Today is my last day for week one of the Tame Your Sweet Tooth Challenge. Overall I feel I did pretty well this week. I did notice last night that I was wanting something sweet. Overall, I think that seems to be when I get my cravings. I just need to make sure there are plenty of good, whole foods available. Once I eat a snack and I'm no longer hungry, the sweet craving usually goes away.

The weekend was good and productive. Even though I haven't been able to exercise (because of my fall down some stairs) and I went to the chicken fry at my friend's house on Friday, I still lost 2 pounds.
As for my sugar cravings. I did have one on Saturday. It was after I ate a not so healthy meal, Cheeseburger Macaroni. It doesn't surprise me. I've noticed that pasta has that effect on me.
Yesterday we worked on cleaning out our basement. We've been doing this little by little. My leg/ankle/foot was finally feeling good enough to be on it most of the day yesterday, so that helped a ton. I am reading the book The Total Money Makeover and I am even more motivated to declutter our house and sell the things we don't EVER use or want anymore to help aide us in becoming debt free.
I have really been trying to work on the whole me and not just a part of me. I want it all. I want to have a clean and clutter-free home, I want to be healthy and fit, I want to be debt free, I want to be a good mom and wife. It's hard work and I am by no means striving for perfection, but since I started this transformation, I have such a calmness to my life. I'm slowly realizing that I can have it all. I can have a less stressful life. SparkPeople is for sure a big part of this.

I started the Tame Your Sweet Tooth Challenge on Wednesday and part of the challenge is to keep track of your sugar habits (when you crave them, etc). I've been keeping track, but the strange thing is, I haven't been craving sweets since I started the challenge. I did have one last night because we went to our local county fair. Who doesn't want something sweet there? I don't know if joining the challenge was enough to make me accountable or what is going on. I still have the weekend to go though, so maybe I will have some cravings then.
Speaking of the weekend. We are going to a chicken fry at my friends house tonight and that's all that I have planned so far. Even though I will be indulging in fried chicken tonight, I still plan to keep myself in check. I will stop when I feel full, savor each bite and make sure to still each the veggies and fruit that will be there as well.

So I have been trying some healthy new foods lately, which is a pretty big deal for me. I'm fairly picky and don't like as many veggies as I do fruit. The first food I tried was asparagus and the other one was green beans. The asparagus was cooked on the grill. I need to do that again this weekend. It was so good! The other food was green beans. I've tried them in the past and hated them. This time I mixed them into mac n cheese and loved them! I know the mac n cheese isn't very healthy, especially since it was Easy Mac, but it's better than eating it without the green beans, right???
So as of right now the veggies I like are:
Green peppers (have to be on pizza or cooked into meatloaf, etc.)
Next on the list is squash. I've never tried it before. I'm a little intimidated by it.
