We loaded up the RV and took off after work on Saturday evening. It was such a nice day on Saturday but that changed overnight - rain on the coast. We took the bikes and drove south to find sunshine and that we did - clouds and sun. We found a nice trail along the bluff above the beach - we had to dodge mud puddles and ruts occasionally though.
The views were spectacular. Didn't get a lot of exercise in miles but did have some hills to climb. We stopped for lunch and before we could get out onto another trail - the rain caught up with us again. We went further south but that was the end of our riding - we did see some sights and got some walking exercise. We know where to go back to next time - when the rains have stopped and the sunshine is full.
We had a nice short weekend - but it wrecked my tracking on SP. We didn't have internet so didn't track a thing. When we got back I haven't tracked an exercise or food since. I got out of it and haven't gotten back into it. I am continuing to eating healthy and tracking in my head - we will see how it goes. I am thinking it is a trial run for maintaining weight. I also have not been posting as before - just been really busy or tired to take the time this week.
I am sure I will get back to posting and tracking - - - that is just the way it is for now.
I can't believe it has been almost a month since my last blog. I guess I have been busy just keeping on. I did lose the lb I gained over the last month, just this week I feel I am busting through the plateau but slowly - that is ok I will take slowly.
The last winter month has been rainy and it seems I have just been wanting comfort food for those cold dreary days. And the fruits and veggies at the market just hasn't been that appealing so it has been easier to go with the comfort food than the fresh. But the sunshine is back out and we have been getting out and the fruits are looking good - so back at it. That has helped. We walked to the market today - got my exercise - and found a new fruit. It is called a pomegranate orange - although it tastes like a grape infused tangerine. LOL pic included.
I got me a bike no more borrowing my daughters with the baby carrier on it - ha! We took them out a couple times now. We ended up doing a 15+ mile trip trail along a creek. It was a nice day and the scenery was nice very pleasant. This has helped me push through this week. Picture of trail.
New challenges on SP has helped to change the routine.
I feel like I am on a roller coaster. I have felt from time to time like I have hit a plateau, but... at this time I feel like I am sliding backwards. I am pushing myself to exercise especially when I don't want to. I am staying within calorie range - although sometimes on the high end. I feel so hungry at times. I have gained back a pound or two after losing since the first of Feb which was my goal date to lose. It was just a date I picked out - not significant. But now that I have reached my goal date - not my goal weight. I seem to be sliding back. I have never gained since starting to lose. I feel full - perhaps more muscle mass
I lost well in the beginning - had a lot of new things going on. New job with change in activity during the day. I continued losing through the holidays well. Now my work schedule has decreased plus my body has gotten used to it. I know that all these things are a factor in the lack of weight loss.
Yes, I know I will get through it eventually - was thinking of not exercising for a week then going back strong. Or forgetting the calorie tracking - but still making healthy choices. Just to take a break from the stress of eating too much or exercising too little. Just to shock my system - then get back at it stronger.
Maybe I am rambling - but I am not quitting just wanting to change it up
I want to get back at it and reach my goal weight and maintain.
Maybe I should just focus on maintaining and get past the winter and focus on spring time coming.
We had a great day of exercise today! It was such nice warm weather here so we loaded up the bikes and went to the coast. We rode up on the cliff along the beach at Half Moon Bay, CA. The path was very hard and bumpy then we switched directions and stayed on the paved path. After biking about 5-6 miles we put the bikes in the car and took off walking down the beach. About an hour down with all the stopping to look and collect treasure and 30 minutes walk back in the sand was quite a workout. Then we drove on south to Santa Cruz. We found a new place we had never been there and walked along the coast in town to the wharf - again it was about an hour to the wharf and we scurried back in half an hour since it was getting dark. We had a good work out and am really tired but it is a good tired. We (DH & I) are so glad we are in shape and can do this without being really sore and wore out.
They are always real picky and slow even about just a deposit going in. They always ask to see an ID even though it is just a deposit and it is the same pay check every 2 weeks from my husband's work. I also get paid every 2 weeks so sometimes I am in there ever week.
Anyway - the teller who is fairly new asked for my ID - drivers license. He looked at it and looked at me and looked at it again and looked at me again. Then he continued to punch in numbers and then took my ID to another person or maybe checked the number on it or something. Then he came back and took the check, deposit and ID to the person who usually ok's the checks deposited. Then he came back gave it back to me then and asked to see it again and then the person who he already took it to came over and punched in something on his computer and said hello to me - then he handed it back to me.
I finally said - it doesn't look like me does it - I have lost almost 30 lbs since then. He said Ya it really looks different - you look good! I couldn't keep from smiling on the way out of the bank - almost laughing!
I guess the long wait was worth it!
