"Im not getting up this morning!" - Day 3 : Week 3

Todays Workout - Biggest Loser the workout : strength
Todays Breakfast - 1 C Fiber one caremel delight - 1/2 C 2% Milk

Well this morning I dident want to get up. I told my husband in a groggy stupor "I dont think Im going to get up this morning" He said "No your getting up, every time I let you lay there and sleep and skip your workout you regret it later in the day and Im not going to let you do that today. If I have to get up then you do too!" ..... then I told him " I commend your effort but Im tired and I will just workout when lyra takes her nap later".

Thats when he pulled the covers off of me and told me to get my a$$ out of bed. I grumbled like an angry kid that wants to stay home from school and reluctantly got up, ate breakfast and worked out.

I love my husband. He is so supportive in my efforts and pushes me when Im not up to pushing myself. Im so glad I have him.

I went out yesterday and got some new workout pants. I was wearing a size 16-18 and they were falling off and these new ones I have are 12-14 and they are not going anywhere... these suckers are tight! I really hate being in between two sizes... they look painted on but they work lol... and I know its better they start out tight because I usually dont stay in stuff very long so its better to get it on the tight side.

I got a few bras at walmart too. I tried on a bunch in both 38C and 38B and I am most definatly in a size 38C not B. I think when I got sized at JCPenny on saturday the messurments were off because I was wearing a sports bra at the time. sports bras tend to make your bust alot smaller than a regular bra because of the uniboob factor.

I love my new bras... its so great to have ones that fit. I got just a regular every day bra and then this other one thats a push up with 4 way straps so you can wear it strapless, halter, regular or crisscross. Wow! it makes me look like I got a boob job lol... It really is a self esteam boost wearing it. The other one is not bad either, they look rather small in it but they are nice and perky and I can totaly do small and perky... Ok I suppose enough about my boobs lol. Im just so happy with my purchases.

Im thinking that I will try to eat at the lower end of my calorie range and see if that helps on the scale front. I know I have said the scale is not the only messure of my success, and its not.... but sometimes you just want to see a lower number, expecially after a few weeks of half pound loses and gains. I am bound and determined to have a great scale week... and Im really pushing so I can get my body in a better place by summer.... I know I wont be at goal but I want to be able to wear my white dress... I would love for my arms to tone up to where I can wear something sleveless and not feel self consious.

Im putting in alot of hard work... most of the changes right now are showing up in my thighs... which I pretty much have only taken my mirror progress pictures so its hard to compare my thighs to how they were in picture form... but I can tell they are more toned and alot smaller. I hate that you can do spot treatment when your losing weight... I would love to be able to tell my body to eat my stomach and back fat first... but right now its making my thighs and legs shrink and everything eles stay the same lol.... it sucks for pants because the legs get all baggy and the waist is tight. I just have to roll with it though and know that evenutally my body will get hungry for other areas and then they will start to catch up with the rest of me.

well its monday... lets rock it and have a great week of great choices!!!

    Congrats! When I was in between 12-14 it was so annoying, but they will slide off in no time. I also went bra shopping after I googled the bra whisperer. I saw her on Oprah years ago and I gotta say her online questionnaire is pretty right on. I went from 40C to 38DD to 36D and now I'm a 34D. I actually go to the maidenform outlet where the bras are 50% off...so I spent $25 on 2 new bras...what a bargin! :)

    Congrats on the progress! You're inspiring me to start looking into the morning workouts... how do you like them opposed to working out at night?

It's great that you have a hubby that is so motivating! In no time those 12-14's will be sliding off because they are too big!

    I have to agree about the stomach being the last place to lose. I'm getting frustrated with the measuring tape, it wont change in that area, been stuck on the same number for a longggggggg time now. tight waist, lose legs, thats me. I hope we both see a change on the scales this week. i'm tired of sitting still. let's give em heck.

    I envy your ability to buy bras at Walmart or Penney's! Those places don't carry anything that will fit me. I won't mention my cup size but it stands for Huge.

Missed a few days - Day 2: Week 3

update from Week 2: Day 7

well friday I weighed in and I had gained 0.4 pounds. I was kinda disapointed with this even though I knew it was water weight. I had weighed in a few days before that and I was acutally down a few pounds but I dident save it or anything because I was waiting till friday to officialy weigh in.
I started that time of the month and the water weight threw my weigh in. I figure next weigh in will be that much better so Im trying not to sweat it too much.
friday I desided to just to ellipitcal instead of the biggest loser workout... I was feeling lazy and just getting on the ellipitcal and running seemed more appealing than bob kicking my butt.
I had to go on my custody drive on friday and we went out to eat. Hubby was sick of Mcdonalds and Taco bell so we stopped by Burger King. It was a little nerve wracking because Im not familar with thier menu and I dident know exactly what I could eat. Luckly they had a big nutrition chart hanging on the wall so I was able to determine that I could stay under 400 calories by getting a grilled chicken sandwich with no mayo. I have to say i like mcdonalds grilled chicken sandwich much better. My husband enjoyed his burger though.... Even though He dident get mayo I dont think it was very good for him, but he does have alot more calories to spend then I do.


