Okay, I did it. I got up (even after hitting snooze) and did a full 24 mins of fitness before work today. Good thing, because I only had a light snack of watermelon and a fiber one bar during my shift of nine hours. By the time I got home, I only had time to eat and feed my sister and the animals and get to church for lighting practice. I just got home and it's 9:50 and I have to track my "other goals" and hit the sack.
Gonna shoot for another day of early fitness tomorrow, but I have my meals all planned. Trying to eat my best tomorrow since I run Saturday morning and this time will be considerably warmer. I would really like to beat my last race time, but with warmer temps come slower times in general and if last night was any indication, I'm in BIG trouble.
All the other emails and sparking will have to wait till tomorrow night and Saturday or Sunday evening. Thanks for being patient with me!

Got to make this short, it's almost eleven and I have to work tomorrow. Gonna try and get that up and at 'em fitness streak going again. Getting regular fitness has been an issue for me these past 5-6 days, but tonight I got in a good 3 mile run, alg=beit a little slow. Hopefully my time will be better Saturday for the 5K. I'd like to beat last time, but I'm sure the temperature will be higher, so my time may not be as good.
Nutrition was never horrible, but not as good as I like it to be. Today was back on track. Maybe now I can really buckle down on the fitness untill vacationa and the next new onslaught of hurdles to overcome.

Happy Memorial Day everyone - its been a busy one, but I did get to get some enjoyment in and got my fitness - no problem! I had to be a church early today for lighting ant that was from 7AM til 12:30PM. Kind of put a halt to the AM fitness, but that's okay, I got to play with the dogs in the pool....it was kind of off and on, but certainly well over a half hour! I forgot what a workout swimming can be when you aren't just floating! It was a welcom change and with the heat index in the upper 90's, runniung was pretty much out of the question.
Had a big dinner - a WHOLE 6 oz filet mignon....but lots of grilled veggies (which I made with lowfat dressing marinade).....1/3 of a large baked potato and a HUGE salad with some homade low fat ranch.
Besisdes all that, I had some veggies w/hummus to snack on this afternoon, eggbeaters w/spinach on an english muffin for breakfast and lots and lots of watermelon.
I wound up a little low on carbs and calcium for the day, but everything else was in range (but a little higher than I like). Since I actually went over in carbs by a couple yesterday, I guess today will balance that out. Just one more day and I can get back to my stricter regimen, but all in all, I think I'm doing pretty good.
Tomorrow is still supposed to be hot, with a little rain, so after work I'm probably get in a little more swimming, but just to be on the safe side, I need to at least get a good ab workout in before work and maybe some arms if they aren't too sore from the swimming.
Later in the week it is supposed to cool off - yeah! I'd like to get in one more long run before the race on Satuurday. Okay, got to be up in 8 hrs.....everyone else have a beautiful holiday - and take time to remember our fallen. FREEDOM IS NOT FREE!!!

Well, the week-end is here, and it's been a busy week - trying to fit in the fitness gets harder and harder, and I don't know why except the weather and outside chores may be biting into my efforts. It's ten (almost) now and although I don't have to be at work until 11Am, I plan on getting up by 6:00 or close to there to get in an early morning street run before work. I NEED a good long run! Only been getting in short 1-2 mile runs with a little bit of speed work....really haven't done a C25K session all week.
Nutrition is going okay. Had a couple of days on the high side, but still well under my max, and a couple of days I was short a point or two, especially on the fats end. TOM's here, so I really don't want to weigh-in, since my weight has been stagnating anyway and now I'm feeling bloated.
Got a pair of (new/used) 10 lb hand weights....that will help with upper body strength...still would like to take on a pushup challenge, but I'm nowhere near ready.
This weekend at work is our busiest weekend of the year, so I'll be pretty much running with that all weekend, except of course Sunday, and then I do lighting at church and my little sis will be over and I imagine the three of us will do some sort of BBQ. I really want to find time to do a couple of personal projects sometime this weekend too....wish me luck....I promise to catch up with you all - one day soon!

I don't know if it's just recovering from the migraine or the heat or a combination of the two, but I'm really having a tough time getting back into the fitness thing....especially running. It's supposed to be cooling off a bit, so I'm hoing to get a couple of good longer runs in yet this week. Today was the first day I really got in all my fitness, 20 mins this morning and another 15 tonight. I'm going to try to get to bed in a couple of minutes and do it again tomorrow. Work starts at 8AM instead of nine, but as long as I'm out of bed by 4:30, I should get in a pretty good session in the am. Tomorrow night I have lighting practice for church, so I need to get in the half hour or more in the am.
On top of needing to get back in the fitness swing, I'm having to make myself eat more. Fruits and veggies sound appealing, but carbs and fats are low. Missed both today, not by alot, and I did get my calories, protein, fiber and only short twelve calcium out of one hundred.
On a good note, my sis seems to be in a better mood....and when she is happier, the world is a nicer place. I also fixed the toilet so we saved a plumber trip charge and I fixed the coffe pot, so she can cancel her order for the $48.00 carafe. She had some guys out to open the pool - yeah, swimming soon....but there was a problem with the pump. They were able to get it going, but we don't know how much life is left in it. It's twenty -two years old now and to replace it is beaucoup bucks.
Gonna take another load of clothes down to the mission tomorrow after work and try to find a pair or two of capris that will fit. I'm pulling off the size 10's now without unzipping them (oh, so sad, and the were so cute - sarcastic). I'm going to have to break down and buy a couple of new bras too, but I can live with that.
Altogether, I'm down from tight 12's to a comfortable 8 (in most items). One size down I could make do with most of the items and just wear them a little big, but now, most have to go. Good thing I've always been a big devotee of resale shops.
Gonna hit the hay now and try to get that workout in tomorrow morning. I never thought I'd say I'll be happy for some cooler weather, but were trying to save on electric to NO AC just yet! That pool is mighty cold, but I may hit it sooner than later.
