Not feeling myself even still

Wednesday, November 09, 2011

I sure wish I knew what was going on. I thought it was depression but maybe it isn't only that. U have never really felt this way. I am neither here nor there. Oh well...maybe it will go away.

Praying you find out what the problem is and are back on your way to feeling better soon.

If not you should see a doctor. Maybe you have something easily treatable like a vitamin deficiency.

It wouldn't hurt to see your doctor and ask his opinion and advise. Could be you are suffering from seasonal affected disorder (depression from a lack of sunshine - this is the time of year for that ailment).
Take care of yourself, and please seek help.

Particularly if you're already on any sort of psychiatric medication, contact your doctor soon. It's scary just how many odd side-effects those can cause.

Even if you're not on any medication, please as others said, contact your doctor and discuss it. Our minds can do all sorts of things as a cry for help - and ignoring it and hoping it will go away means it can't be addressed and helped.

Like others, I think a trip to your doctor might not be a bad idea. But on the up side of this, you really are doing the "right" thing too, coming here, talking to us. Can you put into words just what it is you are feeling? Is it more "emotional" or are you dealing with some physical stuff too? Does it only have to do with your nutrition journey or are there other things going on that has you feeling in a blue funk? Talk to us, it really does help!

I'm sorry to hear that you still are not feeling well. Seeing your doctor would be a good start but also take a look at some of the food you are eating. Food can also cause some of what you are going through. I have been there. Reducing the white flour, processed foods, and sugar helped relieve alot of depression like symptoms. Anything might be worth a try at this point. Hope you find an answer soon. Blessings, Carol

Giving up

Monday, November 07, 2011

Today is my first day since being on spark people I have felt like giving up.
I don't feel like binging or eating the wrong foods, just not being on spark people anymore.
I sure do love my spark friends plus all the friends I haven't met on here yet. Everyone is so supportive, I know.
I have read quite a few of these blogs people have written. This is my first and hopefully only.
I don't know why i feel this way but maybe tomorrow I will get over it.
We'll see....

Giving up on SP (or anything else) is okay. Giving up on yourself is not. As Jen says, in my lifetime of struggling (joined ww at age 13, I'm 40), it's when I don't have "a group" that I fail.

I joined SP years ago -- tried it as a trial offer when it did have a fee. Didn't "get" it. Honestly, I don't think it was that good back then and I'd been working WW off and on by that time for 2 decades. I came back to check it out a few years later and stayed on a little while...then left a few years, then came BACK again. I'm in and out but it always stays true that I do better (myself here) when I'm TRACKING (I'm a binger) and when I have a support group. Life's hard. It's nice to have a space filled with people who recognize that truth and have a similar purpose of being healthier.

Good luck to you!

I've been on Sparkpeople since before it was free (like 7+ years or something like that). What I've learned is that whenever I am NOT on Sparkpeople I FAIL at fitness and healthy eating. I completely fall off the wagon! So, I've committed that at the very least I will log onto Sparkpeople every week day forever. I take the weekends off. Maybe that is what you need, just a little break on the weekends? Seriously, don't give up. Sparkpeople is the key to success. It keeps you accountable and it reminds you of your goals.

Giving up, is not an option.
Here's the thing.. this is a journey that we are all on together.
I think we have all had those days when we don't wanna spark. It's ok. It's a lot of work. But it is worth it, and you deserve the effort it takes.
Feeling like giving up is ok, actually doing it.. not so much ok.
OKAY????

Reading your "words of wisdom", "Life's Journey is Easier When You Hear a Friends Footsteps Beside You". These words couldn't be truer. Being with us could be as simple as checking in and asking those friends you have found and the others who would love to be there to support you for that support. You only have to do what you feel good about, it shouldn't be a "chore". But I hope that you look at it all and realize that this really isn't a "website", it is a meeting of like minds and souls and we do grow to love each other a lot. Hoping you find your way, whatever that may be, you are the only one who can choose what is best for you!

It's OK if you need a break. This is something that is supposed to lift you up and help you reach your goals, not something that drags you down. I hope a good night's sleep and the new morning's light helps you feel better.

You have not given up on yourself. You now know you are the only one that can make it happen for you.

You have the power to succeed or fail.

You have chosen to succeed.

I have had moments like this. Where it is just like: alright I don't eat unhealthy junk, I know that I need to exercise regularly, but really what is the point.
This place still keeps you accountable. Even if you don't use every feature, it still makes you aware of what you are doing, decisions that you are making. I know that if I log food, I do better with weight loss, but I find it too tedious.
Do what you think is necessary, but just find a way to keep you accountable for what you are doing.
Hang in there.

    Say more.

You don't feel like bingeing, or eating the wrong foods. You seem to like your Spark friends. There must be something specific that you don't like about Spark People. Is it tracking food, or tracking exercise? Or, is it something else?

Maybe you can temporarily cut out what you don't like about SparkPeople and keep the things you appreciate.

And, don't quit blogging. It can just be one more thing that motivates you stay, and motivates you to lose weight.

Hope you can hang in there, and tomorrow feel better about sticking with SP. Dropping out and probably gaining even more weight is always an option for all of us. I plan to be on SP the rest of my life, regardless of how the weight loss is going. This is a wonderful community and so much better than any of the other weight loss programs I have tried. And, trust me......I have tried almost all of them!

Keep Coming Back!

Don't quit. I have quit and started over at least five times in the two years I have been on Spark. I always end up coming back. Take a little break if you want. But then come back. Start over if you want to. Maybe try some new teams. But please don't quit.

I'm sorry to hear that you want to give up Spark people. There have been times that I have felt that way before as well and have stepped away for a while. Needless to say that without the constant logging in to plan my meals, I have put weight back on and have been miserable.

This time around I have connected with a few people on SP and have supported others along their journey to only find fulfillment along my journey. Whatever you decide to do, best wishes and blessings, Carol