Sunday - Day 2: Week 3
This weekend dident go bad. I dident track my food very well on friday or saturday but I am pretty sure that I stayed within my calorie range... I never went over bored with anything and still made good choices.
I went to JC Penny yesterday and tried on a few bras.... Im somewhere between a 38B and a 38C... It really depended on the bra I was trying on. Damn a B! I have never been that small... I geuss no one wants there boobies to disapear but Im sure once my body gets to where it going everything will be in proportion... thats really all I want is an unlumpy body thats proportional.

I need to go out and buy some new workout pants because the bike shorts that I got for christmas now litterly fall off of me when I workout. I got up this morning and worked out (even though I did not have it planned) and as I was doing the jumping jacks I had to pull my pants up every 3rd jack! They were falling down around my butt. I had to pause the video a few minutes in and grab a rubber band so I could bunch my pants up in the front and rubber band them tighter.

I have a feeling Im going to have to start replacing my clothing alot more frequently now that Im smaller. Im prob gonna have to buy new pants every 10 pounds. I mean in all actuality I only have about 40 pounds to go untill I am at the top range of my goal. wow only 40 pounds.... it really dosent seem like that much.

Im hopeing to have a great week this week and by the time my next weigh in rolls around I should be all done with water weight city and hopefully pull a good number.

How fantastic that you are going to have to buy new clothes! Got a chuckle about the every third jumping jacks! LOL!! I can't wait till I have that same "problem!" ha ha ha

I totally understand about the boob issue, too. I'm noticing the loss there as well, but as long as it's proportional by the time I reach my goal weight, I will be ok with it! LOL!! I'm just tickled that my belly's not sticking out beyond my boobs so much anymore! I'll be a really happy camper once it's the other way around! LOL!

I didn't do as well as I could have with my diet the past couple of days, but I can't say I didn't try to make good choices. It was definitely something I thought about. Since I was with my friends, I allowed myself some latitude, but there was no excuse for last night's dinner. It was a total bust! It was way too greasy. I'll probably pay for it in other ways today! LOL!

Most of my excess calories came from drinking pop. The places we went to didn't have filtered water (I make sure to ask!), and that's what I'm used to drinking. If I was to drink regular water, I'd have a case of Montezuma's Revenge like nobody's business! LOL!! A little TMI perhaps, but I'm not kidding. The hardness in the water does a number on my gut! (I remember shortly after I started drinking clean water, I went with friends to a casino. We stayed overnight and I had OJ for breakfast the next day, not thinking that they made it from concentrate. I couldn't even make it home (an hour's drive)! We had to stop. Luckily there was some place TO stop. That was one lesson I only had to learn once! LOL!!)

How great that you found the nutrition info at BK. It seems grilled chicken should be the better choice, but it has a LOT of sodium and that's not just at BK, it's pretty much everywhere!

You keep up the good work! I am so happy for you! Only 40 lbs till you're within your goal range?! That's fantastic! I'll get my bells and horns ready...it won't be long till we can celebrate reaching your ultimate goal!!! I can't wait! Have a great week!

    OH just you make me smile....I borrowed a dvd from my daughter the biggest loser cardio. I"m going to give that a try for a change up some days. I changed my trackers to say what the ww scale says. It looks like I gained a heck of a bit this week but next week hopefully the numbers will start to go down. This way I can see what I really weigh instead of what I want it to say. lol. have a super day. Ps the pants thing....I just told hubby last night I need a couple pairs of pjs, mine look horrible....

    emoticonfalling pants is a great sign that you are doing an awesome job. when i started losing weight i wore the same size pants for a long time , i just switched to suspenders cause i was tired of putting new holes in my belts.

maybe you should try getting some shorts with drawstrings that way you just need to pull it tighter and you won't have to keep on spending on new shorts. emoticon

Im so freaky tired right now. blah. I got my workout in already though and Im looking forward to a good weigh in tomorow. Im really hoping for at least 2 pounds... I feel I have worked hard enough to deserve a 2 pound loss. I will be happy with whatever I get though... your body dosent always do what you want so I just have to go with it. It could go either way though... I know Im building muscle because I am starting to see a change in my legs and my arms..... Im actually starting to get a little defanition in my arms... crazy.

