1. Did my usual 60 minutes on the eliptical this morning. Felt sweaty good. Since I did an arms and legs video workout yesterday and have my trainer day tomorrow, I did not do any additional weight training. Also plan on walking for about an hour this evening.

2. Have kept to my diet so well this week, I almost cannot believe it is me. First night out dining is tonight, so I will go with a plan and stick to that two bites only rule to see how it works out. Of course, veggies can have more bites.

1. Did 6 (4-2) minutes of HIIT today - added a minute to my routine. I am especially proud of doing the four minutes all at once. Really quite exhausting for me, but you can only build endurance by practice.

2. Kept to my calorie goals yesterday. Yeah me! This month's Eating Well magazine has lots of recipes that sound good and, so far, all have tasted good as well. Enjoyable food does make it easier.

I am sitting in a room where my meeting ended early and figured I would do some SP before I leave for the grocery store. I find this keeps me thinking healthy thoughts while shopping.

1. Did an hour of cardio this morning and have plans for a yoga session this afternoon.
2. Kept to my calorie goals yesterday, so I feel really good about this.

So, I did well at the wedding last night. I skipped the rolls and pasta, stuck to veggies and protein. Six bites of zucchini, 4 of butternut squash, 2 each of chicken and fish. This with my martini put me around 500 calories, so I snuck in a min biscotti with my coffee. I have to admit, I felt I had eaten enough, danced so much at least some of this must have been used up before I left, and I went home without guilt.

Went to the gym this morning and did weight training and cardio.

I am such a good girl.

Today we are going to my son in law's grandfather's funeral. He lived a long (90+ years) and very rewarding life and his end was mostly painless. We were not close, but still a family loss is always sad.

Later tonight we have a friend's wedding to attend. This will be the part where it will be hard to be a conscientious eater. I often forget how many bites I put in my mouth when I am talking and laughing with friends. I did once hear about a girl rule where you can put anything you want on your plate, but only eat two bites of each. Since this is a plated dinner, I think I will try that rule to see how I feel at the end of the night. If it was buffet, I would stick to salad and protein. Bet I feel better (less bloated, less guilty) doing it this way.

So sorry for your family's loss, and the sadness. Even when one lives a very long and full life, it signals the end of one of life's chapters, and the beginning of someone's legacy and footprints left on this earth and in the hearts of many. It will make the joy of the evening, all the more special....grandpop's gift to you.

Thanks for visiting my blog and for your kudos. I appreciate it. Wishing you the best with the plated food tonight.....those events can be very tricky, especially if the salad is "pre-dressed." Time to go through your treasure chest of effective tricks. Manage as best you can and dance off the extra calories! emoticon
