maybe I will be in single digits when I reach my goal weight. That will be weird because I have never even imagined being anything less than a 14.... because at the time that dident even seem possible. lol. It feels great though.

    Great job!! I'm really inspired by your hard work. I'm hoping your husband sees some better results on the scale soon because I know that will encourage him. I used to do WW and still follow their rules for the most part. I really believe the WW guidelines are a healthy way to live. Good luck on reaching your goal by October! I am also trying to get to my goal by the end of October.

    You are so rocking it Jess- I hope hubby picks up some extra loss, I don't know how committed yours is but I worry if my husband stops losing he will just give up and he isn't doing near the exercise I'm doing so it's obviously possible that he will hit a plateau. Gratz on size 14!!!!