1. What did you eat for breakfast?

Egg Mcmuffin
* Thomas' whole grain light english muffin
*1 fried egg
*1 Jimmy Dean fully cooked turkey sausage pattie
*1 tsp ketchup

Berry Banana Smoothie
* 1/2 cup vanilla light and fit yogurt
* 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
* 1/4 cup frozen blackberries
* 1/2 tbls ground flax seed
* 1/2 cup water
* 1/3 frozen banana
* 2 tsp splenda

2. How much water do you drink a day?
I try for 8 cups but truth be told I really dont like drinking water and I usually get around 7 cups in. Thats really good for me though, I try to drink at least one glass of hot tea and I have a glass of water with metamucle each night so that helps... before I started all the healthy changes in my life I never drank soda or juice or any other types of drinks so I never had to give anything up... I drank maybe one glass of water per day and no other drinks at all and survived I geuss by all the fluid in the food I ate. I was so unhealthy before.

3. What is your favorite workout?
I like getting out and walking at the park in spring / early summer and fall. I love to swim but I dont get a chance to do that ever... I would swim every day if I could.

4. What is your favorite fruit?
hmmm. I would have to say fresh pineapple.... I could eat a truck load

5. What is your favorite vegetable?
I have a few.... onions, mushrooms and spinach.... I could eat these three things in every meal.

6. How many calories do you burn a week?
I think its in the 2000 calorie range.... last week it was 2480

7. How many calories do you eat a day?
Im usually around 1600

8. What are your favorite healthy snacks?
wheat crackers w/ homemade pico de gallo...... or w/ light sour cream with taco seasoning mixed in..... or w/ some avocado.

soup.... dark chocolate..... sandwich thin and peanut butter

9. What do you usually eat for lunch?
turkey lunch meat on a wheat sandwich thin and 1/2 can progresso light soup
Flatout light wrap made into a burrito filled with uncle bens santa fe rice and cheese w/ pico de gallo or salsa .... 1/2 an apple
some sort of salad

10. What is usually for dinner?
a pasta meal made with a small amount of meat and lots of veggies...... vegetable stirfry with noodles and teryaki.... parmesan crusted tilapia, a veggie and rice..... sushi..... taco salad or tacos.... ect.

11. What is your favorite body part to strength train?
I dont really like strength training... but its got to be done. I just try to get through it the best I can.

12. What is your least favorite body part to strength train?
I dont really like lunges.... triceps are hard because mine are weaker than all the rest

13. What is your least favorite exercise?
Team Sports.... I dont do them and prob never will. I remember them from school though... ick.

14. What is your favorite exercise?
Swimming.... Biking.... Both of which I dont do. I would like to though when I have more money and free time.

15. What are your "bad" food cravings?
I geuss I can have problems with salty foods if they are in the house and go over board. Like if i have a whole bag of bagel chips or something I would want to eat the whole bag. I try to keep most foods like this out of the house.
If they arent in the house its not really a problem... I have cravings for a few things that I know I can not eat.... hooters wings, fried pickles, the fried appitizer plates they serve at sit down chain resturants. ... I would love to get these and eat to my hearts content but I know I cant stay on track and eat these foods... not even in modaration... they are too bad. I try to just stay away and make options at home that are lightened up versions.... its never the same though :-(

16. What is your go to workout song?
I love any type of Happy Hardcore Techno, its great to workout to.

17. Do you take vitamins or supplements?
I take a daily multi-vitamin.... calcium + Vitamin D & K chocolate chewey thingy.... ground flax seed.... metamucle fiber laxitive.

18. How often do you eat out?
Once or twice a week.

19. Do you eat fast food?
Yes.... my go to fast food is taco bell fresco menu.... mcdonalds grilled chicken sandwich with no mayo.... mcdonalds ice cream cones..... subway roasted chicken on 7 grain honey oat.

20. How do you stay motivated?
I read health magazines... I subscribe to prevention, Health and weight watchers. I am motivated by my friends on spark people, its always great motivation to see how far others have come and all the great choices everyone makes throughout the day. I watch the biggest loser. I watch health related documenterys. I have a graph on www.fitday.com that shows my weight related to the goal I have set for myself and it shows if I am on track or not and how far I have come. Before and after pics online. Vlogs on youtube of others who are losing weight and making healthy lifestyle changes.

21. Who is your biggest supporter?
My husband... My son (5 years old) who says that he wants to grow up and be healthy and strong like mommy... My spark friends.

22. How much weight have you lost?
77 since 1-3-09
114 total

23. How did you determine your goal weight?
I am shooting for between 145 and 150. That is in a healthy BMI range for me. I have not been under 185 since freshman year in high school though so I dont know what that number will look like on me. My goal weight might be slightly higher or lower, I wont really know till I get there.

24. Do you have a gym membership?
No... I do all my workouts inside my house. Ellipitcal and workout videos. Sometimes walks in the park.

