Trying to get back on track

I have been completely thrown off by all the changes in my life and I haven't been treating myself very well. I haven't really been eating good foods and my exercising has been cut down to a minimum. Now that we are all settled in at the new house I am really trying to get into a new routine. We went to the store today and I have a pretty good menu planned for the next couple days so that should be good.

This week I finally started exercising again. I have been trying to find some good walking paths to take my dogs on in my new area. At least we are getting out and going though. I even did some strength training yesterday, although I started at the beginning of my program again since it has been so long since I have done it. I also went for my first bike ride tonight in a very long time. I can't really swim anymore since it is starting to get really cold in our pool, so I had to find something else to do. My legs kind of feel like jello right now, but I figure I will get better at it.

Slowly but surely I am starting to get back on track. It has just taken me a bit to get motivated I guess. I am just hoping that I am back now. I have still been losing weight, but I really don't want to back track and gain weight! I just have to take it a day at a time.

    It's understandable that things got pushed to the back with life's turn but you should be so proud of yourself for getting back in focus and putting your desire's into action. Good luck and emoticon forward

    It's all about what you're goin to do now, not as much about where you have been or wish you were.
Make small goals... what's 1 thing that you CAN and WILL do this week to step towards your health goals? You don't have to fix it all, right now... just start with one area and be intentional on making steps towards that goal. :D Like the pp said, it's about babysteps

What a great day

For the first time since I started my little weight loss journey I actually gained weight this week. I'm pretty surprised with myself for not being upset, but with my situation the last couple weeks I really can't be mad at myself. For the last two weeks we have been eating out for every single meal and I will admit that I didn't always make the best choices since I was getting tired of eating the exact same things every day. It is really stressful having to move and living in a hotel, so I am not too worried about the two pound weight gain.

I am super excited to be finally in a new house. The house we found is huge and has lot of room for the whole family, so we aren't on top of each other like the last house. And this one doesn't have mold!!!!!!!! It also has a huge backyard with grass and a pool. The dogs have been loving having a place to run around and play. The first thing one of my dogs did was fall right into the pool though, lol. It was pretty funny to see.

Today is the first day that we won't be moving a bunch of stuff, so I am going to start getting back into my routine today. There are some great places around here for me to walk the dogs and now that I have my own pool I can swim as long as I want without other people bothering me. We don't have any of our kitchen things unpacked yet, but I am determined to cook dinner at home tonight. I am not going to want to eat out in a very long time. I miss my own cooking! My dad works in California for three days a week, so he won't be back till later this week, but he was begging me to actually cook him some real food when he gets back in a few days. It has really worn us all out having to eat out so much. I don't know how other people do it. I would much rather have a home cooked meal.

Now that all this drama is over I am glad that I can get back on track. I didn't do too much damage and hopefully by the end of the week I will have lost the two pounds I gained and then some. Back to the hard work and I can't wait!

I found a great solution to my eating problem. Since I am living in a hotel at the moment and have no way to cook I have been eating fast food WAY too much. I actually really hate fast food, so I have been in hell the last week. I was driving around two days ago though and found a Whole Foods and I am so excited. We have been going there for things for dinner the past couple nights and I feel so much better. I never thought I would say this, but I have really missed veggies. They have a really nice salad bar at this Whole Foods and I have been making one each night along with something from their deli. Hopefully we will be in the new house tomorrow (even though it doesn't have a refrigerator yet) and I will be able to cook again. I am not going to want to eat out in a very long time.

  You are a perfect example of making no excuses not to try and eat healthy. Fantastic job. I couldn't imagine having to eat fast food cause there is nothing else...bleh. Bet you feel soooo much better.

    Good for you. We moved miles away from any whole foods type store and mail order or get what we need when we drive to other placees.

The problem with fast food

The last couple days I have had to have a bunch of fast food which I am really not enjoying. You either eat way too many calories, or you just don't get full. It is really hard to find something healthy to eat and still be satisfied. I'm not enjoying the food I'm eating and I'm not getting full, so I'm not a happy camper. I think tonight I am going to just go to the store and find things that I don't have to cook, but that is still better then eating out. I can't wait till I can get back into the kitchen. I didn't realize how much I take for granted the ability to cook until I don't have that option.

Even with all the eating out I have had to do I still managed to lose a pound this week. I was pretty surprised when I got on the scale this morning, but I was very happy. I guess all the walking in the park with my dogs the past couple days helped combat all the fast food. I'm really not sure how people live like this, by eating fast food multiple times a day.

    Good for you on the 1 lb weight loss! I used to eat a lot of fast food, because I don't like to cook. But I always felt horrible.

    fast food is awful I rarely have it. I feel it has an awful after taste do to the grease used over & over.It always makes me feel bloated.I dislike myself afterwards, so i try to refrain from it

So tired of not being able to cook

This is our second day in the hotel and I am so tired of eating out. I don't have any way to cook so I am getting all my food pre made. The hotel does have breakfast though and I found some healthy stuff this morning. I love cooking so much that it is hard to not be able to for so long.

I did find a really nice park pretty close to the hotel so that is nice. I took the dogs for a pretty long walk this morning there and then again tonight. We didn't stay as long tonight because there were a ton of people there and it was pretty hard to walk around with three dogs. I think we were all pretty glad to get out and do some moving around.

We will definitely have to be in the hotel till at least Tuesday because all the rel-estate companies are closed because of the holiday weekend. We found a house today that we liked today and put in an offer, but we won't hear back from them till Tuesday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

    Dealing with big changes like this is always difficult. It's not going to be perfect, but just try to maintain your focus and know soon enough you will be back in a great new routine. And cooking too!!! You can do it!
