Okay, I'm never going to be a writer, but it is a dark and stormy night....and quite late (for me at least). It's 10:45 and I'm going to jot off this blog and then get to bed. Tomorrow, for the first day in I don't even remember how long, I get to sleep in. I know the dogs will have to be let out, but I think if they are quiet and I move slowly, I can do that without actually waking up. I don't have to be at work until 4:30 til close tomorrow, so I have lots of time during the day to get in some fitness and get a couple of projects done in preparation for vacation. Sunday is church and in the evening I'm going to the local Arboretum to see Kenny Loggins in concert. WOOHOO!!! I've been wanting to see that concert for, well, decades!!!
Nutrition was very good today, even got to have some BBQ at work - I had the chicken and the boss even grilled mine without the skin! Fitness was okay - got in 27 pretty intense minutes of Shape and sprints on the treadmill. I would have liked to do more, but things were crazy around the home today and I got a late start....couple that with the fact that I am more sore than I have been in a LOONNNGGGGG time after the 67 minutes the day before and I just couldn't do it. Tomorrow is another day. Think I need to get to bed now so I'll have the energy to face it.

It's ten to ten and I need to get to bed, but first the report....Yep, I made it, I got up (with the alarm) although it was not untill 5:45 am, got to move about slower than usual, such a treat. I didn't have to work until 1PM today, and it was a short day, so I made it my goal to get back on the track and moving.
First I did two 15 minute workouts from the new DVD's....they sure are alot tougher than the old VHS tapes. I actually tried to do one of the 1/2 hr sessions, but it was really putting alot of strain and stress on my thighs and I planned a long run for today. I cut that one short at 15 mins, and then did 15 mins of abs and core.
After that, I did some of the household chores while waiting for the pool repair guys to finish up so I could leave on my run.....by 10:30, they still weren't done, and if I didn't get going I wouldn't have gotten the run in. It was definately the warmest weather I've run in yet....didn't really notice myself sweating, but I made every effort to stay either in the shade or in the breeze when there was one. Guess I was sweating more than I realized though because when I got home, you could tell where the salty sweat had magnified the sun and my face got quite pink. (I'm rather dark skinned and don't burn unless I'm near salt water....or sweat, I guess). Thankfully, I wasn't out long enough to burn, but a good forwarning to use sunscreen...esp on the face. I did do my longest run yet to date, despite the heat just under 4 1/2 miles. At the 5K point, I walked just a little - less than a quarter mile, but then ran the rest of the way...still in the 12 min mile range, but the distance was better.
I didn't get to logging food untill tonight and by dinner I was famished. We had large (homade) taco salads and even with the guacamole and lite sour cream I did well, but I did need to treat myself. I had a half serving of my very favorite ice cream...that threw me 3g over in fat, but since I usually keep my fat intake on the low end, I'll be able to make up for that tomorrow. (And it was SOOOO worth it!)
No running tomorrow, so I'll try a couple more sessions and maybe a swim to get a bench mark on where I am at with swimming. I've been taking to a guy a work and he almost has me convinced that I should start thinking about training for a triathalon. I swam competitively as a teenager and I'm running now, so just add some biking and I'll have a whole other goal to shoot for,
I've putting together a C25K packet w/ a DVD and training plan also for one of the other girls at work. She's been walking, but would like to run and wasn't sure she could. I told her that if I could, shse could and that I would get her the necessary info since she doesn't have a computer.
I guess that's about it for tonight. Oh, yeah, dinner will be lean tomorrow. I left a chicken that was roasted out to cool for salads while we ate dinner and by the time I got the dishes to the kitchen sink the chicken had disappeared. How can two dogs (who combined don't weigh what I do), devour an ENTIRE chicken????

I'm not saying it was easy, and my heart was definately not 100% in it, AND I STILL hit the snooze a couple of times, but I got up and did my fitness in the AM. Not much, mind you - actually only 12 minutes, but that is better than I had been doing for a couple of weeks now. The new DVD's are definately more challenging than my old VHS tapes. When the program says a whole body workout in 12 minutes, they aren't kidding, you definatly know you did a workout when you are done. I can't believe how quickly I started sweating this morning!
Tomorrow is a late work day, so I'll have time to get in one of the longer sessions, and hopefully the weather will hold and I can do a run to the tanning salon and back before work. I had planned on doing it tonight, but things got crazy at work today and by the time I got home, all I wanted to do was have a huge salad and get caught up on some filing and e-mails and Sparking and stuff that I've been neglecting. My e-mail box was up over 400 and getting to be unmanageable. I made some good headway and even have breakfast for tomorrow ready and coffee set up and after I finish this blog, I'm going to lock up and get to bed (just after 10) so I won't sleep in too late to get some momentum going in the fitness arena tomorrow.

