Conclusions

Tuesday, July 22, 2014

I have been chipping away at the weight VERY S L O W L Y. I was even passed by a emoticon I've been doing better this week getting my food in check (volume and choices) but really need to kick up my workouts.

A 24 calorie deficit each day isn't going to bring big results. I must admit that my motivate has been waining. I've been tired alot and not sure why. Need to make sure I am taking all my vitamins. I know that my sleep has been off and not sure if it's related to the air conditioning or what.

My goal for the rest of the month is to have a 3500 calorie deficit each week. That's 500 calories a day and definitely doable. emoticon

I still think you have been doing GREAT! You are moving in the right direction. I have been more tired than usual as well. I have not been able to figure it out exactly. You got this.

Training

Thursday, July 17, 2014

Yesterday was another session with the trainer. He's very cautious with my back (which is good) but is also frustrating. I feel like yesterday's session was more like my sessions with the old trainer. We spent half of the time doing balance exercises and a few where he was judging my "issues." He told me that last week while doing lunges that I grimaced. Of course, I wasn't aware of that. I told him that I have so many aches and pains that come and go that I mostly ignore them.
Anyway...........
Yesterday's session left me sore in a good way in my arms and upper back so I think we are on the right track again.
I trained twice last week and only once this week due to my schedule. Next week going for 2 then on vacation for 2 weeks. We don't have any overnight plans so I'll be able to maintain my exercise routine most days.
Eating has been okay. Mostly staying in my calorie range. Trying to make better choices.

What a Little Competition and a Fitbit Can Do

Monday, July 14, 2014

I am a bit competitive when it comes to my fitbit rankings - mostly with my husband and a local friend (the one that visited yesterday). Because of that I knew that I wouldn't get a lot of steps yesterday when my friend was over so I pushed myself to get my workout in early.

First treadmill walk/jog, then 2 short kettlebell workouts from youtube and then some Wii just for fun. By noon when my friend arrived I had reach 12,000.

My friend, not to be outdone (although not knowing of my activities) had gone for a walk before coming to my house and was walking laps around the pool deck.
Funny what a little competition and a little device can (make you) do!

That is great! I'd love to have a fitbit and join in on the competition, but it's not compatable with my Cromebook or my smartphone...I have an older smartphone.

I am thinking I had should get a FitBit again. I had one several months ago but returned it when it was not tracking my sleep right at night. I used it for a couple of months and loved it. Think I will have to try it again. I miss it.

Tracking New and Old and a major accomplishment

Saturday, July 12, 2014

I've been tracking the usual - food and calories and the other day my trainer came up with something new: balance. On WiiFit you can do a simple test that measures your weight, bmi, and balance every day. I care about the first two but not every day. The balance is something that I am going to track every day.
I've noticed that some days my balance is better than others.
I've only tracked it two days but on Friday i was leaning more to the right and today I was almost perfectly balanced. I'm wondering if it's because I went to PT yesterday and she stretched out my hamstrings a lot. Not sure so I'm going to track my activities too and see if any patterns develop.

My major accomplishment for today? I cleaned my home office. I got rid of a printer, moved some other things around. Threw out a lot of stuff and I can actually see the top of the computer table. LOL! I still have some work to do but it looks so much better and I actually don't get stressed coming into the room. Another win!

Definitely more work to be done in the house, still going through Mom's stuff but definitely making progress.

Sleeping better and looking better. The bags under my eyes are looking better. emoticon

Good going and keep up your good work. I too need some work to make my balance better. Presently I cannot stand on one foot more than two seconds.

Awesome on the office. That is my least favorite thing. We are supposed to be going paperless so I hope I will have less paper HA!

Interesting with the balance, but I do know your balance also affects the way you walk.

Killer blog. Quite interesting about the balance. I am curious to see what you find.

Quick Update

Tuesday, July 08, 2014

Almost my bed time so I'm making this quick.

Buried my father-in-law's ashes and scattered some too as per his wishes on Saturday. We had a small service at the cemetery where he received military honors from the USS Constitution personnel. He would have loved it!

Sunday my BIL's family visited. They were here from 10am to 8pm. DH and I were pretty beat by the time they left.

We took Monday off and did our usual Saturday things and had a nice day together.

Today had a session with the trainer. I'm trying to see him twice a week to get some momentum going. Have another session scheduled for Thursday.

That's about it for me. With the sale of my mother's house and the burial of my FIL's ashes we have completed our duties as children. Hubby and I kid a lot that we are orphans now.
We are responsible only for ourselves and the kitties. emoticon
