One thing is for sure, I did not gain all this week overnight, so I must remind myself that this is a journey to not just losing weight but a journey for better health in general.

Thanks for the encouragement. This is really a mind over matter issue for me and the matter is all the food that tastes and looks so appetizing.

I empathize with you, taking this off is so difficult for me. I drop some and then get a little complacent and sit there at the same weight for months. Your attitude is awesome and that will be the best arrow in your arsenal that you will ever have.

BTW I friended you

You are right it didn't happen overnight that we got heavy so now it's take lots of time for us to get to our Healthy weight goal. Rome wasn't built in a day either. It sure takes lots of patience on our part. Take Care. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

That is absolutely the way to think about it. Patience and persistence are keys to success. Sometimes the journey seems longer than we want to bother with, but good and/or improved health is so worth it! You are, too!! Love, Jeannie

Weekend

Monday, April 01, 2013

Well, I really did enjoy the hockey game on Saturday but with all the excitement of the game, music, crowd and being there I just snacked away. I won't be doing that again. Then on Sunday I ate just too much of everything and now I am truly suffering the consequences of a too tight belly.

My journey has been interesting to date. I still have my sweet tooth and quickly go to the sweets if any are available. I have to keep them out of reach and continue to make good food choices. emoticon

Those darned snacks...they are really awful for me, even the so-called healthy ones. I've come to even hate the word "snack" and have begun to avoid using it like I used to! LOL! Hope today goes well for you and that you are soon right back on track!! Hugs, Jeannie

Exercise Excuses

Tuesday, November 20, 2012

Losing weight to avoid knee surgery but in the mean time I have to watch what exercises I do to prevent current knee pain. I am taking meds for my pain but I still have to exercise.

I also have 2 arthritic knees and both need to be replaced, unfortunately. I am trying to lose weight so I can have one knee done at a time. For me, just doing chair marching helps ease the pain. I have to exercise sitting down. Check with your Dr. and see if he/she can recommend some good knee exercises for you to do. Take Care.

Hugs,

Jill

I AM IN EXACTLY THE SAME PLACE YOU ARE! I HAVE GOTTEN OVER 100 POUNDS OFF BUT STILL HAVE AT LEAST 100 TO GO. THE RECOVERY TIME FROM THE SURGERY WILL BE MUCH EASIER WITH THE WEIGHT OFF. BUT I AM AFRAID THE KNEE WON'T HOLD OUT UNTIL I GET THE WEIGHT OFF. WORKING HARD AT IT THOUGH. BUT LIKE YOU, I CAN'T DO THE NU-STEP OR THE AIR-DYNE ANY MORE AND THOSE WORKED ME INTO A GOOD SWEAT AND REALLY BURNED THE CALORIES. LET'S HOPE WE BOTH GET THESE POUNDS OFF IN TIME TO HEAL REALLY WELL AND THEN WE CAN SCHEDULE A RACE SOMEWHERE.

Check out some of the exercise videos that you can do sitting down. They may help.

I'm in the same exercise/ knee pain situation. The only type of exercise I've found that does not aggravate my creaky knee is swimming. Good luck! emoticon

Old Habits Die Hard

Saturday, November 17, 2012

Although, I usually make better food choices I still find myself slipping into some of my old very bad habits.

I know what you mean. I really enjoy what I eat on my food plan. But let me go off for a few days and it's really hard getting back to it. I don't feel good and the food doesn't taste nearly as good, but habit is a powerful thing. Especially the bad ones.

Like Jeannie asked is this all on one sandwich or the kind of sandwiches you like? I like all those ingredients but not all in one sandwich. Have a good day and a great week.

Hugs,

Jill

All in one sandwich? Or 3 different sandwiches? Would take any one of them separately, but together? Not so much! LOL! Jeannie
