Girls Night OutSaturday, June 06, 2009
I had so much fun yesterday. Six of us went to Los Angeles to see Dirty Dancing on stage. As the day went by I had noticed several different things about myself that I can say are the result of my new lifestyle changes. First of all, there wasn't any anxiety about how I would manage getting around. Before I would have had a difficult time getting in and out of my friend's van and also being strangled by the seat belt once I did manage to climb into the back seat. Of course there would have been worry about how much walking I would have to do to get from the parking lot. Once inside stairs and seating would have been painful. Sitting in a seat with the armrests digging into my butt and worrying if I was spilling over into the next to me was always embarrassing. ![]()

What a fabulous night out. It is so inspiring to hear all the wonderful benefits that have accompanied the hard work you have put into your weight loss.

Glad you had a great time on your night out with the girls and I am so excited to hear about all the positive changes you've made in your life. Isn't it exciting to not worry about walking around, fitting in a seat belt, being squished in to a seat and being able to just enjoy yourself? Congratulations for your success!

I finally went to a prom. Well sorta, Today was prom at the recreation center for the developmentally disabled. I work there in the afternoons in an afterschool program for disabled teens. Their school doesn't have prom so we have one for them at the center. It is the first time in I have gotten so dressed other then my wedding. It was really fun to see the kids having such a great time. Their parents and siblings were also invited. We had a dj and also a band. They ate, they danced, and visited with former particitants who have moved away. Here are a few pics to share with all of you.

(you look beautiful. i'm so happy to hear they had a prom for the special needs students. my niece is special needs and it's so important to me that she has as many 'normal' experiences as possible. even if she doesn't fully understand.) Report Inappropriate Comment |
