New Challenge Team starting soon!

Wednesday, March 12, 2014

As many of my Friends known I have been in a challenge team "BLC" for a long time now. I think this is a wonderful challenge team! It is great for those that are losing weight but need that extra push for accountability and motivation. I got to goal weight with this team and I will not say anything bad about it at all!

Recently I have been contacted about joining another type of challenge team. After reading what is all about I have decided to give this challenge a try. I think that right now in my present circumstances I need a change. For a number of reasons that I won't go into right now.

It is a smaller team and it is private. Only taking 100 people total. There are only a few spots left. Here are the details....

Camp Wannabefit Challenge:
"We are a group of Sparkers that decided we want to move beyond weekly weigh ins and weekly challenges built by someone else. We know that pounds are not the only way to measure success. We need the flexibility of taking Tuesday off from exercise some weeks and don’t want to feel guilty about it. We know what works for us, what our time constraints are and what we enjoy doing.

We enjoy hanging out with an active team; we need the support and the fun. We are also just a bit competitive and appreciate the fact that having a team depending on us can push us to work just a little bit harder.

With those things in mind, we put together this team. Camp Wannabefit consists of several challenges in the form of camp activities. There are a variety of exercise activities for you to choose from that range from beginner to seasoned athlete in difficulty. You have several nutrition options as well. Then we threw in some of what we call Life Style activities so that you can work on everything from organizational skills, to getting that stack of books read, to doing some writing and self-reflection.

You will have the ability to build your own challenge each week or build your perfect week once and then just get it done. The activities are lead by folks with experience in their subjects. So, if, for instance you want to become a runner – we have a great camp counselor all lined up for you with a plan for meeting your running goals. Want to get your Ooommm on - we have yoga covered too. Cycling, Strength Training . . . yep, we have them.

Traveling this week? Cut back on your camp commitments . Need to get ready for an event? Hit it hard. Have a race this week - you won’t lose points for needing to load up on those carbs. In maintenance? Take a simple Healthy Habits challenge and then join the book club or work on some other life challenge.

Each activity has a point value – that’s where the challenge comes in. You will be part of a team that is counting on you to rack up those points each week. Bragging rights are a wonderful thing!!

Space is limited, but we are an ongoing challenge, so as folks move on to other things, we will fill their space with folks from our wait list.

The challenge will officially begin on Sunday, April 13th, but we will invite you to camp ahead of that date so that you can get settled in. Hope to see you there."

If you are interested PM me and I will get you in touch with the right people!

SMART Goals - WEC#1 BLC 24

My Smart Goals

My Goal:
My goal is to stay in Maintenance. Through out the challenge and for the rest of my life actually.

Specific and Measurable:
I will stay within 5lbs of my goal weight.

Attainable and Realistic:
I can do this by simply continuing to do what I am doing. Watching portion sizes, exercising and handling my emotions through meditation and/or journaling

Timeline:
this twelve week BLC24 challenge

My SMARTS Goal: why do you want it? Ask yourself the “5 Why’s”
1. For mental cooping skills
2. For better health (feel better)
3. To be a positive role model for my family
4. To be able to live a long life and see my children's children!
5. For Stress relief

Behavior goals: You can directly control this type of goal; it’s an action you can choose to do every day.
Behavior goal 1: I will watch portion sizes and keep in calorie ranges
Behavior goal 2: Never deprive myself of anything. 80/20 paleo diet works best for me.
Behavior goal 3: Do my very best in all BLC challenges. Do them all even if I don’t particularly like them.

Be accountable to at least 1 other person – who is your “accountabili-buddy(s)”? My BLC team and friend Christy

Great goals! LOVE your weekly meetings idea...it's a wonderful way to kick up one's relationship several notches. I too have a morning meditative routine which I find very helpful.

Thx for stopping by my SparkPage...perhaps someday I'll see Bryce for REAL! I have traveled very little and west of the Mississippi is WAY undiscovered by me. Only one trip to Las Vegas a few years back (hated Vegas, LOVED Red Rocks!) and back in 09 to San Diego for the first SparkConvention and to visit my sister. My retirement plan is to scour out the west, hopefully on two wheels...especially up & down the coast! :-)

    Way to go Liz!
I have my goals jotted down on a piece of paper but nothing formal yet.
I need to do that for the group study I'm in.

Very specific and well-directed! I am so jealous of you being able to pay off your mortgage.

Questions: What kind of non-fiction do you want to read? And where do you plan to go on vacation this year?
