This morning was a toughie, but I only hit snooze twice...still out of bed by 5, but that meant full speed ahead to get everything done and be at work by 7. Only got in 10 mins of fitness, a new routine (the new ones always make me sweat). This one involved ALOT of balance - I balance okay on the right side, but let's just say I'm a little unbalanced (more than one person would say that)! emoticon Must have been going too fast though when planning breakfast, luch, and snack for the day....probably should have enterred it on the planner. On any other day it would have been good, but tonight I have to take my sis to Dog N Suds for her birthday dinner and they aren't exactly known for their healthy eating options. Oh well, Birthdays only happen once a year and next week is an lighter week on work hours and miscellaneous commitments.....I am really going to have to refocus my efforts.

    Hope you enjoyed the birthday party. I am finding summer is filled with similar events...parties of some sort or another... his, hers, theirs, mine... and they are all special. Sometimes I am really successful in eating correctly and sometimes I am not... but one meal, one day is not going to derail us as long as we get back on track the next day or next meal.
And...I am really glad you can't find more hours in your day... I believe you would fill it to the brim with activity. How do you keep it up?? Whew. makes me tired just reading all you do.
I know you will keep focused because you are so determined.

    Hope you enjoyed your birthday dinner with your sister! I figure that once in awhile you have to treat yourself and if you eat a few more calories one day... watch it a little more the next few days and add extra cardio, etc to up your calorie burning potential... Some days I just feel a little more hungry or we go out to eat as a family, etc... that's just part of life and with the lifestyle changes we make for this... we incorporate our eating into new routines and just work day by day to keep up with our plans, etc... One day of "extra eating" won't hurt if you're keeping up on the other days and maybe add the extra exercise to compensate to burn some extra calories if necessary... You're doing great!!! emoticon Being aware of what you need to do is a big part of the "battle that we fight"... The awareness helps you to get back on track the next day... and the next... etc etc... Have an awesome week!! emoticon

(by the way... my daughter's birthday was on the 13th... and after she comes back from her Slovakia mission trip tomorrow night we'll probably be having cake, etc... going out for dinner a couple times with different family members... and I know that I'll be having to deal with not staying "on track" too... )

  Hope you had a great time with your sis. Getting off you calories every once in a while won't hurt if you don't over do it. A birthday is a once in a year celebration and it is your sis. You have done so good. Really proud of you. The best to you in all you do.

    Just had a birthday to celebrate today, my husbands. I made his favorite cake which is not low calorie. He enjoyed it. So did I. Shame on me. No.....no shaming any more. I am what I am, weak, but that is ok because when I am weak I rely more on Jesus. But like you, next week will be better. No birthdays to celebrate and I can always begin again to do better. I thank God for gaving me this weakness so I would be humble and rely on Him more. Every day is a new beginning.

Just Not Enough Hours

Well, it's 9:30....and of course, another day with just not enough hours in it. Worked 7-4, had to run to the Sprint store and have them look at a programming problem with my phone, turned out to be nothing too bad and they think it's all fixed now, I'll know tomorrow, Then to the grocery store to pick up a Spaghetti Squash for dinner. Made Spaghetti Squash with Marinara sauce full of veggies with a little Parmesan and mozzarella on top.
Totally forgot that they were bringing in pizza for lunch at work, and although I don't normally eat pizza, I had a slice and a half with everyone since the celebration was partly for me. Calories were a little higher than I like, mostly carbs.....but still within limits and fiber and calcium were good. Also got the rest of the mini pies done and the living room carpet shampooed where one of the cats did a no no and some fruit cut up for the weekend. Tomorrow is work again 7-4 and then in the evening (change of plans) we are taking my sis for her birthday dinner at Dog N Suds....Sunday, church, picnic, and then FPU and try to squeeze in a little more time with my sis. Better get off the computer and get some sleep or I won't get any fitness in tomorrow - my am workout was all that I managed today too. I miss having time for a nice long run and I'm not sure when that is going to happen.

