Meet Maggie

Sunday, May 19, 2013

Hello!

My name is Maggie. Recently, my human has been acting strange!
She has just started this new work out video that she LOVES, it's called Hip Hop Abs.
When she starts the video I just don't know what to think...
So, I just hide underneath the couch until she is done.
Just like this:

YES!!

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

I have lost seven pounds! I'm so excited that I have this news with anyone and everyone I can. In the past I would never be so excited over seven pounds, but now I realize that every pound I lose is a victory. Yes, I do have many more pounds to go...However, I am not focusing on that and instead I'm trying to focus on my daily and weekly goals.

Super Excited!!!

Time to yank the sweet tooth out!

Saturday, January 19, 2013

Iíve never been the type that had to have something sweet with their meals and I rarely keep anything sweet in my home. So, one would think that I would be pretty good at resisting the temptation when I am in a social setting. However, I found myself constantly caving in especially when I am at work. I have one very nice co-worker who loves to bake and at least twice a week she brings some delightful treat to share with everyone.
This is where I get hitÖI canít say no. Iím fine as long as I donít see, hear, or smell sweets but put it in front of me and Iím a goner.

In any case, Iíve decided to challenge myself to not eat every time something delectable is out in front of me. Hopefully, I will be able to take back control of my life and not let my sweet tooth control me any longer.

Death to brown rice

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

I am having a really hard time making the switch from white rice to brown. I love white sticky rice! Brown rice just doesn't tatse the same nor does it get soft and sticky like white rice does. Ugh... why is it that all of my favorite food are not the best for me?! Boo..

I would try some different kinds of rice. Also brown rice will turn stickier if you cook it a little longer, just be careful not to burn it. You may need to add a little extra water. I have a rice cooker and love it. Since brown rice takes so long to cook, I usually cook enough to put in my refrigerator for later.

If there's an Asian market near you, you can get brown sticky rice. Sometimes it's sold as brown sushi rice. Yummy! I swear it tastes really good.

Is it just me or...?

I am very wary of diet pills I feel that the majority of them are probably not very good for you, even if they do help you to lose weight.

Well, today I was talking to a girl I work with about the weight she has lost recently, and she told me that she was going to a weight loss doctor. Okay, so I asked her what kind of diet he had her on and she proceeds to start listing off all of these pills he has her taking. HmmÖ. So I asked her if she was eating healthier or working out and guess what---no she isnít. She thinks since she is losing weight without doing either of those (22 pounds in just a month) then she obviously doesnít need to.

Am I the only one who thinks thatís an incredibly unhealthy way to lose weight? Or is it ok since she is being supervised by a Doctor?

I am a Certified Nutritional Coach and the only way to keep the weight loss off is to lose the weight slowly, eat balanced meals, NEVER SKIPPING, and learning with the help of a coach if that is what it takes to make it become a healthy life style the rest of their lives..

Anyone who tells me they can lose weight by restricting calories and giving up many foods they actually like is in for a big disappointment if they think they can restrict themselves the rest of their lives..

You actually need to lose fat and not muscle , muscle revs up your metabolism, some weight training with moderate cardio works, For every Lb of muscle you have your body burns 50-60 calories a day

I feel bad for her

You are not the only one.
Diet pills do not a healthy lifestyle make even with a Doctor's supervision.
The medical school student who graduates at the bottom of his class is still called Doctor. emoticon
