January Goals in Review

January flew by! I can't believe we're in February already. I am entering my 6th week of working out consistently. I'm proud of myself! Hopefully I can keep my momentum...

One new change for this month is I am now using a BodyMedia Fit Link device to track my calorie burn. I am still using sparkpeople for nutrition tracking though. I started wearing it this Thursday and already I am learning a lot about my body. One of the biggest things I've learned is that I am not burning anywhere near where Sparkpeople was telling me I burned.. Which is a bummer! Some of the workouts I was doing were extremely ineffective calorie burning wise. For example, one workout sparkpeople told me I was going to be 300+ calories in 30 minutes. However, when I used my bodymedia, I only burned around 140 calories.. So there is a pretty big gap.

As a result, I'm having to tweak my workout plans and goals to reflect this lower calorie burn. It'll be interesting to see what kind of weight loss I will have from using this device. I'll continue to update ya'll on my journey.

Now to review my January Goals and Accomplishments:

In January I lost 7 pounds! emoticon I also met majority of my goals. My goals for January were:

Aim to burn 1,700 calories per week.
Work out 5 days a week
Complete each workout on the 28 day boot camp with Coach Nicole
Stay within my SP calorie range
Only weigh myself once a week (this will be the hardest part!)
Drink 6 glasses of water a day

The hardest things for me were weighing myself once a week and drinking 6 glasses a day (consistently). Most days I only reached 4 glasses.

I am now working out 6-7 days a week and I am finished with Coach Nicole's 28 Day Bootcamp. I am now moving on to The Biggest Loser 30 Day Power X-Train. Hopefully I will see some good results. I did day one today and LOVED it.

Here are my goals for February:

Aim to burn 2,400 calories weekly.
Drink 6 glasses of water daily
Stay within my SP Calorie Range
Reach 8,000 steps daily
Complete my 6 biggest loser power x-train workouts for the week
Walk 5 miles per week

I can't wait to see what changes February will bring!! emoticon

    Wow great results, great plans also! I've just reviewed my progress for the last two months and I've lost 7 pounds a month as well. So I'll keep an eye on you emoticon

Weekly Goal Update 1/20-1/26

Another wonderful week!

My weekly goals for January are:

Aim to burn 1,700 calories per week. - MET! I burned 2,173 estimated calories this week. Yay!!
Work out 5 days a week - MET!
Complete each workout on the 28 day boot camp with Coach Nicole- MET! Only one week left.. :(
Stay within my SP calorie range- Not Met... There were a few days I went slightly over (not over 100 calories..) I was hungrier than usual this past week...
Only weigh myself once a week (this will be the hardest part!) - MET! This was hard!
Drink 6 glasses of water a day: MET!

I cannot believe January is coming to a close... I will post my last weeks goals and my new goals for Feb on Saturday.

Also, to reward myself for staying focused, I have purchased a bodymedia link. I am so super excited. I am hoping it helps to meet me motivated. This past week I barely lost any weight.. But I think that is due to the timing in the month. I am hoping to see a loss sometime this week.

I feel better though! So I am letting that be my motivator instead of the number on the scale. That will come eventually.

Weekly Goal Update of 1/13-1/19

This week has been awesome! I am really starting to get into the groove of things.

My weekly goals for January are:

Aim to burn 1,700 calories per week. - MET! I burned 2,309 estimated calories this week. Yay!!
Work out 5 days a week - MET!
Complete each workout on the 28 day boot camp with Coach Nicole- MET! Holy cow, Coach Nicole kicked my butt this week. I loved it! :)
Stay within my SP calorie range- MET!
Only weigh myself once a week (this will be the hardest part!) - Not met... I'm a sucker for the scale....
Drink 6 glasses of water a day: Not Met... most days I did though. I always got in 4 glasses though.

Still getting close to meeting all my goals. But I am super proud of myself this week. I only took one day off this week. My mood has improved significantly since I started working out again so that is motivating me to keep everything on routine.

I'm just feeling better! Hopefully the scale will catch up soon.. But until then, I'll keep moving along. :)

Weekly Goal Update of 1/6-1/12

This week has been going pretty well! There is some room for improvement.. but overall, I am happy with how the week went.

My weekly goals for January are:

Aim to burn 1,700 calories per week. - Not met... I reached 1,557. So I was close!
Work out 5 days a week - Met!
Complete each workout on the 28 day boot camp with Coach Nicole- Met!
Stay within my SP calorie range- Met! I'm proud of this..
Only weigh myself once a week (this will be the hardest part!) - Not met...
Drink 8 glasses of water a day: Not met... I've realized my body cannot handle more than 6 glasses of water. I can't stop going to the bathroom when I hit the 6 glasses mark. So, I think this goal needs to be tweaked to 6 glasses.

So, there were a few goals I didn't meet... But my first week consistently working out was pretty good.

I did so well saying no to special treats this week. It's been hard. But I'm determined to stay on track.

The biggest thing I can improve on is not taking a day off two days in a row. I did that this week and that could potentially ruin my motivation. So this week, I will not do that.

So, that's the update for this week. :)
