Goals and rewards!

Sunday, July 18, 2010

So, I was reading The Spark book and I was thinking about some mid point goals to do with weight bench marks. I decided that I am going to reward myself every 10 lbs because I have come to the realization that every pound is a sweet dream come true emoticon and with all the money I will be saving due to the fact that I won't be buying copious amounts of junk .... I will get myself something motivating and complimentary to my journey. I am going to add fitness goals pretty soon here when I can think of some :)

Good luck and I wish you the best! Just be careful. The smoothie thing sounds like a fad diet, not a lifestyle change. It just doesn't sound sustainable. Where will you get protein and fat? Both are very important. I'm 26. years old. I was 350 in January and a smoker since age 13. Starting Jan 5th of this year, I quit smoking and lost 82 pounds to date (and still going) by just eating and exercising NORMALLY. It's been difficult, but so much easier than I thought it would be because it feels normal. And I know I'm going to keep it off because I can live this way for the rest of my life. They say 95% of people gain their weight back. That's scary! I'm not not trying to burst your bubble, I would just hate to see you set yourself up for a fall by trying to live on veggie/fruit smoothies. Like you said, it is radical, which usually doesn't work. I know cause I've been there. I don't think the writer of this book has your best interests at heart and I'm sorry but shame on the author/publisher for marketing this diet as a lifestyle change. That being said, a green smoothie does sound delicious and I will try one. I just wouldn't want to live on them. :) Please post a recipe sometime! By the way, I know exactly what you're going through as far as daily life being hard because of your body. It really sux and I still deal with it, but its so much easier than it used to be. I'm only a few months into my journey but I feel so liberated by the new things I can do. Like standing on a chair to fix a light bulb without hurling myself up there and almost falling! And I darn near cried when I ran a 5k a few weeks ago. Keep working and keep up your inspiring enthusiasm cause you got some great things coming your way and you seem like you know it!

PS - I think you should have some delicious, juicy grass-fed beef for dinner tonight! Find it at your local Co-Op!

My classes are long and so full of information it is so mentally draining. The scrubs didnt fit but they are going to order me in bigger sizes and hopefully they fit. And the most horrible part about it is that I dont want to work out at all today! It makes me feel sad :(

Good for you! How's your class going? Did you have trouble finding the scrubs? I understand the anxiety, but I think scrubs come in allll kinds of sizes. I've seen some pretty big nurses. (And they weren't nekkid. emoticon)

My workout partner is sick! But i think that I am going to go to step class by myself today. I am a little bit scared..... I shouldn't be but I am. It is silly to have my working out schedule depend on my friend but it's not....even though I want it to. I hate going to workout classes alone. It is not my cup of tea but in my defence I am the biggest girl in class and because of that I'm pretty sure that I am the one getting worked out the hardest. My face is sooooo red by then end of class it is slightly embarrassing BUT I will get over it because Step class is the best workout I get all week! I am starting to really love it ALOT! I dont see how having my butt kicked is a good thing but I like every minute of class. I am finding it easier too! Sweet deal! Well I hope my buddie can make it but if she is not there then I must solider on in this battle called weight loss! emoticon

Great attitude to take! My face sometimes gets really red working out, too, but I just remind myself that that means Iím working myself hard. It sounds like you really like your step class. emoticon

I loved step class so much that I bought a step for my apartment. One time I stepped right into the wall. It was a really small apartment!

Nice video and I can't wait to see your journey. I think all you vloggers are very brave and inspiring. It takes a special person to be "real" on camera an you have a knack of drawing us in. Tracking has helped me tremendously and has made me quite accountable. I can't believe the lies I was telling myself before. Who was that hurting? Just me.
Have a great week and vlog on my Spark sister.

You go girl. And when you can't, just stop, rest and refuel. Then you go again, girl! Smiles, Mary