25. How often do you work out?
I workout at least 5 times a week... sometimes 6.

26. How did you find Spark?
I was refered to spark by a freind on livejournal.com. I was quitting weight watchers and was worried about accountablity and food tracking and she suggested spark.

27. How much sleep do you get a night?
an average of 7 - 8 hours... sometimes if I am lazy or lucky I get 9

28. Are you a morning or night workout person?
I am trying to hard to be a morning workout person. I do much better when I get my workout out of the way in the morning because if I wait till night then I dont want to do it. If I dont get it done in the morning I try and get it done at noon after I put the baby down for a nap.

29. Do you have a "cheat" day?
No I dont have cheat days... I dont even have cheat meals. I use to have cheat days and cheat meals when I was on "diets". I always went overboard and most of the time I got thrown off all together and fell off the wagon so to speak.... Now If I want to have something high in calories I split it with my husband or just have a meal that is a bit high in calories and know that its not a big deal in the bigger picture. I split a high calorie meal with my husband when we go out to eat at least once every two weeks... its great because the portions are huge anyway so you are cutting the calories in half and the price of the meal. We can eat olive garden for the price of taco bell and still feel satisfied.

30. Do you drink soda?
I drink a diet dr. pepper maybe once a year. I drink diet monster energy drinks a few times a month... I really like the coffee ones... they are only 50 calories a serving.

31. Do you drink alcohol? How much?
I have a half glass of wine a few nights a week... usually arbor mist. I have a mixed drink when I go out maybe once every few months... I cant afford them and they are high in calories... I like long island ice teas. Most of the time I try to avoid alcohol because it dosent seem worth it to me when looking at the calories vs. what small amount of buzz I get.... drinking is highly over rated.

32. What is your favorite thing about Spark?
I love how full featured it is, expecially for being free, there is so much to do ... you could litterly stay on spark all day long and not get bored.... I really have to keep myself away sometimes lol. My favorite part though is the people here. I have been a memeber of many other message boards and social networking sites and this one has less drama and less people that want to be mean and hurtful. I have never gotten negitivity on spark only helpfulness and encouragment!

33. What do you not like about your body? What do you love about your body?
I hate my back fat... its so close to being almost gone but its still there. I hate that my skin did not bounce back after losing all this weight... I feel so big loose and fat sometimes. ....... I love that my face is small now, I have cheek bones, I love my ankles and my hands, I love being able to do so much more now and having the energy to carry my children around and not get tired, I love my freakles, I love discovering new body parts that I never knew were there before because they have been covered in fat my whole life.

34. Do you have a workout buddy?
No I workout alone :-( ::sad face:: .... I have tried to recruit my two sisters who live with me and my husband but no one wants to stick with a workout routine. Several times a week though I have to workout when my son is awake and he usually tries to do the moves while standing next to me... "whoo mommy, I am so tired, I need a rest" .... "Look mommy Im getting stronger Just like you".... It keeps me motivated to do it every day when I realize that I am making his future healthier because of what I am doing now.

35. What is the best thing that has changed about your life since committing to this Healthy Lifestyle?
Before I started this I remember saying to my husband "you know we are most likely always going to be fat, we should just learn to live with it and like ourselves this way. Maybe we just arent ment to be thin" ..... Thinking back on that makes me sad because I really did believe that and that is no way to live. I dident really think I could do this when I started but I knew I had to do something... I now know that I can do this and anything eles I put my mind to... I just have to keep with it and beleive in myself and not give up. I might have had success before but I never beleived in myself and always quit. I am no longer a quitter. There have been so many things that have changed in my life... Its hard placing a tag on one. I am a completely different person now than I was a year ago and I know I am continuing to grow and find myself. I know in the future I will be healthy and happy. Its an awesome feeling to know that for sure now.

Week 2: Day 5

I had a rough time with getting up this morning and I ended up breaking my streak of getting up at 5:30 and exercising. I stayed up too late last night because hubby wanted me to and then the baby woke up at midnight and 4am. I ended up getting up at 8:30 when it was all said and done.

I put the kids down for a nap at 1:00 and I really wanted to take a nap .... but I dident. I put on my shoes and popped my workout dvd in and just did it. I dident want to do it and I knew if I sat and debated over it and thought about it that I would end up talking myself out of it.

Now its done and Im glad. Uhg... Im so sweaty though. I really pushed myself this afternoon to get the most out of it and I did. I just kept imagining how my new body is going to look.

Im seeing progress. I looked in the mirror today and I have noticed change again. It goes in cycles... my body will look exactly the same for weeks at a time and then all of a sudden I will wake up one morning and look in the mirror and half my belly is gone. Its so surprising when it happens. I cant tell exactly where the changes are because I havent taken an update picture in the mirror, but I know Im smaller. I cant wait for fridays weigh in.

This weekend its suppose to be 70 here! yay. Im so looking forward to warmer weather!