If any of you know how to pack more time into the day ... PLEASE ...let me know!

    there is only 24 hours in the day and the only thing to do is prioritize those hours. hard to do. i thought retirement would be the answer but to no prevail. good luck in finding your answer. :)

Back on Track, Now To Build Up Steam

Today was a nice recovery, nutritionally at least. I didn't get to the extra fitness this am.....in fact, I got zero fitness this am.....or today. After work, I got homework caught up and dinner made and mini pumpkin pies done for a picnic on Sunday. Its not quite ten yet, so maybe if I get in bed right now I'll get up and get moving in the am before work. Still have the other half of the pies to do tomorrow night.

Good news is that the fridge is cleaned out and I can get some fruits and veggies precut tomorrow while I'm cooking and making the pies. Other than that, I think I'm ready for the weekend. It's my little sister birthday and I know she'll want to go to Dog N Suds for lunch/dinner on Sunday after I get home from church and before I go back for FPU. I don't really understand driving 45 mins for a fast food greasey burger that has more calories than I typicall y eat in a day, but it is HER birthday, so.........I may try to make an angel food/ice cream cake w/a lowfat/sugar free Breyers and some fresh fruit. Might be good. I'll let you know how it comes out!!!

    You're doing great! No, I don't understand fast food at all - didn't even when I was at my heaviest, but as you said, its not for us... I know that you've already got today off to a great start!

GRRRR - What Was I Thinking?

I almost never stress eat, and when I do, I usually make pretty healthy choices or if I choose something not so goo, it's only onbite, but today was a LONG dsy at work and I hit the door eating. None of it toooo unhealthy (thank goodness, or it vould have been worse), a taco salad - with chipotle bean burger crumbled and avocado and salsa for the dressing, then a 100 cal bag of popcorn, 100 cal fudsicle and I thhink what really threw me over the top was the Kashi protein crunch bar. Now, I know that in and of themselves none of that was too bad, but all of that on top of my other food today threw me ober in carbs - 125 calories over....I've been over calories before, but usually because I planned a splurge, not just because I couldn't stop eating.

Oh, well, tomorrow is another day, and I think I better get to bed before I make another rip to the kitchen. Besides, the extra rest may do me good, and then I can get up early and get some extra fitness in.

On the upside, the salad was great - think I'm going to have another for lunch tomorrow.

    Keep telling myself that tomorrow is a new day, but am getting into an unhealthy habit by going over a little here and there more than I care to this week...Tomorrow is another day!

Some days are like that.
It's in knowing the difference that counts.

Just have to try a little harder, I try to pack extra fruit with me when I leave the house, a couple apples to help tide me over.

Well, just a quick not, hope I don't send anyone on a feeding frenzy, but I am just getting ready for bed and had to jot off a quick blog. I was supposed to be off work at 5:30, but they asked me to stay late, and I need the extra hours...so.......

Since I thought I was only working a short shift and that I wuld be home for dinner, I only packed 20 cherries, a 1/2 cup of quinoa w/ 1 1/2 oaz chicken breast and a pineapple ring to eat for today....(beside what I already had for breakfast). I knew that wasn't going to get me through a full shift, so at luch, I went to Pockets. All I have to say is..............Yummy! Okay, one more thing, and good for you too!!! The 1/2 Pocket sandwich is plenty big enough for a meal and I had the veggie low cal tonight - 261 Cal. 3g fat 50 carb, 6 fiber and 10 protein... and they are SUPER FAST!!!

Check them out on line, they also have their complete nutritional info available....they have 1/2 and full pockets, salads, soups and calzones - 13 different dressings, 6 of which are low or no fat with 5g or less of fat!

WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT IT! DELICOUS AND FAST FOOD AND NOT UNREASONABLY PRICED!

    Sounds like a great idea to me. I love quickies! Half my weight problems is not wanting to take the time to fix a healthy meal and it is so easy just to grab a high calorie snack. Thanks for the inspiration. I appreciate it.
