Well I did change it up a bit. I have walked 1-3 miles almost everyday this week, and I got serious on the machines at the gym. There are so many and so many guys lifting weights - but I found the ones I needed and went for it. By now I know which ones I want and where they are and I am comfortable with just doing it even without the help of my hubby.

I have also cut back on the treadmill and increased the elliptical to burn more calories in a shorter time. I have increased my calorie intake a little - I think all the changes helped for this week.


Need a change...

I am not seeing the progress I would like. I try not to compare myself to others I see losing more, but I think I need to change it up - already.

I am measuring portions - counting calories - trying to keep under 1200 most days. I wonder if I should eat more calories to give my metabolism a boost also. ??? If I eat healthy foods - I can't seem to eat enough calories because it is too much food for me.

I am mostly walking on the treadmill but working up to run/jog for about 1-2 minutes 2 or 3 times in a 35 minute workout. I use the elliptical 10-20 minutes and the bike to cool down on. I have never been a jogger or runner even in my younger active days.

I am hit and miss on the strength training. I have several options at home with videos - and I get a bit overwhelmed at the gym where there is so much to do and not really knowing what to do. I need to get with that program.

I am slow at doing this - want to be real sure first.
I really need to start exercising - I have decided to first work on the dreaded belly fat - lose some weight by walking, cardio, burning calories that way. I will then work on toning on the weight machines at the gym. I will get used to the idea then I will plan out which machine and what to do. I decided it would be best to change it up that way - starting slow but will be steady.
I have already lost 3-5 lbs depending on which scales I go by - I am seeing progress in my clothes fitting better and I am less short of breath when I walk - it is working...

  I think you're doing great. I just started going back to the gym and I'm taking it slow also. I've been walking on the treadmill and trying to work my way up to about 5 minutes on the elliptical machine (not as easy as it looks). And so far that's given me a 2 pound loss. So I'm guessing slow is good.
