1. What did you eat for breakfast?
* Thomas' whole grain light english muffin
*1 fried egg
*1 Jimmy Dean fully cooked turkey sausage pattie
*1 tsp ketchup
Berry Banana Smoothie
* 1/2 cup vanilla light and fit yogurt
* 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
* 1/4 cup frozen blackberries
* 1/2 tbls ground flax seed
* 1/2 cup water
* 1/3 frozen banana
* 2 tsp splenda
2. How much water do you drink a day?
I try for 8 cups but truth be told I really dont like drinking water and I usually get around 7 cups in. Thats really good for me though, I try to drink at least one glass of hot tea and I have a glass of water with metamucle each night so that helps... before I started all the healthy changes in my life I never drank soda or juice or any other types of drinks so I never had to give anything up... I drank maybe one glass of water per day and no other drinks at all and survived I geuss by all the fluid in the food I ate. I was so unhealthy before.
3. What is your favorite workout?
I like getting out and walking at the park in spring / early summer and fall. I love to swim but I dont get a chance to do that ever... I would swim every day if I could.
4. What is your favorite fruit?
hmmm. I would have to say fresh pineapple.... I could eat a truck load
5. What is your favorite vegetable?
I have a few.... onions, mushrooms and spinach.... I could eat these three things in every meal.
6. How many calories do you burn a week?
I think its in the 2000 calorie range.... last week it was 2480
7. How many calories do you eat a day?
Im usually around 1600
8. What are your favorite healthy snacks?
wheat crackers w/ homemade pico de gallo...... or w/ light sour cream with taco seasoning mixed in..... or w/ some avocado.
soup.... dark chocolate..... sandwich thin and peanut butter
9. What do you usually eat for lunch?
turkey lunch meat on a wheat sandwich thin and 1/2 can progresso light soup
Flatout light wrap made into a burrito filled with uncle bens santa fe rice and cheese w/ pico de gallo or salsa .... 1/2 an apple
some sort of salad
10. What is usually for dinner?
a pasta meal made with a small amount of meat and lots of veggies...... vegetable stirfry with noodles and teryaki.... parmesan crusted tilapia, a veggie and rice..... sushi..... taco salad or tacos.... ect.
11. What is your favorite body part to strength train?
I dont really like strength training... but its got to be done. I just try to get through it the best I can.
12. What is your least favorite body part to strength train?
I dont really like lunges.... triceps are hard because mine are weaker than all the rest
13. What is your least favorite exercise?
Team Sports.... I dont do them and prob never will. I remember them from school though... ick.
14. What is your favorite exercise?
Swimming.... Biking.... Both of which I dont do. I would like to though when I have more money and free time.
15. What are your "bad" food cravings?
I geuss I can have problems with salty foods if they are in the house and go over board. Like if i have a whole bag of bagel chips or something I would want to eat the whole bag. I try to keep most foods like this out of the house.
If they arent in the house its not really a problem... I have cravings for a few things that I know I can not eat.... hooters wings, fried pickles, the fried appitizer plates they serve at sit down chain resturants. ... I would love to get these and eat to my hearts content but I know I cant stay on track and eat these foods... not even in modaration... they are too bad. I try to just stay away and make options at home that are lightened up versions.... its never the same though :-(
16. What is your go to workout song?
I love any type of Happy Hardcore Techno, its great to workout to.
17. Do you take vitamins or supplements?
I take a daily multi-vitamin.... calcium + Vitamin D & K chocolate chewey thingy.... ground flax seed.... metamucle fiber laxitive.
18. How often do you eat out?
Once or twice a week.
19. Do you eat fast food?
Yes.... my go to fast food is taco bell fresco menu.... mcdonalds grilled chicken sandwich with no mayo.... mcdonalds ice cream cones..... subway roasted chicken on 7 grain honey oat.
20. How do you stay motivated?
I read health magazines... I subscribe to prevention, Health and weight watchers. I am motivated by my friends on spark people, its always great motivation to see how far others have come and all the great choices everyone makes throughout the day. I watch the biggest loser. I watch health related documenterys. I have a graph on www.fitday.com that shows my weight related to the goal I have set for myself and it shows if I am on track or not and how far I have come. Before and after pics online. Vlogs on youtube of others who are losing weight and making healthy lifestyle changes.
