The Scale May Not Reflect it but 2010 was a Great Year!

Friday, December 31, 2010

I see that many of my fellow sparkers are posting their year end blogs with photos and great stats. I am so emoticon for them. They have shown great perseverance, control, willpower, and strength.
I have had a good year myself, although the scale only shows a loss of 5-10 pounds (depending if you use the pre- or post-holidays weight). emoticon

But what about all those non-scale victories? Here's10 things that I've noticed:

1. I have more energy.
2. My back feels great.
3. I am strong. Heck this summer I helped my husband lift & move our grill to the deck.
4. I have great posture.
5. I walk FAST!
6. I crave fruit.
7. I LOVE working out.
8. I have muscles that you can see emoticon
9. I like the way I look.
10. I sleep well.

So when I get upset because the scale isn't giving me what I want I am going to refer to this blog and say #$%# mr. scale. I can do this without your help.

Getting Down to Business: Day 2

Tuesday, December 28, 2010

Yesterday I blogged about my new plan for getting down to the business of losing the rest of my weight (including the extra from the holidays). Here's my two day tally:

My plan:
1. Eat in range EVERY day. If I do get carried away, add extra fitness to negate the booboo. - Did it both days!

2. Keep sodium within range (preferably at low end of range) - One day good, the other day close but no cigar... as they say.

3. Continue fitness - 60 mins of cardio a day and 4 days of ST a week. -Over an hour each day plus strength training yesterday (upper), today (lower)

4. Track everything (even when not pretty). Post in Daily Calorie Differential Challenge thread (By the Numbers team) Have tracked everything including my gumdrops.

5. Spread out my treats that Santa gave me. Had a little bit of chocolate yesterday and a few gumdrops today. Refer to #4.

emoticon Two days down and I am rolling. Except for the sodium I have been, dare I say, perfect. The sodium snuck up on me and I'm going to have to pay closer attention.

I will keep you posted as time goes on, probably weekly.

Getting Down to Business

Monday, December 27, 2010

Today I stepped up (and onto) to the scale. It wasn't pretty. I knew that I was up but some how managed to gain about 5 lbs from Thanksgiving to Christmas. I'm sure with some effort and control I can get rid of this weight quickly.

My plan:
1. Eat in range EVERY day. If I do get carried away, add extra fitness to negate the booboo.
2. Keep sodium within range (preferably at low end of range)
3. Continue fitness - 60 mins of cardio a day and 4 days of ST a week.
4. Track everything (even when not pretty). Post in Daily Calorie Differential Challenge thread (By the Numbers team)
5. Spread out my treats that Santa gave me.

The old me would have waited to January 1 to get back into it but the new me insists on action today!

I so admire you! I wish I could do that 60 minutes of cardio every day and 4 days of strength training a week! I'll be happy to do just 30 minutes of cardio 3 days a week and 2 days of strength training to get started again! Sounds like a good plan and I'm sure you'll drop those 5 pounds!

I am with you on this! I started tracking all my food again today. From Christmas day through yesterday my mouth had a great big party. However, the rest of me didn't feel so good. Way to much sugar, etc. Thanks for sharing your plan. It encourages me to stick to mine!

Christmas Eve - Check!

Saturday, December 25, 2010

Had a good day yesterday. Ate my regular food for breakfast and lunch and fit in a workout.
Had a great time with my BIL's family - even though my niece (7) was going crazy waiting for Santa.
Off to fit in some Wii time before hubby gets up to open presents. emoticon

Christmas Eve

Friday, December 24, 2010

Today will be a leisurely day. No work, all the presents are wrapped. Have one appetizer to prepare and one errand to run.
Plan to watch some Christmas shows on TV and workout. Nothing more.

Off to my BIL's house tonight for Christmas Eve with my niece and nephew. Should be a fun day/night.

Hope everyone has a great day/evening!!
