I went to have my hair cut yesterday and as usual I sat in the chair looking at my stylist through the mirror while we talked. Then I got a glimpse of myself and TOTALLY lost track of what I was saying! I notice for the first time that my face has become thinner. I have "square" shaped face (which I really don't like I think it makes me look like a football player but that is another blog) and I saw my cheek bones and my nose is smaller. I am so happy with the changes in my body but I really want more. Is that wrong? I think I look the same just in a smaller size. I want to look different, as in toned and maybe even sculpted.
I have come a long way with my eating habits. I even spent all weekend last weekend out of town, eating out for every meal and only once went over my calories and that was only by about 40! I have gotten into a routine with cardio and I love my treadmill for the first time since I bought it 5 years ago! I know in order for me to reach my final goals I need to do more strength so I think I am going to try to concentrate in June to strength training. Maybe join a gym where I can have more access to free weights and weight machines. Make that a habit like getting up early and jumping on the treadmill has become.
So there I told you what my June goal has become so I expect everyone that reads this to hold me accountable! Go ahead and view my exercise log or add a comment asking me about it and if you don't start seeing some strength in there. Give me a kick in the behind!
Thanks for reading.

I hear ya! I know how important strength training is and it's what I'm avoiding so far. I seem to be able to still make excuses not to do it. The cardio has become enjoyable and I even started the couch to 5K this week. I had decided two weeks ago to do the 100 push ups challenge and so far have done the initial test and day 1. I have made it a challenge today to get the push ups my body needs today off from jogging two days in a row. Send a big kick my way too please!

If no one sees you eating do those calories count?

Monday, May 18, 2009

OK I caught myself thinking that very thought earlier today! That darn Red Velvet cake that I made for church yesterday! There were only 3 pieces left and then someone put 2 cupcakes on my cake plate! So now there are 5 servings of cake in my house! I planned my meals and figured out I could have that piece of cake. Well I did, then I wanted another. I thought no one will have to know I already had one if I eat another for desert tonight!
CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??! Darn my head! I will know! It doesn't really matter if anyone else knows!

but i still want that other piece of cake...

Oh...I know exactly what you're talking about! Pitch it! Just trash it! It's definitely not worth it. You can do it! Be strong!!

LOL! I know exactly what you mean! If no one sees me eat it and I don't put it into my tracker then it must not count. And I only do that evil mind trick for sweets that I shouldn't be eating in the first place.

Fat Feet

Monday, May 04, 2009

So, I needed new shoes - 2 pair to be exact. One for work (heels) and one for working out. So I go to the store and try on the "usual" size. Guess what? The are to big!! Now I think I was over weight by 1 lb when I started here at SP so of all the places I expected to loose weight... my FEET wasn't one of them!!! I am not really thrilled by this smaller size as I was wearing a 5.5 - 6 NOW I am in 5 - 5.5! Do you know how hard it its to find shoes this small?!? It is NOT easy! I had to go to the kid section for the workout shoes!?!
Why oh why couldn't I have lost that weight in my tummy instead of my feet?!
OK - I am done.
Thanks for reading!

YES...I DO know how difficult it is to find shoes that size!! I have several pairs of shoes I've bought off kids racks - and they're usually cheaper too!! Thanks for reading my blogs....I'm often amazed people read my ramblings LOL!!

That would be irritating.. I have a lot of shoes I would no longer be able to wear. It's so great that you're losing weight.. but.. feet? Huh.

Oh the places we find that have lost weight...I too went down a half size and no more wide width either...of course my size isn't hard to find.
You just never know where the weight is going to come off...

Hormonal Cravings...

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

About a week before I start (you know what) I get really sleepy and start craving chocolate and sweets. Most of the time I have a small "fun size" piece of candy or fruit and I am good but it always gets me because I work so hard to eat right the rest of the month only to feel like I don't have any control over it. I know it is hormonal so I decided to do a Spark People Web search on Hormonal Cravings and this is what I came up with. I haven't had time to read it all but it sounds like something and a ton of other women may benefit from!
Let me know what you think!