21. Who is your biggest supporter?
My husband... My son (5 years old) who says that he wants to grow up and be healthy and strong like mommy... My spark friends.
22. How much weight have you lost?
77 since 1-3-09
23. How did you determine your goal weight?
I am shooting for between 145 and 150. That is in a healthy BMI range for me. I have not been under 185 since freshman year in high school though so I dont know what that number will look like on me. My goal weight might be slightly higher or lower, I wont really know till I get there.
24. Do you have a gym membership?
No... I do all my workouts inside my house. Ellipitcal and workout videos. Sometimes walks in the park.
25. How often do you work out?
I workout at least 5 times a week... sometimes 6.
26. How did you find Spark?
I was refered to spark by a freind on livejournal.com. I was quitting weight watchers and was worried about accountablity and food tracking and she suggested spark.
27. How much sleep do you get a night?
an average of 7 - 8 hours... sometimes if I am lazy or lucky I get 9
28. Are you a morning or night workout person?
I am trying to hard to be a morning workout person. I do much better when I get my workout out of the way in the morning because if I wait till night then I dont want to do it. If I dont get it done in the morning I try and get it done at noon after I put the baby down for a nap.
29. Do you have a "cheat" day?
No I dont have cheat days... I dont even have cheat meals. I use to have cheat days and cheat meals when I was on "diets". I always went overboard and most of the time I got thrown off all together and fell off the wagon so to speak.... Now If I want to have something high in calories I split it with my husband or just have a meal that is a bit high in calories and know that its not a big deal in the bigger picture. I split a high calorie meal with my husband when we go out to eat at least once every two weeks... its great because the portions are huge anyway so you are cutting the calories in half and the price of the meal. We can eat olive garden for the price of taco bell and still feel satisfied.
30. Do you drink soda?
I drink a diet dr. pepper maybe once a year. I drink diet monster energy drinks a few times a month... I really like the coffee ones... they are only 50 calories a serving.
31. Do you drink alcohol? How much?
I have a half glass of wine a few nights a week... usually arbor mist. I have a mixed drink when I go out maybe once every few months... I cant afford them and they are high in calories... I like long island ice teas. Most of the time I try to avoid alcohol because it dosent seem worth it to me when looking at the calories vs. what small amount of buzz I get.... drinking is highly over rated.
32. What is your favorite thing about Spark?
I love how full featured it is, expecially for being free, there is so much to do ... you could litterly stay on spark all day long and not get bored.... I really have to keep myself away sometimes lol. My favorite part though is the people here. I have been a memeber of many other message boards and social networking sites and this one has less drama and less people that want to be mean and hurtful. I have never gotten negitivity on spark only helpfulness and encouragment!
33. What do you not like about your body? What do you love about your body?
I hate my back fat... its so close to being almost gone but its still there. I hate that my skin did not bounce back after losing all this weight... I feel so big loose and fat sometimes. ....... I love that my face is small now, I have cheek bones, I love my ankles and my hands, I love being able to do so much more now and having the energy to carry my children around and not get tired, I love my freakles, I love discovering new body parts that I never knew were there before because they have been covered in fat my whole life.
34. Do you have a workout buddy?
No I workout alone :-( ::sad face:: .... I have tried to recruit my two sisters who live with me and my husband but no one wants to stick with a workout routine. Several times a week though I have to workout when my son is awake and he usually tries to do the moves while standing next to me... "whoo mommy, I am so tired, I need a rest" .... "Look mommy Im getting stronger Just like you".... It keeps me motivated to do it every day when I realize that I am making his future healthier because of what I am doing now.
35. What is the best thing that has changed about your life since committing to this Healthy Lifestyle?
Before I started this I remember saying to my husband "you know we are most likely always going to be fat, we should just learn to live with it and like ourselves this way. Maybe we just arent ment to be thin" ..... Thinking back on that makes me sad because I really did believe that and that is no way to live. I dident really think I could do this when I started but I knew I had to do something... I now know that I can do this and anything eles I put my mind to... I just have to keep with it and beleive in myself and not give up. I might have had success before but I never beleived in myself and always quit. I am no longer a quitter. There have been so many things that have changed in my life... Its hard placing a tag on one. I am a completely different person now than I was a year ago and I know I am continuing to grow and find myself. I know in the future I will be healthy and happy. Its an awesome feeling to know that for sure now.
