It's 4:55AM and I am getting ready to tie my shoes and head out the door to the center for 5:30 spin. Spin for one hours...come home, shower, shange, fold slocthes and cut up celery, pack car, load up sister and get her to the hospital for procedure at 9AM, then some down time while I wait an hour and a half or two hours before I load her up and get her home, then straight to work, then to the store to pick up the chicken tenders on the way to womens group at church at 6PM and home by 8PM or 8:30. Bet I sleep good tonight!
Home from spin, it is 7AM and I am finishing folding the laundry. Might have to do that again (both the spin and I am sure the laundry). I was felling pretty rotten last night about not gettin in a full 30 mins of fitness, but I think the rest did me good. Had my best spin class to date, Kept up with almost the whole class. Only missed a couple of jumps and one or two rounds at position 3. Not bad!!! Did 22.13 miles. WOOHOO!

Today is a challenge.....prepping for an insanely busy week....church in the AM, grocery shopping and prepping food for meals and snacks on the run these next few days, fitting for new bras (imagine that none fit after losing 40+ pounds this past year), two loads of laundry, cleaning out the underwear and pajama drawers of all the stuff that doesn't fit anymore, cooking dinner and making snacks for our women's meeting tomorrow night at the church (after work), rearranging the "storage" side of the garage and getting the winter stuff pushed back and the spring stuff pulled forward and in between all that, gettin in 30 minutes of exercise since I will miss my run in order to get everything else done and get to bed by 8:30 to be up at 4:30 and get to spin class by 5:30 tomorrow AM to kick of a week of crazy non-stop activity. WHEW! And that's just today. Wanted to get in a LSD run, but if I had done that, too much would not have gotten done and I would've been behind all week. My goal for this week was 20 miles and I was short just 1/2 a mile....I should be able to make that up this next week.
My lesson today is to just keep moving, take whatever moment I have and start the stopwatch and get in the fitness where I can....hopefully will have 30 minutes in before my head hits the pillow tonight.

I DID IT!!! This morning, after closing last night, I got up just past the crack of dawn, went to spin class (not my favorite, but it's growing on me) and did an hour, then went to work, got out of work and back to the center where instead of just doing an easy run to get in some miles, I hopped on the dreadmill and did 3 miles of HILLS!!!!!!!! Got my heartrate really up there and worked up a good sweat. Now THAT, I believe rates my fitness for the day at an A+. Thanks, ON2VICTORY, for your kind vote of confidence in giving me a A+ for this morning. It was tough getting up and getting out the door, but I know, in my heart of hearts, that I could have pushed harder on the bike.
Feeling pretty good now! Time for some dinner since sis just pulled in the drive, then to bed "early" (?DST?), church in the morning and a LSD....got some grocery chopping to do and just found out I have to bring snacks for my ladies get together Monday night.
I AM GOING TO DO THIS 5:30 AM THING MONDAY IF IT KILLS ME!!!!!!! (Glad it's just this once)

Okay, I still am not saying that I "like" spin. I do appreciate what it does for my fitness though, so I will stick with it. This morning was a test though, and I think I passed...maybe not with an A, but I definitely think I got a solid B. I worked last night until 10:15 and by the time I got home and to bed, it was almost 11:30. I 'm not ready to sacrifice this fitness streak yet, so, the quandary was, do I hope like feeling like getting to the center after work tonight and going for a run, or am I going to hedge my bets and get up at 6AM in time to feed the critters and myself and get dressed and make it to a spin class. Hmmmmmmmm........
Well, I DID IT! It wasn't easy and, of course, I did hit snooze a couple of times. Why is still unclear since I don't really snooze, but I rolled out of bed at 6:15 and made it in. I struggle, still, but it was only my fourth or fifth class, and I am improving, so a C+, B- for actual ability, but extra points for effort and making myself actually do it! Got to give myself a B. I could have made myself give a little more effort, I think, but my performance has been so dismal in previous classes, I don't think I have yet learned how to pace myself to give it as much as I can and yet still make it for the hour.
Retests will come later this week. I still am hoping to do a short easy run this evening after work.....we'll see about that. Tomorrow is a LSD for an hour, and then Monday, I don't work until 11:30AM, but I have to have my sis at the doctor's at 9AM for a procedure that they are putting her under, so I will have to stay and drive her home. Right after work, I have a meeting which will run until 8 or 8:30PM and I WON'T be doing any fitness then, so if I'm going to get in a workout it will have to be early again. Can I do it??? I HAVE to...I've been working very hard at keeping this streak alive, and given the fact that I am in this for life, I have to be able to roll with life's punches and MAKE the time to do what is important, and for me, this is it!
Wish me luck. Reports to follow, keep me accountable. Love you guys!!! KEEP SPARKING!!!

This has been a tough 35-40 days. I have NEVER in all my life, including during my years in the military, been this committed to a fitness program for this long. At the beginning of February (within the first week), I establishsed my baseline for fitness, weight and fat % and lean body mass, muscle mass. Since that time, I have been averageing about a 3500 cal burn a week in fitness and 250-275 mins or more of fitness a week. I would have hoped to have lost a little more weight than I have. I adjusted my goal weight down to 130, which would have meant a loss of approx 5 or so pounds to get to 130. To date, I have managed to lose a whopping 2.5 measley pounds. UGH!!!! After all that work! But now, I know better. I checked all my other measurements and in fact, I have actually lost almost 5 pounds of body fat and gained 2.7 of muscle mass. Okay, I can live with that. Especially since I have lost a quarter inch from each thigh and over an inch from my waist and a half inch from my hips. Even my upper arms and calves which haven't changed in months have shrunk ever so slightly and are definitely more toned. Add to this that my cell hydration percentage is also going up, which should mean that my muscles and cells are holding onto water which also is a good indication that they are starting to store more glycogen which will be very important as my running distances continue to increase.
What a blessing Spark has been. If I had not had this whole past year to learn so much about my body and how it reacts and is supposed to react, I would most likely have been quite depressed by the numbers on the scale, but they tell so little of the story.....and now, we know the rest of the story!
