Progress

Thursday, September 26, 2013

I've been keeping with it. It's been fantastic. I'm eating heathy, and have kept running.

I signed up for two diet bets while i'm doing this. My first one is hosted by Jillian Michales, my 2nd is hosted by fromfattofitchick, a local woman who lost 200 lbs.

I'm covered my diet bets until Nov 4th, so my weight HAS to go down or I chance losing money.

I've written my goal weight (for the diet bet) on my body, not as exteme as tattooing it, but it's a constant reminder that I need to get to that weight.

No, a number on a scale doesn't dictate my self worth, but running my heart out will get me to a healthy weight. There is no reason a 5ft 1 woman should be over 200 lbs.

Let's change that.

Exercise and Anxiety

Wednesday, September 18, 2013

I've been working out nearly every night. It's been nice and I'm seeing results. I'm sore, but that's to be expected. I'm stretching before and after workouts, but I'm still sore. Hamstrings, quads, and calves - Oh my!

I'm a little worried about Hubs coming back to nights. I'm going to continue to workout at night after work, but Hubs is pretty good about convincing me to come straight home.

I refuse to give up the exercise. I refuse to give up. I can be healthy!

Digital vs Analog.

Sunday, September 15, 2013

Got a new scale for my DietBet. I stepped on it and then my analog scale. Not sure which one is correct, but my digital scale is showing 5 lbs heavier than the analog scale.

Weight loss is all relative. As long as both numbers go down, the actual number isn't important.

I ate a bit more freely today. Ate a sandwich, which I don't normally eat bread, especially bread with roast beef, onions, cheese, mushrooms, dipped in Au Jus. Also got a few 'healthy' treats for desserts, but turns out the Chocolate Truffle Muffin Tops from Target aren't too good. The chocolate dipped bananas on the other hand.... YUM!

I'm pumped! I feel good about this. 9 days till the game begins.

The difference between analog and digital scale are how they measure and display the weight.

That analog is the kind that you step on, the pressure on the spring plate, and the needle moves to your weight on a dial.
Digital is the kind you step on, a pressure plate reads to a force sensor, and a number appears on a screen.

I had a salad after lunch today with some kind of Asian salad dressing I got at Winn Dixie yesterday since they had Ken's Salad dressing bogo free. It was pretty tasty. Your sandwich sounded good minus the onions. Not an onion fan. What's the difference between the two scales?

Hating work, but BEAST MODE

Saturday, September 14, 2013

So right now. I hate my job. I am very much in a mood where I'd like to be left alone. I don't feel well, but I'm not sick enough to warrant any real time off. We're in the thick of the project and the pressure is high.
I'm not crumbling under pressure as much as I just don't like whining. *which is ironic since this is a bit of a whiny post*

I sit most the day. I listen to people complain about issues in their way (issues I have absolutely no control over), and do the best I can to get the job done.

My husband and I have been separated for the past few weeks. He works day and I work night. We see each other when I wake up and he takes lunch and when I come home from lunch. Other than that, it's on Saturdays (if it's a gameday), and Wednesday (my offday). Hasn't been doing much for my mood. He makes me happy. That's why I married him after all.

Any time outside of work is either sleeping or exercising so that's a positive.
I updated my weight after I had lost the majority of the water weight (a week after I'd started back). I have another weigh in on Tuesday and I already know I've lost weight.

I've been using MFP (MyFitnessPal) to help keep my best friend motivated as she uses that app, and I've been using Gipis to work on my endurance and coming soon, speed during jogging. My calves burn though, persistant through the exercise. That's why I run/walk, but I've been pushing through the pain for the most part.

Saw Eels4peels's post about dietbet and have been considering joining. I have tried to organize something similar through work, but no one will buy in. Only thing is that I would have to buy a digital scale. I don't want to risk being audited.

Does anyone else use Gipis or diet bet? What are your experiences?

I have an account with my fitness pal but I removed the app from my phone since I wasn't using it. I use this site a lot. Not sure about Gipis or diet bet. Never heard of them.

Be strong! It looks like you are doing a great job balancing work an life stress with healthy habits. I don't know anything about the apps you mentioned.

Gipis - looking for friends

Wednesday, September 11, 2013

Does anyone else use Gipis for their runs? I am trying it out. 2 runs in and I love it.

EDIT: It's an iPhone application that takes your typical running times and makes a 12 week plan. It has a GPS tracker in it, and no ads.
Only catch is when they are asking you about your muscle definition, say you have abs if you are a bigger girl like me. Otherwise it will say that it can't make a plan for you. My weight had absolutely nothing to do with that part.

I haven't used the GPS tracker, but I love the plan. The workout was supposed to be "Easy". Jogging at a steady pace isn't "EASY" for me, but I stuck with it. You can use it just on the browser to at gip.is

I'm not much of a runner. I feel awkward when I try to run after Elijah.
