Walking my Doggy

Today was the first time I walked my little doggy, Marley. I am a first time dog owner. I have always had house cats. We had a good time on our walk. It is funny how strangers will talk to someone with a dog while just passing by that same person walking alone. I guess the dog gives them something to talk about. I am looking forward to many happy times with my new little friend.

Dog walking buddies are the best!! Keaton walks with me! He's so cute. He get ahead of me and then stops and looks back at me. It's like he's saying "Come on Mom, you can do it!!" Report Inappropriate Comment

My walking buddy is my golden retriever, Chocolate. It's nice to have someone who looks forward to exercising with me everyday. Since my dog is big (petite for a golden-but a bigger breed), I have people crossing the street so they don't have to walk by me. There are those big dog owners who don't mind a spazzy dog jumping up to say hi, and they will come over to see my dog. Your little dog is so cute. I could totally see why you get all that attention. It has been a very long time since I have been able to take a sit down bath. So about a month ago I began to think that I should try. Now for the normal person taking a bath does not usually take any planning. I thought to myself "what it I get in there and I can't get out?" There was even a suggestion that I should take my phone with me just in case I needed help. For about a week as I took my morning shower I would think to myself, Should I try it today? Finally I did get up the nerve. Well there I sat realizing that I really had not been missing much all those years. I was happy that I could actually sit in the tub and still have room to have some water in it too. I guess that is what you can call a non scale celebration. I will be taking showers instead.

Yay for NSVs! Aren't they the best? Like when you notice you can tie your shoe and it doesn't crush your stomach? Or go up a flight of stairs and not be winded? Definitely having the option to take a bath is a wonderful NSV! We used to have one of those big garden tubs and I LOVED it. I was actually able to lay down in it (I'm tall). Now we have a regular sized tub and I hate it. I love taking baths, but being scrunched just isn't my cup of tea. I don't like for my knees to stick up. :o) Report Inappropriate Comment

Looking forward to summer

I am so lookingforward to summer this year. I work for the school system so summer means less work. With the economy problems my district is cutting back. I usually work summer school but this year I am sharing a summer school position with a coworker. In the past that kind of news would have sent me into a tail spin. I have always turned to bad food choices such as candy, chips and icecream when I was faced with a upsetting situation. Since changing my whole outlook on food, I can say that although I am worried about how I will get all my bills paid, I am really looking forward to having time to just relax, be on my own schedule and having plenty of time to attend extra exercise classes, walking my dog and spending time with my grandchildren. I have a goal of losing 20 pounds by the end of summer. So instead of freaking out, I am planning. Life is soooo good.

I teach parttime at a community college and my income from that has been cut in over half. It is painful but we learned to adapt. I am glad you will have more time for you this summer. Glad you are looking forward to summer. Report Inappropriate Comment

Your granddaughter is just beautiful. I am so glad that you are going to have extra time to spend with her this summer. Life is so short that it is good to savour every moment. I always go up to the cottage by myself for a few months (although I try to get dh up as much as I can). Although with Sam going to University I won't be homeschooling anymore, after the hectic pace of family, lessons, and dance it's nice to relax. I think that you will find with more time to plan and enjoy your food that you will actually spend less money. At least I have always found that to be true when I'm by myself and it's peaceful. Best Day Ever!!!

Today I checked off something on my bucket list. For the last 3 years my daughter has worked at a high end ladies clothing and housewares boutique type store called ANTHROPOLOGIE. At my size I could only buy by stuff like dishes there. The largest size that they carry is a 14. Well... Today for Mother's Day my daughter took me to her store and I was able to pick and choose. It felt soooo good to actually be able to shop there. I was so thrilled that I even had her take my picture with my cell phone. So I am the proud owner of two new blouses. To top it off they are size 12. Life is good.

Darn, I wish I could figure out how to get that picture out of my phone.

I LOVE the clothing at Anthropologie. I just fit into my first size 16 at the Gap and I am so excited to fit into a 14, so I can shop at Anthropologie. Congratulations!!! Congratulations on meeting a goal. I can only imagine how happy you are. I look forward to the day when I too will be back into a size 12. You are truly an inspiration. Tomorrow my daughter wants to take me shopping. The thing is that in the past I would have began to worry that I would not be able to do any walking. It is such a great feeling to have that lifted from me. I am looking forward to the day instead. Actually, in the past few weeks I have noticed that I am walking much faster and I actually have a little spring in my step. I am so thankful that I finally quit stuffing my face and now I am enjoying the results. Life is so good.