I DID IT!!! This morning. before 5AM, I was down in the basement doing my pre-work fitness. Going to give it a go tomorrow too!!! Hoping for another streak. Lots of rain AGAIN today, and I just couldn't bear the thought of the dreadmill. The new DVD's are SOOOOO much better. I especially like the whole body workout in fifteen minutes (so far). Some of it is pretty tough compared to the old VHS tapes.....alot of muti-tasking, but I'm sure I'll start to get used to them. And there are enough programs to keep things switched up.
Nutrition was a close to perfect as possible today. I didn't even write everythinkg down until tonight when I was entering my food. I was just a couple shy on calcium, but I'm having a Jello Mousse as I type this, so maybe that will get me there.
The weather says we are in for more of this humidity and rain all week....I may go nuts. I really wanted to go to the tanning salon and get more of a base tan going before vacation, plus, it's a little over 2 miles one way, so I use it as a chance to get in a run there and back. Let's hope the weatherman is wrong.
Got the tiniest bit of sparking done too, but have so much to catch up on....hopefully on Thurs and Fri I can get in some extra (short work days).
It's after nine now though, so I better hit the sack or I won't get up at 4:30AM.

It's been a CRAZY four (or so) days. Everyday being on the go and out the door from 5:30-6:00am and not getting home and to slow down and bed until after 9 and mostly closer to 10:30 or 11:00. Today, I actually had a half an hour to sit and do nothing when I got home, before cookingdinner and getting the chores done etc etc etc. Most days I didn't even have time to track and had to just write down what I ate and hope for the best. Actually, I did very well nutritionally, except one day when I was 225 cal. over my range - and that was 1/2 in fat. All the other days were pretty good - within most of my goals, one or two days shy on carbs by a few, but otherwise, pretty successful.
Fitness though, as usual is where I've suffered. Not that I wasn't moving, but stuctured fitness has been a washout. I got in some swimming with the dog, ALOT of walking, some yardwork, hours of painting, and a couple of 30 minute dance sessions. It was loads of fun, but wiped me out and I just couldn't get up any earlier to get in the weight training or the running. It looks like things will slow up just a little and I can add in some structured fitness now. Then in two weeks I go on vacationa and I'll have lots of time to do the fitness. (I HOPE)
I must have been doing okay though, because, as of yesterday I reached my second weight loss goal!!! When I joined Spark back in Jan., I was at 177 lbs and on 5/12, I reached my Spark weight loss goal of 146 (31 lbs). At that time I reset my goal to lose 4 more pounds and as of Sunday, I was at 142 for 3 days in a row!!! Now, I'm resetting one last time and this time I am shooting for any number under 140......I think at that point, I'll call the weight loss good and just continue to focus on losing % of body fat. If I lose more, okay, but I think as long as I keep the number on the scale under 140, I'll be happy. It isn't all about the number on the scale, and at this point, I need to concentrate more on the fitness and toning than anything else. I'm hoping that the last three can be gone by the time I retun from vacation on July 6th.
In the meantime, I'm getting back on the fitness regime.
Sunday, I went into the city (Chicago) to treat myself. Skinny Cow had a bra fitting and since losing all this weight (and fat), I was sorely needing to be refitted. Once you were properly fitted, you got to select a new bra that they will send you in the mail. It didn't hurt that they had all you can eat Skinny Cow, and lets just say I DID get alll my calcium in that day, and without going over in calories, or fat!!! PLUS, they had some pretty cool giveaways, and I left with 6 exercise DVDS from SHAPE magazine. All of them have at least one to three 20 - 30 mins program and some 10-12 mins programs, so I'll have a variety of long or short workouts and they range from cardio pilates, to strength traing to aerobics to kickboxing - a huge variety of area specific programs. I don't have a DVD player for the basement workout area, so I've been limited to old VHS tapes from the resale stores....and they are getting old and all the rewinding is a pain, but tonight I took my sister old laptop downstairs and hooked it up to play the DVD's....we don't have internet access down there, but I think this will keep me going for a while.
My other goal for this week will be to catch up on the e-mails (over 300 in my box) and Sparking. It's a daunting task, but I think I can do it. For now though, off to bed. It's 9:55 and I have to be at work at 7AM.....and I really do want to get back on the fitness track and try out some of those programs!
